1 HIGH DRAMA AT THE BULLE Brian Flynn in A-Landslide Enforcer Edges Voice of Reason by Tiebreaker Three-in-Row for the Hawk (L-R) Money s Shot Flynn & Hawk STAFF Professor Go Go Jones (Havre de Grace MD) You know when you think about it the Golf Mission Tour closely approximates a social club. It reminds me more and more of the fraternity house I joined many moons ago. And possibly one day the GMA Tour will become a fraternal organization. It would be called, GAMMA MU ALPHA the greek letters for GMA We buy or lease a big house on a hill, with many rooms, and bachelors like the Colonel Sandpaper live there and rent a room at the Frat House, and naturally do a little bit of hell raising. Trophies and memorabilia are stored at the Frat House, and Scooter Mandato organizes a monthly Texas Hold em Contest and possibly we watch Monday night football games in the fall, with dancing girls at the half time. Naturally all GMA meetings could be held at the Frat House and we could run parties after all events, and rent out our house to other organizations. The major pitfall is, and is major, we all are pretty damn spread out, and well it never hurts to dream a very doubtful reality but then again who knows what is what. Beta Theta Pi was the frat I joined at West Virginia University back in 1980, when Jimmy Carter was still president, and I had a full head of hair. I didn t do too well with my studies, and at one point after I transferred from doing my freshman year at Nathaniel Hawthorne College in New Hampshire, I recall telling my father that at the rate I was accumulating credits, I would probably graduate when I was 55, and would only have to work 10 years. Nathaniel Hawthorne which we called Nanny Ha- Ha was a very prestigious college, and entrance requirements were most demanding: 1. You needed the financial wherewithal to qualify and, 2. You were required to have a heart beat. Pass those two stringent tests and you were eligible to enroll. I sneaked in there on a high school equivalency test after being expelled from Wayne Valley H.S in 1977, and then expelled the next year repeating my senior year at a boarding school in PA, Perkiomen Prep School in I was doing good with my grades at Perk, for the first time ever excelling in school, however, I caught doing playing hide the sausage with my Perkiomen irsish girlfriend Erica. Oh by the way, my grades were fair at Nanny Ha Ha but I got bounced out of that school for vandalism, after spring finals. Three consecutive years, three different institutions and three bounces and needless to say my father, a respectable mechanical engineer, was one pissed off pirate. Bomber at the Bull s first Tee

2 At West Virginia University I developed quite a solid quarter bounce game, and was nicknamed the Dog Catcher. Like a hungry shark my hunt strategy was based on the premise that the wounded fish were the easiest of prey. today among the Mission Faithful What goes on in Vegas stays their. ManScooter wears his Wizard Crown for a Free Lunch Now in your frat house you always had people who would drink way too much, myself included, and wake up the next day with a serious hangover, some memory loss, and you then would learn how much of a Jackass you were the night before. And like a wounded animal the next day, your fraternity brothers would gang up and sling the nastiest of insults they could dream up, and laugh their asses off about your misfortunes. We all had a blast applying salt to the wounds of the drunken soldier, but we did live by a fraternal code. What goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas. There was a lot of behind the scenes drama at the Bull on June 4th, and I was licking my chops that weekend with the anticipation of utilizing all that nasty dirty laundry for my weekly story. Hell, as a journalist you know the reader often revels at the sight of blood, as long as it is not his. But then the better Angels-of-my- Judgment reminded me, of all the damn crazy, ridiculous things I have done in the past, and was glad none of these were published on the web. Things that were much more heinous then the tirades carried out under a full moon on a warm night in Aberdeen, Maryland, that occurred on the now infamous evening of June 4, at the Red Roof Inn. As the Beta Theta Pi boys had their code of behavior back in the day, this should be the same Early Stages Red Roof June 4 Professor Go-Go Jones takes part of this blame on the escapades of June 4. He provided the fire works at the Red Roof Inn by providing too much Vodka, too much Gin and too much Whiskey. People were slamming shots in Laurie O Hara s room which had been converted into a GMA Tour Saloon, with music of the 70 s blasting from the GMA s new speaker system, and Laurie and her daughter, working their tails off tending the bar. Yes, the set up was very cool. We didn t have enough space within the rooms to set up our Texas Holdem Contest, so it was moved outdoors. Cars were parked sideways to block off additional parking lot space for Scooter Mandato s gambling table. It was the first Multi-day event in a very long time that we returned to our Old School Formula of running a GMA Tour Calcutta, and then holding a Texas Holdem Tournament, which was organized by ManScooter. Now as we get to the golf end of this story, we had three champions at this year s 23 rd Annual Crazy Horse Memorial at the fabulous Bulle Rock Golf Club. This event was named after our first USGA Handicap Director Johnny The Crazy Horse Cochran. Joshua The Hawk Rosen took his third consecutive Low Gross Title at Bulle Rock now having cemented victories in 2014, 2015 & 2016.

