2 Message from the Pro - Euggie Jones HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year with family and friends! 2019 is going to be a great year at the club and we want you and your family to take advantage of all the club has to offer. Its time to renew all handicap fees, bag storage, locker rentals and driving range plans. For those of you who had these services last year, you will be automatically charged this year unless you tell us otherwise. If you re planning to play in more club events this season, I want to encourage you to sign up for a USGA handicap. Most all the club events use handicaps as a way to level the playing field and make our competitions fair for everyone. Having a current handicap also gives you an accurate way to track your scores and progress throughout the year and if you play in events at other clubs, handicaps are often required. The price for our handicap service is $36.00 annually. The VSGA has an app that is accessible through your cell phone and it makes it convenient to post scores when you are away from the club. Practice? We talking about PRACTICE? If you made a New Year s Resolution to work on your game, a driving range membership is the way to go! We offer an individual plan for $ and a family plan for $ and you get unlimited range balls for the year. This is a convenient way to save money and improve your game! GET A GRIP!!! Its January and its time to check your golf vitals. Check your shoes and see if they need new spikes. Check your range finder and make sure your battery is working. Most importantly, check your grips to see if they re worn and need replaced! I will offer FREE grip installation for everyone who purchases their grips at Glenrochie and for everyone who has a locker, bag storage or a driving range plan. Mark your calendars. Our 2019 tournament schedule will be in the February newsletter. I want to encourage you to play in as many events as possible this season. I promise you will have a great time, meet new people and enjoy some great food from Figerado s! REMINDERS: Be sure to call the golf shop for tee times. This will ensure your spot on the first tee and help speed up play. Also, be sure to check with the pro shop for frost delays and for the daily cart rules. Keep it in the short grass and out of the snow!!
