5 SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR A SERIES CONDUCTED IN HEATS, SEMI FINALS AND A FINAL Any series conducted in Heats, Semi s and s (excluding Breeders Classics and Maiden Thousand) shall be conducted in accordance with the conditions defined in the Feature Race Conditions for the event, subject to the following: No of Heats Semi s 7 or more or or In the event of insufficient nominations to conduct at least 3 Heats with at least 7 eligible nominations in each heat then no Heats will be conducted with 2 Semi s and a being conducted on the dates advertised for the Semi s and provided there are at least 7 eligible nominations for each Semi. The fields for the Semi s shall be selected from the nominations received for the Heats. If Semi s are not conducted then a only will be conducted on the date advertised for the provided there are at least 7 eligible nominations. In this case connections must renominate for the Only race. The greyhounds selected for the Only race shall be selected in accordance with the Grading Schedule with no preference being given to greyhounds which nominated previously for the series. The number of Heats scheduled for each series shall be the maximum number of Heats to be conducted. The number of Heats to be conducted shall be reduced in accordance with the number of eligible nominations received as per the Heats/ Nominations table. SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR A FEATURE EVENT CONDUCTED WITHOUT HEATS Any Feature Event scheduled to be conducted without Heats shall only be conducted provided there are at least 7 eligible nominations unless Tasracing, in exceptional circumstances, grants approval for the event to be conducted with fewer eligible nominations. HEATS/NOMINATIONS TABLE Minimum Number of Eligible Nominations Number of Heats STATE AGRA NATIONAL SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIP - The conditions and eligibility for this series shall be determined by AGRA (over 515 metres). Heats with six (6) eligible nominations are permitted to be conducted for this series. STATE AGRA NATIONAL DISTANCE CHAMPIONSHIP - The conditions and eligibility for this series shall be determined by AGRA (over 720 metres). Heats with six (6) eligible nominations are permitted to be conducted for this series. YOUNG STAR CLASSIC - A best series restricted to greyhounds whelped on or after 1/8/2013 to be conducted in Heats and a over 461 in each Heat qualifying for the. EBONY MINDA STRAIGHT TRACK A Free-to-All race to be conducted over 720 NOEL VINCE MEMORIAL - over 461 GEORGE & EILEEN JOHNSTON PUPPY CHAMPIONSHIP - N.W.G.R.C. A best series restricted to greyhounds whelped on or after 1/9/2013 to be conducted in Heats and a over 452 in each Heat qualifying for the. STEVE KING LADIES BRACELET - A best series restricted to bitches to be conducted in Heats and a over 515 in each Heat qualifying for the. RICHARD STAMFORD PERPETUAL STAKES A Free-to-All race to be conducted over 720 BOTTLEY GREEN MEMORIAL MAIDEN A best 8 race restricted to Maiden greyhounds over the age of 2 years to be conducted over 461 LAUNCESTON TASMANIAN BREEDERS CLASSIC - A series for Tasmanian bred greyhounds whelped on or after 1/9/2013 to be conducted in Qualifying Heats, Semi s and a over 515 Qualifying Heats shall be conducted provided there are 33 or more greyhounds nominated and eligible for the Series. The number of Qualifying Heats to be held will be sufficient to cater for all eligible nominations with full fields (or as close to full fields as possible). There shall be 4 Semi s conducted. Should there be fewer than 33 greyhounds nominated and eligible for the Series then Qualifying Heats will not be conducted and the greyhounds nominated shall be deemed nominated for the Semi s. In this case there will sufficient Semi s conducted to cater for all eligible nominations. The number of greyhounds qualifying to proceed through the series shall be dependent on the number of Qualifying Heats and/or Semi s conducted. In the case of the Breeder being a disqualified or warned off person at the time a breeders bonus for this series is won the bonus will be forfeited. In the case of a partnership then only the percentage of the bonus which is payable to the disqualified or warned off breeder shall be forfeited. A greyhound which has won a of a Breeders Classic Series is not eligible to compete in this series. MINISTER S GIFT N.W.G.R.C bred greyhounds that are Grades 3 or 4 or 5 (sprint) at all three tracks, to be conducted in Heats at Devonport over 452 metres, a second series of Heats at Hobart over 461 metres and a at Launceston over 515 It is anticipated that there will be 8 Heats over 452 metres at Devonport with the greyhounds contesting those Heats contesting the second series of Heats over 461 metres at Hobart. The greyhounds to contest the first heats will be selected by adding together the Order of Choice of each greyhound at both Devonport and Hobart and dividing by 2. A greyhound contesting the first series of Heats is also deemed nominated for the second series of Heats and (if they qualify) for the. The reserves for the first Heats that do not obtain a start shall also be named reserves for the second Heats. In the event of a late scratching from the first series of Heats then the reserve to contest the second series of Heats shall be drawn by lot from the full list of reserves that were named but not withdrawn and did not obtain a start in the first series of Heats. The selection of a greyhound as a Reserve for more than one Heat in the second series of Heats, apart from any so named for the first series of Heats, shall be selected by lot in the following order: All the greyhounds listed as reserve for one heat only as reserve for two heats only as reserve for three heats only, etc Any wins outside the series after a greyhound contests a Heat of the series shall not affect the eligibility of the greyhound for any future Heat or the of the series. Points shall be awarded to each greyhound contesting and completing a Heat on the following basis:- 1 st rd th th nd th th th - 0 dead heating for a placing then the points shall be added together and divided equally between those greyhounds dead heating. Except in the case of a no race or an abandoned race, a greyhound must contest both sets of heats to be eligible for and/or listed in the field to contest the. Subject to the previous condition, the eight greyhounds accumulating the highest aggregate of points in the Heats shall be deemed qualified for the with the two greyhounds with the next highest aggregate of points being named as reserves. having the same aggregate points thereby resulting in more than eight starters and/or two reserves then the greyhounds to contest the (or be named as reserves) shall be drawn by lot. Winning greyhounds will incur only one penalty for the series with the penalty applicable to the track at which the greyhound first wins in the series. HOTELS MIDDLE DISTANCE CHAMPIONSHIP - A best series restricted to Grade 5 and Grade 4 (mid distance) greyhounds at and a over 600 It is anticipated 2 Heats will be conducted with the first four placegetters in each Heat qualifying for the. VIRBAC VETSEARCH TASBRED MAIDEN - N.W.G.R.C. bred All-Age Maiden greyhounds to be conducted in Heats and a over 452 It is anticipated that 5 Heats will be conducted with the winner in each Heat and the three fastest seconds qualifying for the. A greyhound which wins a race outside the Series is ineligible to further compete in the series. M A MORGAN ST. LEGER - A best series restricted to dogs whelped on or after 1/4/2013 to be conducted in Heats and a over 461 It is anticipated that 3 Heats will be in each Heat and the two fastest thirds qualifying for the. BIG MOOSE LAURELS - A best series restricted to bitches whelped on or after 1/4/2013 to be conducted in Heats and a over 461 It is anticipated that 3 Heats will be in each Heat and the two fastest thirds qualifying for the.