3 After Round One on Saturday June 4, Josh and 2016 Masters Low Gross Champion, Kevin McCormick AKA The PipeFitter, would share the lead with 76 s. Five strokes back after the first Round was a 3-Way between Anthony the Machine Fioretti, Jeffrey Hooker Hook and Daniel Round Tripp. Mr. Rosen was paired in the Final group on Sunday, and his match play opponent was Mr. McPipeFitter. The rough was very deep on this weekend of play, and The Hawk and PipeFitter struggled to finish on Sunday with 85 and 86 respectively. However, the 5-stroke cushion from Saturday was enough to deliver Mr. Rosen his 3-Peat-at-the-Bull. It may not have been pretty, but Hawk got the job done. right turn directly into a lake never to be seen again. The loss of my hybrid coupled with how poorly I struck the ball Saturday didn't leave me with too much confidence going into Sunday, being 8 shots back of Money Shot's [now star] rookie Brian Flynn, and having to play the Pipe Fitter who was said to have been 2 under through 10 on Saturday. That all changed once I realized that McCormick was giving me a shot. High winds and tough pin positions had the course playing much harder on Sunday, and for the 2nd day in a row, no one in my group really played well except for Jeff Hook who hit some great recovery shots and made many clutch putts, including the Hybrid / Iron / Wedge off the rocks and back into our fairway / Wedge / 15 foot save #2. Both matches came down to the 18th, where both Brian and I halved our matches by winning the 18th with a 6 and a 5, leaving Brian with a 6-stroke win in the net competition and me with a 1 stroke win in Gross (0 points). (L-R) Hawk, Bulle Rock Iron Horse & Wooden Horse Hawk Feed As everyone who's played Bulle Rock before knows, hitting fairways are critical to scoring well. Missing greens can quickly ruin your score, and as Tommy Cucci would say pitching onto #4, "This is why I hate Pete Dye". That being said, on the 2nd tee Saturday the head of my hybrid felt a little loose in my practice swing, so I put it away and hit 5- iron. Besides two more 5-irons on #4 and #6, I hit driver for the rest of the day and missed 60-70% of fairways. What looked like a 92 somehow turned into a 76, highlighted by the Driver / 6 iron / 3- wood / chip-in birdie at #11. Tripp and I played another course in the afternoon, where after what felt like a great shot with my hybrid from the fairway, the head flew off, tumbled 30 some odd yards down the fairway until it made a We all got lucky that the weather held off until 30 minutes after the last group finished, and I'm sure at least half of us look forward to coming back to Bulle Rock for the 4th straight year. Congrats to all the winners (except NUNI) and most importantly, VIVA MONEY SHOT! Mr. William Bad Ass LaRiccia posted the top score of 78 on Sunday, so over two days of play the A- Flight only managed 3 scores below 80, and this further backs the decision for them to play at the Blue Tees from 6,334 yards with a wicked slope of 138. As Clint Eastwood quoted in Dirty Harry, A man has to know his limitations. During the Saturday night Calcutta, we auctioned off the top 8 net finishers from the Saturday B- Flight Round since that contest was much closer than A-Flight Run Away led by first year Money Shot Rookie, Brian Flynn. Walter Bearse the top seed in B-Flight after Round One s net 69 went for

4 the largest price at the Calcutta Auction for $210 sold to his long time buddy Richie Sunshine Hebb. The Tupperware Horse, Venkatesh Mantha the No. 2 Seed, was purchased by Lawrence Stetz for $150. Once the top 8 players were sold to Calcutta Owners we auctioned off the field. There was not much buzz about purchasing the Field Bet, which included all the remaining players in B-Class. The Chairman Art Moller would eventually purchase the field for $70, and win the overall pool for $655. High Bride Hills 2015 HBH Open on April 4 In an amazing come back, Steve Thompson s net 76 on Saturday placed him tied for 9th Place, and 7 shots behind B-Division Leader, Mr. Walter Bearse. On Sunday, Steve Thompson AKA The Enforcer posted a very solid net 69, and for the 36- holes was in at (+1 par). This 145 score topped the field wth Richie The Voice of Reason Cupparo s 