2 The long and twisting road to the top starts here. Formula 3. Welcome to the Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship. Fifty-four years ago, Australian racing legend Bib Stilwell took his Ferrari 500 to victories at Caversham, Albert Park, Lowood, Mount Panorama, Port Wakefield and Phillip Island, to win the very first Australian Drivers Championship. With it, Bib won the now coveted CAMS Gold Star award, affirming his position as the best top level open-wheel driver in Australia. As the years have passed the cars, circuits and drivers have changed but the competition remains the same. The quest to win a title steeped in history and won by some of the biggest names in Australasian motorsport. In 2005, the ADC went international as Formula 3 now Australia s premier wings and slicks category took custodianship of the Gold Star. Since then drivers from eleven different countries have come to do battle in Australia s fastest cars on Australia s best circuits. Four Britons have now won the title, Ben Clucas, James Winslow, Joey Foster and Ben Barker all etching themselves on a now 54-year old cup. But Australia s finest have stood up to the challenge, Aaron Caratti and Tim Macrow the two to have tasted the title. But go back before the 2005 season and big names now fill the list of successes in Australian Formula 3. Karl Reindler, Michael Caruso, Will Power all now elite in their chosen fields be it domestically, or internationally. The 2011 Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship as it has been for six years now is a mix. A mix of the worlds pre-eminent junior development formulae in Formula 3, and Australia s most storied racing award. It s a combination that has delivered intense racing, fantastic entertainment, and the skills young drivers need to develop their careers forward. The Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship takes in a mixture of V8 Supercar Championship Events, plus Shannons Nationals rounds where Formula 3 is the headline category. This mix gives F3 the best of both worlds and allows for our own marquee Events at Shannons Nationals rounds whilst also befitting from the additional exposure that goes with the V8 Supercar package. Details about attendance figures and TV broadcasts can be found further in this document. 4 The raw costs of Formula 3. Formula 3 Australia is the most cost-effective way of going international-spec wings and slicks racing in Australasia - it s as simple as that. In fact, Formula 3 is little more expensive than a full season of National Formula Ford, with a majority of operating costs identical, vehicle purchase prices very similar and entry fees substantially cheaper. Lease drive packages are of course available with our professional teams (see pages 10-11) or vehicles can be run by owner-drivers or family teams with great success. Whilst there is some technical knowledge required information and support is freely available from within the Formula 3 community. THE COSTS: FORMULA 3 Average Vehicle purchase price; $55,000 (F399/00/01 Dallara), $70,000 (F302/03/04 Dallara), $85-90,000 (F307 Dallara) Running Costs: On average, fixed round by round costs generally amount to between $9,000 - $15,000 per round inclusive, depending on the level of investment the competitor desires, or is able, to input. This include entry fees ($1500 / round), tyres ($1600 / round), fuel (Average = $600/ Round), amortising the cost of an engine rebuild and all parts costs over eight rounds. Formula 3 Management can happily provide a more detailed rundown of raw prices of all components required to run a Formula 3 car on request. Lease Drives are readily available with prices on request from our teams however generally range between $185,000 - $200,000 For a full season.

5 Graduates of Australian F3. Formula 3 is known around the world as a development formula and in Australia, it s no different. An elite group of Aussie F3 alumni have headed either overseas or into V8 Supercar racing after their time in the championship. V8 Supercar team owners love F3 graduates thanks to the engineering base they develop racing the cars. European team owners love them because the cars driven in Australia are the same as those raced overseas, so the learning curve is reduced at a third of the price. The list of names below are just a select bunch of drivers to have raced in Australian Formula 3 before moving up the motorsport ladder either here or abroad. Bruno Senna - went on to win in British F3, GP2 and full season in Formula 1 with Hispania Racing. Now Lotus Renault GP reserve driver. Will Power - Tested F1, now full-time driver for Team Penske in IndyCar Racing. Mitch Evans - signed to race for MW (Webber) Arden in GP3 Series. Karl Reindler - British F3, now full time driver for BJR in V8 Supercar. Michael Caruso - Fujitsu V8SC race winner, now full time driver for GRM in V8 s. Tim Slade - Fujitsu V8 s, now full-time V8 Supercar driver for Stone Bros. Racing. Walter Grumbuller - now a regular frontrunner in the British F3 Championship. Marcus Marshall - Carrera Cup race winner, V8 Supercar endure regular Marco Mapelli - winner in GT & Ferrari Challenge racing in Europe John Pettit - went to the US to engineer teams in Atlantic and Indy Lights. Christian Jones - Asian Formula 3 Championship winner, A1GP AUS driver. Nathan Caratti - regular race winner in MINI Challenge Ben Barker - Carrera Cup Australia (2011) Ben Clucas - success in European GT racing. F3 team owner. BRUNO SENNA - won his first ever car race in Australian Formula 3, at Albert Park in 2006.

