Steve does not feel the BoD s approval conformed with the standards specified in the current ByLaws. III PRESIDENT REPORT Open House if you weren t there, you missed a great time. Rob told the BoD how pleased and happy he was. We had a tremendous turn-out, discipline demos and good weather. Rob applauded the Open House committee. He showed the AGC t-shirts and randomly awarded 4 shirts to the members in the audience throughout the meeting. AGC caps are for sale for $10. One complaint was brought up by several Board members: a bunch of people went out for beers and the president didn t show up. The next round is on him! Thank you to Dave s Guns, Glock pistols (next year we will supply ammo), and Archery Adventures. Next year will be even bigger and even better. It was a great example of bring something back to the members Thanks to Sether for designing the hats & shirts and also for coordinating the event with Bennett's BBQ. IV MEMBERS FORUM

3 D Ames seconded Rob s report. The open house was well organized. I had a good time and hope it happens again next year. Very appreciative. McPherson Just for information, when the National Guard came in for Katrina they disarmed every citizen it could find in the city of New Orleans. This seemed to violate our 2 nd amendment rights. He sees no reason for this unless they were criminals. Compton Ricochets: Jim would like to see the test results of the range study. Adams has contacted Benskin & Bratton and has delegated the correction work to them. Nothing has been done and Adams has not been contacted. Ames, Dankowski, Immel & Rathburn will be the committee to work on this. Humbargar suggested that we make a motion to set a deadline for correction. Rathburn would like to offer a deadline and offer a hand as a work-party is formed. Would like it to be finished prior to the October shoot. Discussion on possible solutions. Rob recommends calling Bratton and setting up a time a MOTION: That the recommended corrections be implemented to the.22 silhouette range by the October shoot (10/17 3 rd Saturday) or the discipline shoot will be discontinued until the corrections are made. Seconded. Discussion. Motion passes. V FINANCIAL REPORT Treasurer s report: As of 09/01, income: 212,136.97, cost of sales: 78,683.06, gross profit: 133,453.91, total expenses: 83,841.78, net income: 49, Maintenance as of 09/01 11, & reimbursements: 3, b MOTION: To extend the range budget maintenance by $10,000 to cover upcoming expenses. Seconded. Discussion. Motion Passes. VI OLD BUSINESS 1 st VP: none. Caretaker s house is looking good! Thanks to Davis and all the members who have worked on the project.. Immel: Open house: We had a good discipline turn-out and gave away 4 shotguns. There was a lot of hard work put into this and a lot of good ideas put on the table. Chin: Caretaker: We have received 5 applications for the caretaker s position. I would like to interview on September 24 th to find someone qualified to take that position. The personnel Board (Rathburn & Davis) will conduct the interviews. Miller: purchased used computer for clubhouse, with a 6 month guarantee & XP operating system. We should have a printer by this weekend. VII NEW BUSINESS Club Cashier: Kathy is requesting Microsoft Office for the new computer & printer c MOTION: To purchase Microsoft Office for the clubhouse computer. Seconded. Discussion. Visnak and miller pointed out that it is illegal to copy an existing Microsoft program. Fowler stated he does not believe in spending money for the item when we don t need too. Miller stated I m not going to be part of anything illegal. Motion passes. Chin: Election: I m working with Karen and getting the mechanics on how to conduct this election in peace. Olive, Silva, Boyd and Kelley have volunteered to count the votes. Chin requested any other BoD suggestions d MOTION: That the Board accept those names as the election committee that counts the votes. Seconded. Discussion. Motion passes. Humbargar: Would like this added to the newsletter. I received a phone call from an upset club member. He bought a brand new rifle and accidentally left it at the range. He came back with me and the gun was gone. Another member (Len Johnson) found the gun and came to the open house and returned it to the member. I would like to thank Johnson for his honesty and safeguarding the rifle until it could be found. Suggestion: we post lost items in the newsletter. Fowler: He is aware of a number of letters sent to the BoD about berm usage. Steve feels it would be appropriate to pass the letters around to all Board members. Rob responded that any letters addressed to the BoD are already given to BoD members. OTHER BUSINESS Compton: Jim said that he lives close by. He would be happy to go out to the range and receive any items accidentally left there..

