After the start at around 200m BLOOD MOON ridden by Brett Doyle drifted slightly toward the right, interviewed & showed him the recording admitted the incident was due to no room to pass, the Stewards considered both were considered racing incidents. 13 Horses entering REHRC from outside of Bahrain The following to clarify the entry of horses into REHRC. This is part of our continuous improvement in Racing. Performance Criteria: 1. Horses purchased or acquired for racing at REHRC must be rated at an international level of 70 or greater. 2. As per the Rules of Racing 82, 83 & 84: a) Horses does not run for two years (two season) or more must be reclassified if it is intended to be entered for racing again. b) Horses whose names have been removed from the classification list must be reclassified before entry for racing. c) Horses, which have raced at the meeting outside Bahrain subsequently to classification by the handicapper prior to entry for racing. Veterinary Condition: 1. Veterinary Certificate of soundness to race from a registered veterinarian in a recognized racing authority. 2. Such Veterinary Certificate should be including the wind examination and health declaration prior to horse entering REHRC. Under the provision of Rule 24, the stewards may refuse to register any horse who fails to fulfill the terms and conditions set above. Quarantine: To ensure allocation, anyone acquiring a horse from outside of the Kingdom of Bahrain must: a) Complete an Import form. b) Complete and sign the Equine Quarantine Regulation. c) Forward a copy of each applicants passport (diagram and vaccination record pages) to Agriculture & Veterinary Affairs, Equine Section by fax to or btappendorf@mun.gov.bh at least 7 working days prior to importation. d) Veterinary List: (Rule ) Horse Trainer Embargo From To: date SILVER WOOD R.Al Baqlawa Bleeding Horse not fit for racing. 23 n) News International News: Press release Yutaka Take Receives the 2017 Longines and IFHA International Award of Merit Tokyo (Japan) / Saint-Imier (Switzerland), 21 December 2017 This year, the Longines and IFHA International Award of Merit has been given to Yutaka Take, one of the most successful jockeys of his time. The award ceremony was held in Tokyo ahead of the running of the Grade 1 Arima Kinen (The Grand Prix). Since its creation, the award honors distinguished personalities for their lifelong contributions to the world of horse racing. As the Official Partner and Official Watch of the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities, the Swiss watchmaker Longines was proud to present the 2017 Longines and IFHA International Award of Merit to renowned Japanese jockey Yutaka Take. He succeeds previous recipients Jim Bolger, leading Irish trainer, owner and breeder; France s Alec Head, past champion trainer and patriarch of prominent stud farm Haras du Quesnay; Seth Hancock of historic Claiborne Farm in America; the late Marcel Zarour Atanacio, former 23

24 chairman of the South American Organization for the Promotion of Thoroughbreds (OSAF); and the Romanet Family, long renowned leaders in both the French and international world of horseracing. The Award of Merit was created by Longines and the IFHA in order to honor public figures for their outstanding contribution to the world of horse racing. As Official Partner and Official Watch of the IFHA, Longines additionally awards several other prizes in recognition of excellence in this discipline in collaboration with the IFHA. The winners are honoured throughout the year in ceremonies attended by representatives from across the entire profession. During the Award of Merit ceremony, Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice President of Longines and Head of International Marketing, stated: Besides the Longines & IFHA Award of Merit, the successful collaboration between Longines and the IFHA has led to the creation of several other prizes awarded in recognition of excellence in all things equestrian, such as the Longines World s Best Jockey, which was presented two weeks ago to the Australian jockey Hugh Bowman, as well as the Longines World s Best Racehorse and the Longines World s Best Horse Race, whose ceremony will take place in London on 23 January Whether horse, jockey, race or public figure, all have a role to play in making each event unique and truly breathtaking.
