DECEMBER, 2014 Greetings, Here we are at the end of the year. And what a year it s been! 2014 has brought us so much! Our membership has grown and we couldn t be happier.

While it s gratifying to look back over the year, it s also exciting to look ahead. December is sure to be a great time.

1 DECEMBER, 2014 Greetings, Here we are at the end of the year. And what a year it s been! 2014 has brought us so much! Our membership has grown and we couldn t be happier. Thank you, new Members for making Oakwood your new home away from home. And let s not forget our existing Membership. You make Oakwood the fun and welcoming place it is. While it s gratifying to look back over the year, it s also exciting to look ahead. December is sure to be a great time. Brunch with Santa, The Annual Oakwood Christmas Party and Christmas Brunch are all longstanding Oakwood Family Traditions. We ve also added Bring the Office to Oakwood on December 18 th ; an awesome way to give the gift of Oakwood to your employees and co-workers. We ll serve a delicious buffet, so there s sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. January will be a month of planning and preparation for the coming year. We have a lot in store for you! Many of your favorite events will return along with some new family and children focused activities. That s all we re going to say for now, but watch the upcoming newsletters and e- blasts for more information. 4 From the Ladies Organization December already where has this year gone and who ordered this COLD weather so early in the season. This year has been a very rewarding and fun year for our club events and I would like to express my sincere appreciation for all who made it possible. The Oakwood Ladies' Organization is made up of a great group of women and I am proud to have served as your President. I truly appreciate all the support from the committee Chairs and can't thank you enough for making my job easy. I know you will continue to give our incoming President, Sandy Rice, your support and I look forward to a fun filled year to come. The Fall Fashion Show held on November 1st was a huge success. The food was delicious, the models looked great in their fashions and the centerpieces were beautiful!! A big thank you goes out to Donna Edwards, Terrase Winkelbauer, Julie Burns, all the models and to Mark, Sean and the staff for a great event. I know you all spent a lot of time and effort putting this event together. It was truly appreciated. We also collected many toys for the toys for tots program. The Ladies' that play bridge continue to do so during the winter months and the Ladies' that usually golf on Thursday mornings also play cards during the winter months on Thursdays mornings. Hope to see you all out at the club for cards, lunch and socializing!!! 18 Oakwood Membership Financial Commitment Oakwood memberships are annual for the period of March 1 through the following February 28(29). Memberships automatically renew on March 1 unless a request for resignation or change in membership classification is requested in writing. All requests for resignation or change in classification must be postmarked or received in the Oakwood office 30 days prior to the requested effective date. The requested effective date must coincide with a month end date including the end of the Fiscal Year - February 28(29). The 30 day period is waived for Active or Inactive Life changes or in the case of death. The January & February Issues of The Oakwood Newsletter will be combined & sent out in January. We wish all of you a very magical holiday season! December, January and February Food & Beverage Minimums The Club will be closing on January 2, 2015 for annual maintenance and deep cleaning, reopening on January 28 th, Your monthly minimum will be affected by the shutdown. We will be altering the monthly minimum cycle in order to accommodate you during the last three months of the fiscal year. Members whose last names begin with the letters A - M will have from November 16, 2014 through February 15, 2015 to use their combined three month minimums. For example, if you are a Family 40+ golf member whose last name begins with the letter J, you will have from November 16, 2014 through February 15, 2015 to spend $180 in food and beverage charges. Members whose last names begin with the letters N - Z will have from December 1, 2014 through February 28, 2015 to use their combined three month minimums.
