3 From the Editor The hot weather seems to be gone, thank heavens, and we are back in full swing at the office. Our office hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. We are gearing up for our first Judges Seminar in La Porte, Texas. This very exciting event will give our Judges the opportunity to learn in hands-on classes on the correct conformation and movement of our breed. Aunique Ranch donated the facility and horses for this event. Horses that will be presented to the judges will not be shown for judging within 90 days after this event. We thank the Schlenks for their support of this event and this Registry. We are thrilled that so many people are getting their registrations in but the seasonally heavy workload, the magazine and preparations for the World Show have paperwork backing up in the office. Thank you for your patience! If you have the time to come to the office to help with computer input, filing and general office help, we (and your fellow Registry members!) would greatly appreciate it! 6 Wayfarer Farm Bill and Kathi Dunn, Danville, NH This July Wayfarer s Porsche, A , went to the Waldingfield Horse Driving Trials in Massachusetts. One of the country s oldest HDTs, the horse-driver team competition benefited Essex County Trail Association. Porsche s trainer Mary Gray, driving, was a one-woman Gypsy Horse promotion all day! Region 1 Bud Hartman We decided to put Porsche in the Preliminary Division and our faith in her proved well founded. Porsche had one of the best Dressage tests of the day. Our sights are now set on Vermont in August for the GMHA Combined Driving Event, and then we look forward to The Laurels in Pennsylvania and the Kentucky Classic. Wherever she goes, Porsche continues to prove that Gypsy Horses can do the job correctly, quietly and with undeniable crowd appeal. Trainer Mary Gray is a five-time member of Team USA, which represents the United States in the Para Equestrian World Driving Championships, held every two years in Europe. Next July the Championship will be held in France. Mary and Porsche are hoping to be chosen for the 2012 Team. We will keep you posted on their road to France! Lanie Davis Dun BoDee Princely Inheritance, B , and our daughter, Nikki Davis-London, were a great crowd pleaser at the Clearfield County Fair in Pennsylvania. 10 Oklahoma State Fair Gypsy Horse Show The show was a huge success for the next generation of GHRyA. While we still had Simona Forsyth, Gracie Hearon and Hallie Hearon performing on their usual mounts and winning lots of ribbons, the generation after them took the Oklahoma State Fair by storm. Gypsy Horse Registry Youth Association McHale Howell, Emory Smalley, Isabella Hearon and Ava Smalley made their riding débuts in the leadline class. Five-yearold McHale Howell on CDF Miss Daisy, A , led the way into the arena with the crowd cheering. Emory Smalley and 4C Little Gypsy Fable Then entering the arena waving and blowing kisses was our next rider, 4-year-old Emory Smalley, riding 4C Little Gypsy Fable, A McHale Howell and CDF Miss Daisy Next in, riding CDF Heza Corker, A , was 4-year-old Isabella Hearon, who wowed the crowd with her reining skill. Last in a class of six participants, astonishing the crowd, was 3-year-old Ava Smalley riding her favorite mount, LadiBug s Mum (4C Maladi, A ). Ooohs and ahhs from the audience followed these youth around the arena until they rode up to their positions to be judged. Then came the judge s almost impossible decision: 5th place, Emory Smalley on Fable; 4th Place, Ava Smalley on Maladi; 3rd place, McHale Howell on Daisy; placing 2nd was Bella Hearon on Corky. What an amazing and remarkable future the Gypsy Horse Registry Youth Association has! Isabella Hearon and CDF Heza Corker Ava Smalley and 4C Maladi Please send all your youth photos and stories to our GHRyA Youth Chairman, Brenda Hearon, at cottoncandieh@aol.com Youth Showmanship... Gracie Hearon, who is 10, and 8-year-old Hallie Hearon completed another very successful Youth Showmanship Class in Gypsy Horse Show at the Oklahoma State Fair. Showing CDF Miss Daisy, Gracie placed fourth in a class of five older participants. Hallie with 4C Little Gypsy Fable placed second to a 16-year-old. Great job, girls! Hallie also made a fan; Express Clydesdales asked her to show their recently purchased filly, 4C Miss LadiBug, in the Mare Yearling and Weanling Class. Hallie placed 3rd out of 10 with this beautiful little filly. Congratulations, Express Clydesdales and Hallie! There will be a Youth Showmanship class for the first time at the GHRA World Show. We hope to see many of our GHRyA youth competing. Gypsy Horse World Magazine Volume 9 No 3 Page 10

WA R N I N G UNDER TEXAS LAW (CHAPTER 87, CIVIL PRACTICE AND REMEDIES CODE), A LIVESTOCK SHOW SPONSOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR AN INJURY TO OR THE DEATH OF A PARTICIPANT IN A LIVESTOCK SHOW RESULTING FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF LIVESTOCK SHOW ACTIVITIES. 36. Objectionable Exhibits. The Management reserves the right to remove from the grounds any exhibit, animal, stand or show that may be falsely entered, or may be deemed unsuitable or objectionable, without assigning a reason, therefore, and, if necessary, to return any money already paid for space or stalls, which return shall exonerate the Exposition from any claims whatsoever on the part of the exhibitor or purchaser. 37. Conflicts. Nothing shall be sold or given away or otherwise disposed of by exhibitors which will in any way conflict with, or which is subject matter of, any privilege or concession granted or sold by the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show. No person will be permitted to distribute advertising matter upon the grounds, except from his place of business or exhibit space. The tacking or posting of any advertisement, bills, etc., other than within the space occupied by exhibits, is strictly prohibited. The distribution of handbills, flyers, and heralds will not under any circumstance be permitted. Begging, soliciting, singing, or public speaking are positively prohibited. JUDGES RULES Judges are earnestly requested to familiarize themselves with all the rules and regulations of this Show and to especially note those rules bearing on the classes to be judged by them. 38. Selection of Judges. Judges will be selected by the Exposition in cooperation with the breed associations. In every case, the judge is selected with the utmost care and, as far as possible, will be of national reputation. 39. Decision of Judges Final. The decision of the judges will be final in all cases, except where mistake, fraud, misrepresentation or collusion, not discovered at the time of awards, is proven. In such cases, the Management or such referee as it may appoint may make the decision, or the case may be referred to the Executive Committee, from whose decision there can be no appeal. 40. Interference with Judges. If any exhibitor, in any way, whether in person or by agent, or servants, interferes with the judges, or shows any disrespect to them, or the Show, or the show management or GHRA officials, the Management may demand a proper apology from such exhibitor, or it may exclude the exhibitor from competition and from the ring and may also withhold from such exhibitor premiums that may have been awarded. 41. Time of Judging. The Livestock Judging Program as published in this Premium List will be followed as closely as possible. Exhibitors should ascertain at what time the exhibits entered will be judged. Any exhibit not presented promptly at scheduled time will be ruled out and barred from competition in the class called. No complaint or protest on the grounds that the judges overlooked exhibits will be considered. 42. Special Awards. When determining specific breed special awards, each breed association s rules shall apply. Other special awards will be awarded as outlined in this Premium List. Please see 2012 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Premium List 2012 for updated information on FWSSR current rules and regulations. advertisement
