March was a stellar month for Venetian Bay and with the 2014 Parade of Homes coming to an end, I m happy to announce that the Venetian Bay Community and all its Homebuilders were distinguished with Blue Ribbons from Parade Judges: Venetian Bay Best Overall Quality & Master Plan Homebuilder Venetian Bay Community Grand Award Winners will be announced in early April, and we expect we ll be hearing some more successes for Venetian Bay. The Volusia Building Industry Association (VBIA) organizes the Parade of Homes, which is the County s premier residential open house. I appreciate the gracious support of our VBIA and real estate professionals who support Venetian Bay s growth. We are very optimistic and look forward to continued growth and prosperity for Venetian Bay residents, homebuilders and business owners. We have been working hard to create an active and engaging community for all residents. Join us in creating excitement! Best Integration of Living Space Best Featured Large Living Space Spring is officially here!!! March 21 was the first day of spring and we have been enjoying some great weather here at Venetian Bay. It is always fun to keep reminding our friends and family about how great we have it while they are hunkered down enduring the polar vortex. Venetian Bay continues to gather momentum. Last month we had a great turn out to learn about new flood maps, roads, car dealerships, multi-use trails and planned I-95 interchange from the New Smyrna beach planning and engineering department. The city manager also informed of us the recent changes to public parking areas along our beaches in New Smyrna. Make sure you save up some money so you can buy the new parking pass! We had an even better time hanging out at the Party in the Park listening to the Jam and watching our children enjoy face painting while bouncing around in the jump house. Thanks to all those who participated and helped make it a great event. We are working on ideas to make the next community happening even bigger and better. I am hopeful that I will be announcing some new businesses that will be opening in the Venetian Bay town center very soon. I have been busy working with several businesses that are excited about opening in the town center and becoming a part of our community. Congratulations on making your community the best!!! 2 Party in the Park! The Party in the Park was a huge success! It was a beautiful day with good food and awesome entertainment from The Jam! The kids had so much fun jumping in the bounce house, having their faces painted and getting their creative balloons from the balloon sculptor. It was also nice that Venetian Bay United Methodist Church was there giving away free popcorn. All in all it was a wonderful day. Thank you to all who came out and supported the event! Tonya Gandy, Marketing Coordinator By Kyle Mooney (General Manager of the Golf Club) Greetings Venetian Bay Members! We have a lot of new and exciting things headed your way over the next few months. The club will be instituting a brand new program called Women on Course which will provide the ladies at the club, in the community and in the surrounding area a great opportunity to get familiar with the game of golf. It will also be a great reason to get you all together for a few cocktails or glasses of wine! The club s LPGA teaching professional, Cindy McAllister, will be our ambassador for the program so look for more information to come. Cindy has also been doing an amazing job with the Jr. clinics and programs here at the club. If you do not have your youngster signed up yet, please call the clubhouse for more information. Thank you to all that came down to the club to enjoy the Bloody Mary and Mimosa party in March. We are looking forward to hosting another this summer up at the Tiki bar. Speaking of Tiki, the hot Florida summer is approaching and we are working hard to get the pool and Tiki ready for you! On May 5 th, the Tiki bar will be open 7 days a week for your entertainment and use! There is a lot of excitement around the club and we really think this is going to be a great year for Venetian Bay and our Members! We have a summer full of fun events and activities so be on the lookout and don t miss out! By Lenny Varacelli (Head Golf Professional at the Golf Club) The Masters In the golf world, that is what the month of April always brings. The first major professional golf tournament of the year, all the history, the past champions, CBS Sports coverage and probably the most beautiful golf course in the world. It still is one of the hardest tickets in sports and if you ever get the chance, you won t be disappointed! I have been fortunate to be there three times and I can honestly say, no matter how hi-def your TV is, you have to be there to smell the azaleas, the dogwoods, and appreciate the extreme hills of Augusta National. Not to mention the perfect fairways, greens and rough yes, they do have rough. The Masters, the season of spring, and the Easter Holiday all comes together in April to make it truly one of the most favorite golf months of the year. Until next month, fairways and greens. By Scott Eberly (Superintendent of the Golf Course) Greetings to all. Over the past months, the maintenance team has been striving to improve our processes here at the club. We have experienced a lot of transition with our staff and this has required a great deal of training for our new team members. We continue to improve each day and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we educate our new team members on the proper ways to do our most important jobs such as cup cutting. We have replaced all of our cups and flag sticks with a new product line that should allow these items to stand up better to the severe winds we face regularly here at Venetian Bay. As our golfers know all too well, the bunkers are the biggest challenge we face, particularly during stormy weather periods. Following heavy rains, it may take us 4-5 days to get the bunkers back to original condition. Going forward, we will be concentrating on greenside bunkers first and foremost in order to make every effort to meet our Member expectations. It seems like only yesterday we were over-seeding the course, and now, the transition begins back to Bermuda grass for the summer. As plants begin to green up, it is the perfect time to put down a spring application of fertilizer at your homes for your lawns and landscaping beds.