145. However, Mr. Thompson would win the tie breaker decided by their last 9-hole net score. WOW from 9T to Champion was Thompson s Road as he started Sunday s play 7- strokes back!!! What seems even crazier the top 3 net finishers in B-Flight Thompson, Cupparo and Dapper Moore all were not in the Top 8 after day one. Marcus Dapper Moore of Doomsday, went from T13 to a 3 rd Place Finish overall. What caused this?... Pressure of holding the Lead from Day 1? Strong late afternoon winds?... Too much time to think things over with last starts on Sunday?... Who knows? Enforcer Feed For the past several years I have been dealing with a health issue that occasionally really affects my ability to play; come tee off on Saturday I was feeling like shit and had doubts about the round. I rode with Bill Bailey, my opponent was Rob Del Corpo; Rob rode with Rich Cupparo and it was a great foursome. My round started very shaky, my tee shot on #1 went about 40 yards but I was able to hole out for a bogey. As we played on I began to feel a little better; for the remaining 17 holes I managed to keep the ball in play, hit some good shots and make a few putts. At the end I was very lucky to win the match (on the last hole) over my good friend Rob and posted a gross 92, net 76. Come Sunday morning I was feeling much better and had a good warm-up session on the range. My opponent was Dave Friedman; with both of us playing well the match went back and forth and after the front 9, I m gross 41, net 33. The back 9 continued in the same manner and I m 1 up after 17; on #18 I hit the only bad drive of the day and hook the ball into the water. I finish the hole with a triple bogey 7, we tie the match and I finish gross 85 net 69. Now, with Walter Bearse leading the B-Flight after Saturday s round by 7 strokes at this point my only expectation was making the top 12 net and getting some additional points for the team. My teammates finish their Sunday round and we go 7 wins, 4 ties, 1 loss and the closest-to-the-pin point for the weekend. Later on at 10:45 pm I get a call that wakes me up, it s Craig. He tells me I won the B flight on a match of cards over Rich Cupparo (who had also posted a net 76 on Saturday and a 69 on Sunday); to say I was surprised was an understatement! Neither one of us had been in Saturday s B flight Top 8, we posted the same net score both days and finished 1 st and 2 nd. Add in

5 Bulle Rock is a great course, the weather cooperated and I won the closest-to-pin and the high handicap Ool Pool monies; it was a great weekend for myself and the team! The A-Flight Contest was not very much a contest at all. First year Rookie Brian Flynn, of Money Shot, stunned the field on Saturday with an impressive Net 64, 5-strokes ahead of the A- Division Runner Up, Jeff Hook of Doomsday who posted a Net 69, on Saturday. Mr. Flynn and Mr. Hook and Mr. Rosen at Net 71, were the only players in the A-Flight field to break net par. On Sunday Brian Flynn, who Professor Go Go felt would fold like a cheap tent on Sunday, held his ground and posted another phenomenal sub par net round at 69. He would win the A-Gold by a landslide of 6 stokes, and defeat the third place Net Bronze finisher, Bad Ass William, by a mind boggling 15-strokes. Chances are pretty good that no 3 rd Place Finisher ever finished 15 strokes off the lead who knows? The final three net scores in A- Flight were as follows: to settle down after the first 4 holes. I tried to play shot to shot and was able to halve my match. My playing partners and opponents made the experience very enjoyable. It is not easy for anyone holding a big lead like that in a two-day gig, to come out on Sunday and light things up again. In most there is this conservative lean to protecting the lead, which often results in relinquishing Brian Flynn does have one strong back bone. Flynn Feed I really enjoyed the Bulle Rock course layout and thought the greens rolled very true. The first day I played, my goal was to win my match and post a decent score. I tried to keep the ball in the fairway as much as possible and play within myself. I was able to birdie 15 and 17 on the first day and that gave me a boost heading into Day 2. I was a bit anxious at the start of Day 2 but was able
