8 BULLI A special mention has to go out to all track curators and staff after the wild weather across the state of the past two weeks caused havoc to the racing schedule. Track staff have worked hard at numerous tracks to get things back up and running. This was evident again at Bulli last Wednesday when torrential rain hit the area an hour before the race meeting but due to some experience and quick work from track staff the Bulli meeting went ahead with some fantastic racing. The nights feature race the Temora to Bulli final was taken out by Wing Attack for Wagga trainer Dave Cox in a thrilling race. It was great to see all the trainers from the Riverina turn up for the race and Bulli will continue its involvement with Temora in to the new racing season. The distance racing at Bulli has created new interest and Martin Clegg for Julie Fletcher went back to back at the Bulli 590m journey. The eye catching run in this race was Knocka s Return and look for him in future 590m events. Training honours on the night went to Jenny Brown who left with a winning double after Jenmar Panther and Windaroo Lad both took the chequered flag. There were a couple of nice youngsters who broke there maiden status in impressive fashion with Zambora Brockie clocking for the 400m trip for Anthony Azzopardi and Lord Golec looks to be a stayer of the future running a brilliant in a 515m event for Mick Eberand. With the Bulli Gold Cup only weeks away Natural player for Mark Wilcox was a strong winner as was Avenging Gun for Anthony Teofilo with a cup heat start likely for the pair. The Kim Mulrine prepared Sapphire Madam made it a hatrick of Bulli wins on the trot and Mathew Matic booted home the last winner of the night Windswept. There will be a change to the Bulli trial schedule in May Bulli Racing Friday Night May 22 nd (No morning trials). Bulli will trial on Thursday May 21 st under the normal Friday conditions. Bulli Racing Friday Night May 29 th. (No morning trials) Bulli will trial on Thursday May 28 th under the normal Friday conditions. Tuesday trial sessions will remain as per normal. The Bulli Gold Cup and supporting events are fast approaching in May and you can get details off the Bulli Website. There is a fantastic range of events to be run so check out the programme. The boxes have now become popular for young pups with the new timing.