6 Modelled on successful international series, the 2011 Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship will continue with its new race format successfully introduced in Qualifying will be held in two parts. The first 15 minute session sets grid positions seven and backwards, with the top six cars progressing to a 10-minute shootout called the Quick Six, to decide Pole Position and the first three rows. There is one bonus point available for pole position in each class. Race one is a 20 minute sprint race, with 12 Points being awarded to the winner in each class, 8 for second, 7 for third and so on. Race two is also a 20 minute sprint race, with starting positions being based on the finishing order of race one. Point s allocation is identical to race one. The Feature race decides the weekend results and features a grid generated by the combined points score of races one and two. One bonus point is available in each race for setting the fastest lap. All cars are eligible to score points for the outright F3ADC title, however only F399/00/01 F302/03/04 cars can score points in the Forpark Scholarship Class. Championship (Gold Star) Class The Championship class is made up of the latest cars eligible to compete in Australia, the specification Dallara (or Mygale) Formula 3 chassis. All cars entered in each race, irrespective of class, can score points towards the outright championship, rewarding high-achievement in older model cars. F307 Dallara s run at 540kg according to Formula 3 s technical regulations. Formula 3 National Class The National class allows older vehicles, built from to race for their own trophies at each race and in the overall season. This allows beginner drivers to learn the ropes before progressing to the championship class at a more affordable budget entry point. A regulation change for 2011 will see National Class (2004) specification cars run at 540kg. The National class also encompasses the Forpark Australia Scholarship (See overleaf) More track time, more racing.

7 $50,000 to take a career further thanks to Forpark Aust. Around the world Formula 3 has been responsible for developing the driving skills of thousands of young drivers to prepare them for a career in motorsport. In Australia, things are no different. From current V8 Supercar Stars like Michael Caruso, Tim Slade and Karl Reindler to international aces like Bruno Senna, the category has played it's part in bringing the best and brightest to the forefront and giving them the tools they need to succeed at the highest level. However there has never been a cohesive program designed to give drivers a value for money opportunity to show what they are capable of. A complete two-year program that gave drivers an introductory season before progressing through to a championship drive - with funding in support - has been needed. However this need has now been addressed. In partnership with Forpark Australia, Formula 3 Management will in 2011 introduce the first ever Scholarship program in the history of the Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship. The Forpark Scholarship will provide an opportunity for the selected driver to progress from an initial season in Formula 3's National Class to a fully-fledged championship drive the following season and as such, develop an ideal platform for national or international motorsport stardom. The Forpark Australian F3 Scholarship (referenced herby as 'The Scholarship') will encompass young drivers (under the age of 23) racing in the National Class, for Formula 3 Vehicles built between 1999 and Eligible drivers will compete in the full 2011 National Class championship as a 'contracted driver' and as such will be required to fulfil the relevant terms and conditions that accompany that status, i.e. the driver must compete in all rounds of the championship to be eligible. At the commencement of the 2011 season a selection panel will be formed; This selection panel will then select one driver to be the worthy recipient of the Scholarship award, a fund of AUD$50,000 to go towards a championship class drive in the 2012 Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship. As such, The Scholarship winner may not be the driver that wins the class - it will be the driver deemed most suitable and likely to be successful in an outright car that fulfils the criteria laid out by the selection panel. This will ensure each driver competing in the National Class has an equal chance to win the Forpark Scholarship. 8 Formula 3 Management has in place a detailed financial program for the 2011 season that reduces costs across the board and also delivers high return and incentive rewards to competitors. Please Note: All figures quoted here are exclusive of GST. Entry Fee: The 2011 Entry Fee will be $1600 Per Car, Per round, at rounds 1,3,4,5,6 and 7. Contracted Drivers: Drivers who commit to contesting the full championship at the beginning of the season will receive substantial discount in their entry fee. Contracted drivers will receive the final round of the year free of charge, with no entry or garaging costs. This is a saving of $1600 (+GST). Contracted drivers will also receive primary Garage Allocation in Pit Lane / Marquee placement, plus further travel subsidies when compared to noncontracted drivers, as outlined below. Drivers intending to contest the full season will sign a contract a the beginning of the season and as such will receive additional status as a contracted driver for the 2011 Championship plus the benefits as outlined above. Failure to complete the eight rounds will result in rebates being withheld according to the terms of the contracts. Hidden Valley: Round two of the championship will be held at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin, Northern Territory. Formula 3 Management has negotiated a generous travel allowance to assist competitors for making the trek north. Contracted (Full Season) entrants will receive a rebate of $ , per car, following the Event. Non Contracted entrants will receive a rebate of $ , per car, following the Event. Formula 3 Management will also source Group Hotel bookings at local hotels to lower costs, plus will coordinate transport options between competitors to ensure all transporters are filled, or all sharing possibilities are covered prior to departure to lower costs further. There will be no entry or garaging fees associated with this round. Better value, less costs.

