Member/Guest The 2018 Glenrochie Member Guest will be played on June 16th-17th. This years format will be match play with each player receiving 80% of their USGA handicap. Teams will play 9-hole matches competing against each team in their respective flight. Teams will earn one point for each hole won and ½ point for each hole halved. The winners of each flight will qualify for the shootout on Sunday afternoon to determine the Member-Guest champion. We will play 27 holes on Saturday, June 16th and 18 holes on Sunday June 17th with the shootout to follow. The entry fee for this years event is $350.00/team. Your entry includes golf, cart, range balls, lunch both days, tee gifts both days, keg beer both days, dinner party for four on Saturday night and tournament prizes. Your guest and their family will be considered members of Glenrochie for the entire week of June 10th-17th. They may play golf for cart fees only and enjoy our pool, tennis facilities and dining. All GCC rules and regulations will apply to your guest and their family that week. You must pay with a check, credit card or cash when you register. Your entry fee will NOT be charged to your account and all entries must be received no later than Monday, June 4th at 5:00pm. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN AFTER JUNE 4th. 4 Message from the Pro - Euggie Jones April showers brings May flowers... and hopefully a bunch of good golf days! May is a really busy month here at the club full of fun events for the entire family to enjoy. Our Spring Member-Member/Club Championship weekend is May 5th-6th. This will be an awesome event with two tournaments combined in one. You and your partner will be entered in the Member-Member portion of the tournament as a two person team and you will be entered in the club championship tournament as an individual. The format will be gross/net with each player receiving 100% of their USGA handicap. The cost of the tournament is $110/player and includes your carts for both rounds, range balls, lunch both days and tournament prizes. Please call the golf shop ASAP to sign up! After the first round of the Member-Member is complete on May 5th, we will have our annual Kentucky Derby party! This is one of the most fun events of the year and we will have heavy appetizers and drinks as well as betting on the horses! Also, we will have our annual hat competition for the ladies! The cost for the party is $25/person. Please call Figerado's to sign up! On Saturday, May 19th we will have our annual guest day. You may bring a prospective member or friend and play our course for cart fee's only. I will have a $20 gross/net skins game that day and give you and your guest a chance to win some $$$$ as well!! This is a great way to show your friends our club and a very reasonable price and hopefully adds to our growing membership! If you cant play with your guest that day, call the golf shop and we will get them a tee time! Calling all Glenrochie Junior Golfers!!! On Saturday May 12th I will be taking 40 juniors to the Web.com Knoxville Open at Fox Den CC in Knoxville Tn. We will leave from Glenrochie at 7:30, drive to Knoxville, watch some of the rising PGA tour Pro's play, eat dinner and then return to the club that evening. I will also need parents to drive and help with the kids. Please give me a call ASAP if you and your child would like to go. I have 40 tickets for the kids and the parents can buy their tickets at the gate. I will be having a age Junior Club team this season. We will play Clear Creek, Blackthorn, Johnson City CC, Cattails and Link Hills. This team is open to boys and girls and we will have home matches as well as away matches. This will be an awesome way for your child to get some competition this summer and a great way for the high school players to prepare for the fall season. Call me at the golf shop asap and I will give you more information. Deadline to register for the PGA Junior League team is Tuesday May 15th. This team is open to all members ages 8-13 and is a great way for your junior golfer to learn the game in a low key, competitive atmosphere. I will need players to form the team. Please let me know asap if your youngster is interested. If we don't get enough for the team, I will be having some junior classes especially for this age group that will include lessons, course time and some fun competition.

5 Message from the Pro - continued Thanks to everyone who braved the elements and played in this years Glenrochie Master's Tournament! The team of Mike Patrick and Jordan Speith won the gross portion of the tournament and the teams of Tim Hall/ Rory McIlrory and Jeff Cullop/Bubba Watson tied for the net division. We had 28 players on a very cold and windy Masters Sunday! Thanks to all who played and we will be doing this again for the Britsh Open in July! GOLF REMINDERS: Tuesday ZOMBIE walkers league will be every Tuesday at 5:00. ($10 fee for the game)... Wednesday Ladies Clinics from 6:00-8:00, $25 includes one hour instruction and one drink and appetizers... Thursday Night Scrambles will be every Thursday evening at 5:00 with a $20 fee for the game... Ladies Day is Thursdays at 10:00 with fun games each week... Lindy's game will be Wednesday's at 1:00 with a $20 fee for the game... The Pro's Game will be on Friday's at 1:00 with a $40 fee for the game... Euggie New Age Limit for Golf Cart Use The Board of Directors moved to change the age limit to be eligible to drive a GCC golf cart from age 16 to age 14. This privilege is contingent upon a safety/procedures course that will be offered through GCC. Successful course completion must be accomplished prior to cart usage. We recently obtained a new fleet of golf carts at GCC. I hope our Spring is no indication of what Summer will be. Our tentative opening date this year will be Saturday, May 26th, There are not a lot of changes to the rules, policies, and expectations this year. We thank you in advance for your respect for, cooperation, and adherence to them all. After the up and down weather in April, we are getting ready for a very busy May: Kentucky Derby, Member-Member, Guest day and Memorial Day are just around the corner and we are working hard to make these events a great success. We also are going to have a Mother s day brunch on May the 13 th and a 2 nd appreciation party on Saturday May the 19 th ; this time for our appreciation party we are doing a Mexican theme including delicious food, Corona beer, margaritas and even piñatas for the kids and adults!!
