1 Ju Glenrochie Gazette Since 1958 November 2018 Thankful Thank you all for a wonderful year! We have had great participation in all our tournaments and Member Appreciation events. None of this would be possible without the work from our members and staff. Thank you for making our club great!!! November 15, 2018 is our annual board meeting and all members are invited to attend. Figaredo s is preparing chili, bread, and salad buffet for $ This will be from 5-7 pm. Please come out for a great meal and hear a recap of the club s year.

Message from the Pro - Euggie Jones It's hard to believe that another golf season has come and gone. I want to personally thank the entire membership for an outstanding 2018 season.

Also, our junior programs were great and we hosted Abingdon High School, Holston High School and Emory & Henry college.

2 Message from the Pro - Euggie Jones It's hard to believe that another golf season has come and gone. I want to personally thank the entire membership for an outstanding 2018 season. Our play levels were up, our member appreciation parties were always full and our tournament participation numbers were the highest we've seen in a very long time. Also, our junior programs were great and we hosted Abingdon High School, Holston High School and Emory & Henry college. Abingdon and Holston both qualified for the state championship and Abingdon won the state championship in the 3A division! Also, we are very fortunate to have THREE individual state champions at our club. Connor Creasy, Isabella Vanderbiest and Channing Blevins all won high school state titles in their respective divisions. Connor played for Abingdon, Isabella played for Dobyns Bennett and Channing played for George Wythe. Creasy was recently named a Rolex High School All American!! Dylan Boothe finished tied for 5th and helped lead George Wythe to a state championship in the 1A division. Also, Katie Hall and Lily Self qualified for the girls state championship as induviduals and represented Abingdon High School and Tennessee High School very well. Hunter Simmons played in the PGA Junior League National Championship and his team finished 2nd! Wow! The future sure looks bright at Glenrochie Country Club! Our fall and winter merchandise is arriving weekly and we have brands from Foot Joy, Cutter and Buck, Titleist, Ping, Taylor Made and Imperial to choose from. Please give me a call if you need to order anything for Christmas. Remember, any club, shoes or hard goods can be ordered at only 15% over invoice. Some manufacture restrictions may apply. Reminders: Please call the pro shop before play and be aware of frost delays. Please allow faster players to play through, especially if you're playing in a fivesome. Also, please repair all ball marks and divots. Ball marks and divots take longer to heal during the colder months and its very important to repair them. My personal rule is to fix my ball mark and two others. Reminder that denims may be worn on the golf course from November- March, and our seasonal green fee rate of $40.00 will be in effect. Visits will not be counted against guests during this period. The golf shop hours of business will be Sunday-Saturday 8:00-5:00. TENNIS TENNIS We have had an excellent Fall Season thus far with Several of our Jr. Players participating in our Jr. Programming as well as Local & Regional Tournament Play with Great Success.

Thanks to Coach Jim Barker for all his hard work and dedication toward helping further develop our Jr. Program. We are currently underway with our Annual Club Championships which should finish up by Mid November. Our Jr Participants are Annie Miller, Lauren Wimmer, Lauren Goodman, Carter Hylton, Tristan Hicks, Dillon McReynolds, Martina & Ramon Francisco, Mary & Carolyn Hitch, Elizabeth Nicholes, Emerson Mathesius, Drew Roop, Luke Gibson, Cade Miller, & Evan Dawson. Our Adult Championships Include. Ben Harrell & Troy Nicholes, Casey McReynolds & Bill Gibson, Santiago Figaredo & Steve Bednar, & Jay Lavigne & Eric Miller. Our Ladies Finals Match will be Charlyne Francisco & Stephanie Garris vs. Deb & Annie Miller. Special Thanks to Ben Harrell for his continued efforts to help grow the Men s Doubles Program. We currently have approx. 16 Men participating in either Wednesday Evening or Saturday Morning Men s Doubles each week. All our Programming will soon move indoors to the Bristol Racquet & Fitness Center. I will be ing / posting on our Program App the schedule ASAP. Looking forward to a Great Season of Indoor Tennis, Coach Poole & Coach Barker Congrats to the AHS Golf Team. I see them out there on a daily basis making the sacrifices when no one is watching. I guess because of the food Our Friday night menu for November is a great example of the fall season food, hearty, rich, colorful. We want to remind you that we are booking holiday parties and that there is no cost for the room rental for members, so please contact me and let s plan your party On Thursday November the 15th is the annual board meeting and all members are invited to attend, we will be having a salad and chili buffet form 5 to 7pm and the bar will stay open.
