If the combination of entries includes differing sizes, the committee shall at its discretion determine the equitable price to be charged. Please note entry forms for tanks should be sent in together. The High Quality transparent plastic bags are available for collection for koi sizes ranging from 15 BU 45 BU, please collect plastic bags from Mr Pang Hon Seong,- HP no and indicate the number of each size bag required. All SKC members will be entitled to a one off $40 credit against their entry fee. While we prefer to have only Club members participate in the 5th Young Koi Show ( 5th YKS ), non Members who participate in the 5th Young Koi Show through their respective dealers may have the koi Owner's name on the winning certificate changed to their name on the payment of SGD to the Club for processing fee.

The closing date for all entries is 24th November Late entries may be submitted after the closing date, but a late entry charge of $30 per koi will be imposed provided all late entries submitted by latest 27 th November Your cooperation is requested to submit your entries as early as possible to assist in our logistics/operations. Completed entry forms and cheques to be made payable to THE KOI CLUB (SINGAPORE) and delivered by hand to Mr Pang Hon Seong,- HP no Entries without payment will not be accepted. All Associate Members who have pledged their cash contribution for the show are requested to make cheque payment by latest 27 th November Cheques should be crossed and made payable to THE KOI CLUB (SINGAPORE). 3. The Show Committee and/or the designated Vet on duty reserves the right to reject and/or remove any koi, which is found to be sick, diseased or unsuitable for the show. 4. The competition is open to members only. Non-members who wish to take part are requested to submit their membership applications before 24 th November Membership forms are available at telephone no.: Entries from overseas may be accepted at the discretion of the Show Committee by invitation only. 5. Competitors need not submit photographs of their koi together with their Show Entry Forms. Photographs will only be needed during BENCHING on 1 st December Please note: Competitors MUST submit 4 non-returnable photographs (4R size) during benching. KOI WITHOUT PROPER PHOTOGRAPHS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITION. 6. The following details must be printed clearly on the back of each photograph, eg., 2 Owner : John Ong Handler : XYZ Koi Farm Pte Ltd Group/classification : Group 1/Kohaku Size (cm 64) : BU Every Koi Plastic Bag must be accompanied by a control number sticker, control number will be issue to every participant prior to the show. For control number and sticker, please contact Mr Thomas Lim at HP no The actual size of koi shall be measured by the owner/handler and shall be on a selfdeclaration basis. If the incorrect size is detected once judging has commenced, the koi will automatically be disqualified and will not be eligible for any prize award. Competitors are urged to be accurate when stating the actual size, ie., --cm of their koi. 9. The size of the photographs must be 4R. Four copies of each photograph should clearly show the koi occupying at least two-thirds of the photograph. Only blue coloured tubs should be used as a background. As these same photographs would also be printed onto all Prize Winning Certificates, please submit proper and clear photos of your koi. 10. Benching will be from 7am to 8.30am on Saturday, 1 st December No koi will be accepted after 8.30am on 1 st December All members and dealers are encouraged to submit the maximum number of koi provided they have sufficient manpower to back up during benching, transportation to the judging arena, and de-benching. 12. Self-benching In the interests of the health of the koi, the owners or owners representatives will be responsible for their koi. With the risks of KHV it is essential that koi/water is not transferred across tanks. Participants/owners/dealers are to use their own nets and plastic bags.
