8 Proston Stockman s Classic Steward: Mary Ramke This competition is open to all working horses and NOT restricted to registered horses. All paid nominations close on Saturday 2 nd March Paid nominations must be registered to allow for appropriate cattle numbers. See pages 33 &34 for Nomination and Waiver forms. Starting Time: Competition starts at approximately 1.00pm. The number of entrants will determine commencement time CONDITIONS OF ENTRY Complaints directed solely to the Chief Steward Junior competitors (17years and Under) to wear helmets Horses must compete in each discipline to be eligible for championship Judge s decision is final 1. 10 WORK OUTS Work Outs are to be completed as follows for all Classes: DRY WORKING JUNIOR (see page 32 for course diagram) 1. Salute Judge at A; walk to B 2. Rising trot to C, (centre). Stop spin to the right; 360 spin to the left 4. Trot a medium circle to the right. Trot a medium circle to the left 5. At C canter a large circle to the right on the right lead 6. At C do a simple change and canter a large circle to the left on the left lead 7. At C do a simple change and canter to E on the right lead. Stop 8. Do a rollback to the left and canter to F on the left lead. Stop 9. Do a rollback to the right and canter on the right lead all the way to G and stop 10. Back your horse until you are in line with the Judge. Stop 11. Turn and face the Judge, salute. Leave arena on a loose rein DRY WORKING SENIOR (see page 32 for course diagram) 1. Enter arena at A, acknowledge Judge, walk to centre on loose rein cracking whip 2. Two spins right 3. Two spins left 4. Canter small slow circle to right, canter large fast to right 5. Flying change, canter large fast to left 6. Canter small slow circles to left 7. Flying change, canter large fast right, do not close circle 8. Run down and stop between centre line and B. Rollback to the left, canter around the arena 9. Run down and stop between centre line and C rollback to right, canter to end of arena, turn down centre line 10. Canter down and stop at least 3 metres past centre line, Settle horse, back up to centre acknowledge Judge and leave arena at walk on loose rein OBSTACLE COURSE (Juniors Only) (see page 32 for course diagram) 1. Walk to Gate on loose rein, pass through gate keeping hand on gate at all times 2. From gate Trot over poles 3. From poles Trot through markers 4. Canter left lead and over hay 5. Stop at ramp and walk over 6. Then turn and canter right lead around markers to Drum 7. At Drum pick up coat and Trot small circle around Drum then place coat on Drum 8. From Drum continue to A and Stop, walk back to Judge on a loose rein CATTLE CUT OUT (Seniors Only) Judge to give direction and briefing prior to cut out 1. Competitors enter area and select a beast out from the mob 2. Cut out will be based on a normal Campdraft cut out JUNIOR COMPETITORS CHALENGE for riders under 17 (see page 33 for course diagram) 1. Walk from Judge to A 2. Trot a circle to the right back to A 3. Trot a circle to the left back to B Canter a circle to the right back to A 5. Change lead 6. Canter a circle to the left back to B 7. Halt at B 8. Back 4 paces 9. Acknowledge and salute the judge, leave the area on a loose rein 31