4 Rathburn: Please send agenda items 10 days in advance, prior to the meeting so that he can pass the agenda out to the BoD one week prior to the meeting. Smallegan: Morgan Carroll would like to attend October s meeting. Morgan is the State Representative, a democrat that favors 2 nd amendment and would like to hear concerns from gun club members. VIII ADJOURNMENT MOTION TO ADJOURN. SECONDED. MOTION PASSES. PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE - Bill Chin, Board of Directors, Club Secretary Wow! If you missed our first annual AGC Open House, you missed a great time. The member turnout was fantastic! Good food, great door prizes and a chance to try the various disciplines hosted at our club. Hats off to all the discipline volunteers who participated, you really made the day special. Thanks to Board of Directors Richard Immel, Gary Ames, Bill Chin, Terry Humbargar, Randy Still and Greg Sether (cool hats and shirts Greg!) for the hard work on making this event such a tremendous success. A special thanks to Dave's Guns for the firearms display, Glock USA for an exhibit of their fine products and Archery of America for helping with the archery demo. I would also like to thank Dave's Guns, Glock and K2 Firearms Training Center for the door prizes. Let's do this again next year. I would also like to take a minute to thank all those who have volunteered so much time and effort in remodeling the caretaker's house. Board member A.J. Davis has been the ramrod of this extensive project. The place looks great! We will be holding interviews in mid September to fill the vacant caretaker's position, and the "new" house should make it easier to attract a top notch candidate. We have added a range shed for the 200 yard rifle range. This will be a support facility for the various disciplines which use that range, Military Rifle, CMP Matches and Military Action Rifle Shooting, which will start in the spring. Speaking of rifle ranges, check out the brand new concrete benches on the 100 yard line! Great work and many, many thanks to all those volunteers. Repairs have been made to the club house and additions made to enhance security. We also have a new awning and the porch iron work has been painted. (Once again, thanks A.J., Terry and Bill) We have replaced and upgraded our office equipment. Firearms will no longer be stored on our property. Short term projects include emergency repairs to the.22 Silhouette berm and I want to thank the Cowboy and NRA silhouette shooters for their cooperation and help with these needed changes. Shoring is also needed around the classroom building due to soil erosion. We have formed a committee, chaired by Chief Range Officer Joe Huber, of representatives from all the disciplines who use steel to formulate rules and guidelines for the proper use of steel targets during matches. In closing, I want to remind all members of the November election and the important Club By-Laws vote, and to thank the membership for your support in making our club the finest shooting facility in Colorado. 8 AURORAGUNCLUB.COM Our web page AuroraGunClub.com is up and running. If you would like to stop receiving the newsletter via US Mail or and view it on the web site, contact Karen Sudduth at MILITARY BOLT ACTION BENCH REST July s match was replaced with elk scouting.no one asked me! Well its just as well, I only hunt paper! The August match was well attended with seven shooters. The rust was visible as the groups for stage one and two were not up to the standards we have seen in the past. Small group in the first string was Richard Immel s 2.5 (remember that name!) closely followed by a 2.8 from Wade Maddox and Doug Ruegg shot a 3.6 for third. Second string for group saw Wade in first with a 2.6 with Richard in second with a 3.3 and my 4 qualified for third. Heck more like shotgun patterns! Score shooting got serious quick. Doug shot a 97-1x with Richard second with a 96-2x, and I was third with a 92. In the fourth string Doug and Richard swapped places with a 99-5x from Richard, a 94-2x for Doug which tied Harold Lee s score. The final score string was nearly a repeat of the previous string. Richard s 99-2x out scoring Doug s 94-1x, and I pulled up third with a 92-1x. Well if you were paying attention you noticed Richard Immel s name all over this report. Richard took first overall with a 294-9x, followed by Doug Ruegg with a 289-4x, and I managed to sneak into third with a 275-1x. Shooting starts at 9pm sharp, with setup at 8:30. We shoot on the FOURTH SUNDAY of each month. Bolt action military rifles from the bench, two ten shot strings for group followed by three ten shot strings for score. Come on out and have some fun! We shot a variety of paper targets and there weren t too many complaints from the shooters. So, we must have done something wrong. After the shoot, I thought I had the high aggregate for the shoot. However, there was a slight error in the scoring and the honors for high overall went to Tom Foster. Here is the order of finish for all eleven shooters. Scores for the last three shooters are being kept a secret per their request. See you then. -Al Main JESS B ADAMS Because of my interest and well being of every member of the AGC, I have decided to run for the BoD again. My 10 years experience, 3 years as 2nd VP and 3 years as president, has been a good teacher. In the last 5 months, I have been active in working on the committee for researching the amended and restated ByLaws for the AGC. Paying special attention to conformance to the Colorado State Statutes and also make sure we comply with our non-profit status. My financial conservative attitude is always present with any fiduciary judgment necessary concerning AGC members and AGC concerns regardless of other entities or organizations. AGC membership and AGC concerns are my 1st priority. FRED HAMBLEN The following is a brief listing of my experience as either an officer or member of the board of directors of various organizations in my life: I was first elected president of the 4-H club of a small school in west Tennessee (1949) at the age of 10. Following that, I was involved in numerous school and religious organizations holding various officer positions. After joining the Air Force (1975), I continued in numerous military and civic organizations usually in some capacity as an officer. The most notable were: president of the Area Coin Club in Honolulu (1975) and on the board of directors of the Hawaii State Numismatic Association ( ). I was