9 More incentives and more prizes. TOP END SHOOTOUT: As with 2010, there will be a three-round miniseries across three Events in the Northern states. Round 2 (Hidden Valley), 4(Morgan Park) and 5 (Queensland Raceway) will comprise the Top End Shootout, with the point score of those three rounds combine determining the champion in each class. $5000 of prize money will be distributed across each class at the conclusion of round five as follows: Outright 1 st : $ Outright 2 nd : $ Outright 3 rd : $ National 1 st : $ National 2 nd : $ National 3 rd : $ The point system will be the standard Formula 3 scoring method based on round results of the three rounds in Question. KUMHO KEY PERFORMER AWARD: CARRERA CUP TEST DAY Thanks to Team BRM, The winner of the 2011 Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship will receive a fully-funded* Test Day in a current specification MY11 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup Car, utilised in the 2011 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia. This test will be presented with full staffing from Team BRM and will include a minimum of 50 laps at Mallala, in South Australia. The vehicle will be insured for the duration of the test by Carrera Cup. Testing results will be taken into consideration by Team BRM for a potential race opportunity with the team in the 2012 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship. MACAU GRAND PRIX ENTRY The Winner of the 2011 Formula 3 Australian Drivers Championship will be considered by Event Organisers for entry into either the 2011 or 2012 Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix. $ will be awarded at the conclusion of the championship to the highest performing driver fulfilling the criteria. ELF (RACE FUELS AUSTRALIA) Official Fuel of Formula 3 Race Fuels Australia has agreed to become the Official Fuel of Formula 3. Each Entry utilising ELF WRF 102 octane racing fuel for the full 2011 season will receive 1x 0.5L bottle of ELF Brake Fluid Per Round. The total value of this is approx $ To be eligible for this incentive, competitors will be required to carry ELF branding on vehicles at all times in the 2011 Championship. PERFORMANCE FRICTON BRAKES Preferred Brake Supplier to Formula 3 As a partner to the F3ADC, Performance Friction Brakes (PFC) are offering significant savings on Brake Callipers, Rotors and Pads throughout the 2011 season. 13 Media Exposure Value The Australian Formula 3 Championship is exposed to a diverse and wide array of spectators and media at each round. Formula 3 is ideally positioned to be able to offer value for money sponsorships that deliver bang for your buck value unable to be matched anywhere else in motorsport. Race Torque Media is Formula 3 s dedicated media contractor and provides all media services to the championship. The Australian Formula 3 Championship receives regular coverage on the popular SBS show, Speedweek. This coverage is also shown on FOX Sports dedicated motorsport channel SPEED TV. In total, each Shannons Nationals F3 show will receive one hour of broadcast exposure on two networks. *V8 Supercar round TV package details to be advised. The SBS coverage receives an average of 210,000 viewers per week, nationally. FOX Sports coverage is beamed to overt 1.8 million subscribers, and played regularly in bars, clubs and hotels to a large audience. The estimated audience of the Fox coverage is 50,000 85,000 per show. A media survey conducted across the first three rounds of the 2010 championship showed F3 delivered the following results to sponsors: - Kumho Tyres (Sponsor, Tyre supplier): Media equivalency value of $175,900 - Meguiar s (Pole award sponsor): Media equivalency value of $65,300 Website traffic: The Formula 3 website is one of the mostvisited category website in Australian Motorsport. In 2010 the site averaged 39,750 page impressions per month. By comparison the V8 Utes website recorded an average of 37,900 page impressions per month in The Shannons Nationals website received 14,500 page impressions per month. In 2010 the series has received regular print and online coverage in the following publications: Auto Action, Motorsport News, Motorsport E-News, speedcafe.com.au, Kart Magazine, Kart Racing, AutoRacing Daily, NZ Speed sport, AutoSport (UK), Crash.net, Autosport.com, motorsport.com. This includes event specific media in major daily newspapers including the Advertiser, Examiner, Mercury, Age, Herald Sun and Sydney Morning Herald. Each judge was asked to submit their top ten drivers, in order, with each driver then receiving points - from first to tenth as per the 2010 F3 sporting regulations. Out of the 55 drivers eligible (eligibility criteria was limited to those drivers who had scored a championship - points paying - race podium), 26 scored votes, with only two receiving votes from all ten judges.
