1 May 2011 May Presidents Message Well I have to be honest with you. It s been one hell of a month for me. As we come to a close to our 66 day marathon at the end of STREAK. It s been a great ride so far! I m packing up for the NSRA Bakersfield and by the time you get this Newsletter Bakersfield will be over and we will be just days away from STREAK38. If you volunteered to work at the STREAK. Please make sure that you check in and check out the schedule for which you are to work? Once again, we will have the police cadets assisting us in whatever we need them for. Please give them a big hello because they are volunteering to make your STREAK a pleasant one. And if you agreed to make a basket for the STREAK, bring it Friday morning to the STREAK especially if you have something that will spoil. ANY questions, now is the time to ask our STREAK Chairwoman or the committee members. Summer s coming and you should be inspecting your rod. Check things such as Oil and transmission Levels, brakes, loose clamps, header flanges, wheels, tire pressure, emergency brake, steering parts, misc bolts and nuts that you can see under the car and lights. Let s not forget the most important thing. That is of course, MUSIC! Or maybe even an oil change? I usually do these things in the winter but some hot rodders I know do it just before summer so it s up to you. Whatever fits your lifestyle? Hopefully by this meeting we will start up our Tech Nites and Club Putts. I should have a date for our next Club Putt this meeting so make sure you have a pad and pen to write the specific down. The weather is great and I always say, this is why I live here every time I look up at the clear sky and warm weather. Well got to go and I will see you at STREAK38!! Thanks for all you do! Ralph

5 IT S OFFICIALLY STREAK WEEK!!!!! By the time y all read this I am hoping to be breathing in the bay air at Campland and enjoying a lovely steak dinner with Wild Thang s parents, Phil and Mary Leatherman of Extreme Automotive... just waiting for Streak 38 to begin! Sorry to miss the Club meeting... but I m sure you won t deny me a few moments to relax before all the excitement! Please plan to drive your hot rods down to Navy Hospital Sat. morning. We have at least 17 Wounded Warriors signed up... and there is a strong possibility there will be more. I m confident we will have a great showing of cars and drivers for our heroes! Remember that due to their personal circumstances, not everyone will bring back a Warrior, but the parade to Campland is always an incredible and emotional experience! Thanks so much in advance for your participation! Young athletes from our other charity, San Diego Adaptive Sports Foundation will also be at the Streak on Saturday. Please show your support for them as well and welcome them and their families. Y our Streak Committee has everything set and fully under control! (Right???... Yes!!!...I m sure!!!... DEFINITELY!!!) So I just can t think of anything else! I look forward to seeing everyone at Campland!! But WAIT!!! I did think of something else! Bring plenty of money to spend on Raffle Tickets cause we have a lot of fantastic prizes to win AND you are supporting YOUR club, Over The Hill Gang San Diego, and our great charities!!!! Oh, and... pray for sunshine! Joanne Witek Streak 38 Chairperson