also president of an NCO advisory board to the commander of Hickam AFB (1976). After moving to Colorado in 1983, I joined a sportsman s organization named Operation Respect, serving over 10 years on their state board of directors and held every office on the board, including two terms of two years each as president. The Operation Respect board appointed me to be their representative to the United Sportsmen s Council of Colorado in the late 1980 s and I served 10 years on their board. In 1998, I was elected to the board of the Arapahoe County Family Child Care Association as treasurer. I am presently a member of the Littleton Police Citizen s Academy Alumni Association board. During my more than 24 years of active service in USAF Intelligence, I was promoted to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant (E-9) and retired in that grade. I am a Benefactor member of the NRA as well as a Life member of the Law Enforcement Alliance of America and actively participate in activities of both organizations to the extent that I am financially able. I also do civilian volunteer work with the Littleton Police Department. I have been a member of the Aurora Gun Club for over nine years and previously served two years on the board. Although I made mistakes in that capacity, I have tried to learn from those mistakes. I will categorically state that everything I did and every vote I cast was done in what I believed to be in the best interest of the club and its members. I have been a certified range officer at the club for six years, have volunteered for almost every work party that has occurred since becoming a member, and have helped with club sponsored CCW classes for the past two years. I also developed and, have twice passed, a basic reloading class to club members. I thoroughly enjoy the time I get to spend at the AGC and would consider it an honor to be elected again to serve on the board of directors. HAROLD LEE I joined AGC in 1978 while stationed at Buckley Field in the Air Force. A few years ago I upgraded my membership to life when the push was on to build a relocation fund. I am currently an active Benchrest rile shooter (accuracy nut) having been an avid competitive trap and sporting clays shooter in prior years. As a small business owner I believe I can add some practical insight into the operations of AGC for the benefit of all club members and all shooting disciplines. AS a corporation we have to follow and be in compliance with the appropriate State and Federal Statutes. Gun clubs have to be ever vigilant to internal and external threats. We members must respect our fellow enthusiasts and not abuse the privileges we enjoy at AGC. These privileges are the envy of the general shooting public. Our focus must be to safeguard them. I believe every action of the ACG BoD should stand up to a minimum of 4 tests. One, is it good for the physical operation and maintenance of the facility? Two, what is the benefit to the members? Three, is it cost effective? Four, what is the safety aspect and liability involved? The future of AGC is on the line daily! I would appreciate your vote in the upcoming November election.

10 GREG SETHER Thank you for taking a moment to read my thoughts about the AGC. I am completing my 1 year term as a member of the current BoD. I am very pleased as to what this BoD has accomplished and would like to be re-elected to finish some of the projects that are currently on the table. The Open House that was just held was something that I believe is the direction our club needs to continue to go for the members. I have been a member for 9 years. My family and I have always enjoyed what this club has to offer. If you decide to vote for me, I will continue to work for all members of this club and their families to keep AGC enjoyable for everyone. Again, thank you in advance for your vote. RANDY STILL I d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and ask for your help in my bid to be re-elected as a BoD of the AGC. I have been a member of the AGC for 11 years. During this time, I have tried to participate in all work parties as I believe we as members must have pride in our club. Only by hard will we be able to keep our club one of the best in Colorado. I was the Magnum Handgun representative for 5 years, helping to develop the magnum berm as it is today. This past year, I served on the BoD. My one year term is up and I am anxious to serve again as we have many projects started and I would like to be a part of completing. This past year the current BoD has spent hundreds of hours on club matters that I believe have greatly helped to make AGC the finest member-owned and operated club anywhere. Some of the things we have done this past year (I am proud to have been a part of) are developing an agreement with outside organization using our facility, the successful completion of the pipeline project with the city of Aurora, putting in place port-a-potties for the members, the recent club open house, and many others too numerous to mention. It is my opinion that all disciplines are important to the continual growth of our club. We are very lucky to have such a great facility and must work hard to keep it. I am willing to give you that hard work and represent every member of the AGC if you re-elect me to the BoD. I will strive to serve each of you with an open mind and vote in the best interest of the club. It is with these thoughts that I ask you to vote for me for the AGC BoD. We took out 4 wooden benches and put in 6 new concrete ones, just like the first batch you and the guys did almost 10 years ago now. They look great, standing so proud and plumb. Many, many thanks to all who participated. I wish I had space to mention them all. We poured a Lot of concrete that day. Without the mixer provided by Jim Compton, it would not have been possible. We ve decided to have a couple of rimfire matches after our regular match next time, just for fun. We ll have 2 classes of rifle. The Plinker class will be for any factory, off the shelf rimfire rifle, 17 or 22 caliber, light barrel, not intended for competition. The Target class will be any rimfire rifle, 17 or 22 caliber. We ll shoot them right after the custom varmint match. We ll use our usual 5 bull targets, but we ll shoot at 50 yards. It will be 10 shots for score, any ammo. We ll shoot it after the custom varmint match, so the time for this will be late morning. Please plan on joining us. If there are any questions, my phone number is Regards, Richard
