1 Cruise News June 2016 President s Message Hi Gang, It was good to see so many club members in Pine Valley on Saturday, May 21. The weather started out a little shaky at first with some light sprinkles on the way up. As the day progressed we had no rain but it was one of those days that you would put your jacket on and then take it off.on & off all day. Club members Mildred Rios Dave Keetch & Frank Martinez received Sponsor Award. But the cool news is that the Over the Hill Gang, San Diego received the Club Participation Award. All in all, it was a very enjoyable day. The family of Butch Whitley wants to thank all of the Gang members that attended his memorial service. A little bird tells me that after the services a good Samaritan (not to be named, but his initials are Gary Brown) came to the rescue of a damsel in distress (not to be named, but her initials are Francie Ringland) when her green 1968 Camaro would not start. I hear tell that it was a Ford in a Ford saving a Chevy in a Chevy. The only problem was the driver of the Ford in a Ford tried to connect the Positive to the Negative on the Chevy and the Chevy sent sparks flying! The Chevy was not happy with the Ford! When the Ford figured out he had the cables reversed all was copasetic and the little green Chevy putted down the road. Be sure and tell your friends and family how much they mean to you as often as possible and treat each other with kindness, as life is too short! Love you guys, Madam Pres, Denise

He died of cancer. There will be a celebration of life for him on June 11 th from 10am 2pm. It will be in Don and Donna s cul-de-sac (Lana Court) near Madison High School s football field. They will be blocking off the court for this celebration. Don and Donna were the people that always did the raffle for the Clairemont Neighborhood Cruisers car shows. 5 The old Back To The 50's La Mesa car shows are no longer. The NEW "LA MESA CLASSIC CAR SHOWS" are on. Jack Leary will be the show MANAGER working for the CITY OF LA MESA the new show HOST. Times and dates will stay the same, every THURSDAY night from 5pm to 8pm STARTING JULY 7th This year I will be offering 3rd Street for CAR CLUBS to park on. 3rd Street from La Mesa Blvd. to the ALLEY will be blocked off for clubs to bring in their vehicles. It can hold 12 to 14 cars, so the first come, first served is in effect. CLUBS MUST HAVE AT LEAST 10 CARS TO QUALIFY FOR THIS STREET. Any club wanting to park there must call Jack at or me at jleary55@att.net to get a date for your club.
