Almost everyone experienced a bit of stress this season, whether it from the cruel winter and spring that we were dealt, or with rain-outs, cancellations, and rescheduling big events. On the very very bright side however, the WNYPGA visited superb venues, we crowned most-deserving champions, our junior tour continued to flourish, and thanks to a great many volunteers, we hosted four Drive Chip and Putt events, along with three hugely successful HOPE Programs across our section in an effort to give back to those who served our country! In just over two months, your officers and I will be heading to Indianapolis, where your delegates will be voting for the next Secretary of the Association. Three fine candidates are running, and their information and backgrounds can be found at pgalinks.com. Additionally, we will welcome the next District IV Director to the PGA Board of Directors, our own Tim Fries. Please do your duty and research their candidacies, and do not hesitate to contact your officers or myself to express your thoughts and opinions. Always remember that the PGA of America is your association, and you need to stay involved in what transpires in shaping its future. The Annual Meeting is set for an exciting day on October 6 th at the Seneca Niagara Hotel & Casino, along with golf at Seneca Hickory Stick and our annual Awards and Media & Sponsor Recognition Banquet back at the Hotel that evening. Along with being a great deal of entertainment and fun, this day is yet another opportunity to acquire 7 PGA Required MSR, and with the current cycle ending next June, these could prove crucial in helping WNYPGA Professionals achieve at least the minimum required. Please make an effort to be active and participate in the day s activities- in its third go-around the golf portion alone continues to become a reason to spend the day in Niagara Falls! I would like to say that I am very encouraged at the direction, tone and atmosphere at the National office lately. I think anyone involved would agree. Lastly, I would encourage anyone to become involved in our section affairs. We have many programs and events that need volunteers, and they are so very rewarding. My time spent teaching the HOPE program is some of the most rewarding time each week. So please, talk to one of the staff and see how you can help out, you will get more than you give. 6 MSR CYCLE UPDATE Worried about your current MSR obligations? Don t panic! While the clock is indeed ticking toward the end of the cycle (June/2015), the PGA recently released 11 complimentary courses that award 1 PGA-Required credit each.
