3 CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 1. ALL competitors must either be a SHC-SA Inc. member or member of another SHC affiliate (e.g. SHC Competitors Association) at the time of competition or must pay $10 day membership, and sign insurance waiver prior to competing. 2. Riders must wear approved hats (ASNZ 3838 / EN 1384 or above) and appropriate boots at all times while riding. 3. The judge s decision is final there is to be no approach to the judge unless authorised by the convener or steward. 4. Competition Rules: All competitors are expected to read, follow and comply with the SHC of Australasia Competition Rules, Social Media policy and Member Protection Policy. Please familiarise yourself with the rules that you are bound to on the SHC of Australasia website see link below Liability: Neither the organising committee, the SHC nor the owners/lessees of the venue accept any liability for accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, persons or property whatsoever. Horse Riding is a dangerous sport and competitors ride at their own risk. 6. No stallions or colts permitted on the show grounds. 7. Catering will be available on the day by the Catering Vans. 8. Competitors in Affiliated Rings can not compete in unaffiliated (encourage) ring. Competitors in the encourage ring cannot also compete in the Affiliated Ring. Standardbred and Thoroughbred rings are open to any competitors who meet the ring criteria. 9. Protests must be lodged in writing, together with a $50.00 fee, no later than half an hour after the incident which gives rise to the dispute. The deposit will only be refunded if the protest is upheld by the committee. 10. Affiliated Horses can ONLY compete as either Show Hack or Show Hunter for the season 01/01/19 31/12/19 with SHC-SA and SHC Comp. Assoc. Shows. Only then can competitors change sections if they wish. This is ruling from SHC of Australasia Inc. 11. Gates will be open from 6.30am. 12. SHC Classic Classes: Winners of Champion or Reserve Champion in the Show Hack & Show Hunter Ridden section are reminded that they now qualify for competition in the SHC Classic Classes at the 2019 SHC-SA HOTY Show. 13. Hot Weather Policy: Please check the forecasted temp for Mt Pleasant on Sun 13/01/19 if over 35 degrees on Sat night on channel 9 the show will be cancelled. To make the show run faster in the hotter months some classes may be judged on the circle. Please be sun smart & sensible when showing in the warmer weather and remember welfare of your horse (i.e. plenty of water, limit work, rest in the shade where possible). 14. DEFINITIONS Newcomer - Horse that is in its first season (12mths of competition under saddle) can t have competed under saddle before 1 st January Childs Mount For riders under 17yrs. Childs Shetland rider 14yrs & under. First Ridden for riders 5 yrs and under 12 yrs. RISK MANAGEMENT CONDITIONS Approved safety helmets and Boots are to be worn at all times Riding of Horses Bareback is prohibited Riding horses rugged is prohibited Dogs must be on a lead at all times and under suitable control No one should be holding horses while sitting or lying down Speed Limits in the showgrounds must be adhered to at all times Power Leads must not cross roads or tracks Horses must not be kept in Tape yards No Smoking by riders whilst mounted on a horse Horses must be ridden at a walk through the parking area Cars and Floats must be parked at a reasonable distance from each other in the car park- allowing at least 2 horses width A Horse that is behaving dangerously and putting others at risk must be dismounted and may be asked to leave the grounds, if they fail to comply with this rule- This applies to all areas of the showgrounds- not just in the competition arena Any Hazards, issues or accidents should be reported to the show secretary ASAP to follow up on