3 3 13. Transportation for judging The owners or owners representatives will have 5 minutes per judging class to bag and transport koi in transportation vats on wheels to the judging arena. Judging for the 15 to 45 Bu categories will be in transparent plastic bags. Nets are to be provided by owners for koi 50 bu and above. Mobile Transportation vats to be provided by the club with a maximum of 5 pieces. The winners of the major prizes will be placed in individual tanks whereas all other koi (inclusive of minor prize winners) will be placed back in owner s tanks. Major prize winners will be escorted by a representative of the club to ensure correct placement in the Winners vats. 14. Trophy presentations will be done at 4pm, Saturday 1 st December 2012 at show site. Competitors are requested to be properly attired when receiving trophies. (No shorts and slippers). Certificates shall be issued at a later date. All winners are requested to be present but should they be unable to attend, they may nominate another adult to collect the prizes on their behalf. Please note that the Club shall not be responsible for any unclaimed prizes. 15. The Club cannot and shall not be held responsible for any theft, loss, damage or death of any koi due to whatever reasons. 16. Competitors are requested not to feed their koi for at least 7 days prior to the show. This is to prevent pollution of water in the display tanks, which may endanger the health of other koi sharing the same tank. 17. All koi may only be removed from the display tanks on Saturday 1 st December 2012 from 5pm onwards or earlier as decided by the Show Committee on the day. The Show Committee shall not be responsible for any koi not collected after 7pm. 18. Koi, which are found to be unhealthy, deformed or injured, shall not be allowed to participate in the competition. In the event of a dispute on the physical condition of any koi, the Show Committee and/or the Vet s decision shall be final. 19. Any koi found to have a docked or deliberately shortened tail fin shall be disqualified immediately. 20. After all the judging has been completed, all prize winners must check the white boards at the show site to ensure that the postings are in order. Should there be any errors, please inform the registration counter immediately. 21. In the event of any disputes, the Show Committee shall be the sole authority for the interpretation of Show Rules and Regulations. 22. The judges decisions are final. No further correspondence will be entertained. 23. TROPHIES AND AWARDS Trophies & Certificates 12 trophies) 1. 6 6 Judging Procedures Grand Champion, 1 st and 2 nd Runners-up The qualified judges will select at least five Koi from 60-bu and above, The qualified judges will then select 1 st, 2 nd & 3 rd placing by ballot with the Head Judge having the casting vote. The unplaced Koi will then be placed back in the tanks for further competition. Only the qualified judges may stand against the selection tank for proper viewing. The Judges will be stationed at the Judging Area and the Koi will be brought to them for adjudication. The Judging Area will be strictly off limits to spectators except for Judges and officials. The Judging Area is also be designated a No Smoking area. Size Judging The judging team shall select the first three places for each variety within their respective groupings. The selected Koi must be truly representative of the respective variety and should the Koi not meet the required standard, the judges may at their discretion decide not to award any prizes. If an incorrect size of Koi is detected during judging i.e. the Koi is too large for its size grouping, then the Koi will automatically be disqualified. Best-in-Size Gosanke (Kohaku, Sanke, Showa, Utsurimono) The respective judging teams will select the Best-in-Size from all the 1 st placed winners of the varieties. This must be done upon completion of the judging within that size category. Best-in-Size Non-Gosanke The respective judging team will select the Best-in-Size Non-Gosanke from all the 1 st placed Koi other than Gosanke, Utsurimono. Grand Champion (Non Gosanke) Only the qualified judges will select at least three Non-Gosanke Koi from 60-bu and above. The Judges have the right to select from other size groupings if they feel the lack of quality in the 60-bu and 65-bu warrants it. Judging will be by ballot and not by show of hands. Young Champion & Young Champion (Non Gosanke) All qualified judges will select one Koi from the Best-in-Size winners of 50-bu and 55-bu. Judging will be by ballot and not by show of hands. The Head Judge will have the casting vote in the event of a tie. Junior Champion & Junior Champion (Non Gosanke) All qualified judges will select one Koi from the Best-in-Size winners of 40-bu and 45-bu. Judging will be by ballot and not by show of hands. The Head Judge will have the casting vote in the event of a tie. Baby Champion & Baby Champion (Non Gosanke) All qualified judges will select one Koi from the Best-in-Size winners of 25-bu, 30-bu and 35-bu. Judging will be by ballot and not by show of hands. The Head Judge will have the casting vote in the event of a tie. Mini Champion & Mini Champion (Non Gosanke) All qualified judges will select one Koi from the Best-in-Size winners of 15-bu and 20-bu. Judging will be by ballot and not by show of hands. The Head Judge will have the casting vote in the event of a tie.
7 7 Trophies & Certificates Trophies and Certificates will be awarded as follows: Grand Champion, 1 st Runner-up, 2 nd Runner-up, Young Champion, Junior Champion, Baby Champion, Mini Champion, Best-in-Size-Gosanke, Best-in-size-Non Gosanke and 1 st,, 2 nd & 3 rd In-variety Judges Protocol The following guidelines should be applied: Judges shall wear shirt and tie with ZNA crest. Judges shall refrain from wearing watches, jewelry or similar sharp objects during judging. Judges shall refrain from wearing tinted spectacles. Judges shall refrain from touching the koi from vat to vat to prevent spread of diseases. In the event of doubt, to check with show advisors. Judges are not permitted to make pond visits, visits to dealers, or visits to the Show site prior to the Show. A tea break will be at 10:30 AM with snacks served, thereafter judging will continue. There will be a lunch break at 12 noon to 1 PM. We anticipate judging to be completed by 3:00 PM. The Show Chairman may, by mutual consent request schedule changes. Debenching Once all fish are accounted for, the entrant MUST sign acceptance that debenching was completed satisfactorily. In the event of a dispute none of the entrant s fish may be removed from the show venue until the matter is resolved.
