Coaching and development this was mostly based around lack of access to coaching for beginners and juniors; 5. Club culture exclusive club cultures and the impact this has on making new or beginner players feel welcome.

11 Southland Golf Club Census Plans and Policies 81% of clubs have a Health and Safety plan, up from 55% in This was also raised as a second tier priority for a number of clubs for the next year. Alarmingly the number of clubs with a Strategic Plan and/or Business Plan, however most clubs indicated it was a top three priority for this year.

12 Southland Golf Club Census Participation 55% of clubs have indicated their membership is decreasing slowly, while 36% said their membership is about the same. 55% of clubs have modified days/times/formats over the last 12 months (Wednesday night competition, 9 hole Saturday competition) 45% of clubs are likely to modify in the coming year. 64% of clubs indicated they are likely to consider implementing new participation initiatives in the next 12 months
