3 WINTER GAMES REGISTRATION GUIDE Proposed Schedule - Subject to change The 2018 snow sport Winter Games (alpine skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing) will again be a two-day event. The Games will include the same competition experience, overnight opportunity, meal quality, Opening Ceremonies, and evening activities to our athletes. Please note that on Monday night, Special Olympics New Jersey has full use of Red Tail Lodge as it will be closed to the public. Monday, February 5* 11:00 AM 5:00 PM Delegations arrive to their housing location Rooms may not be available immediately, however storage space is available for programs pending check in. Athletes should arrive prepared to compete. There is a chance athletes will compete without their room being ready first. Lunch will be available for alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing athletes, Unified partners, coaches and chaperones. 1:30 PM 4:00 PM On-snow competition (time trials and/or finals) This time will be used for on-snow time trials and/or final competition for alpine skiing, crosscountry skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing. 5:30 PM 7:15 PM Dinner available for all Winter Games participants Special Olympics New Jersey has full use of Red Tail Lodge as it will be closed to the public. Dinner will be served to Head Delegates, athletes, Unified partners, coaches and chaperones only. 7:30 PM 8:05 PM Opening Ceremonies 8:10 PM 9:30 PM Winter Games Dance for all participants in Red Tail Lodge 8:30 PM Coach meetings take place at the Appalachian Hotel 9:00 PM Head Delegate meeting takes place at the Appalachian Hotel Tuesday, February 6* 6:00 AM 9:00 AM Breakfast available for all Winter Games participants 9:00 AM On-snow competition begins (finals) 10:00 AM Speed skating competition begins at Skylands Ice World 11:00 AM Lunch is delivered to all competition venues 3:00 PM All competition ends and delegations depart *All times subject to change

5 ALPINE SKIING AVAILABLE EVENTS Super G Slalom Giant Slalom AVAILABLE LEVELS Novice Intermediate Advanced Athletes may compete in two events within the same level. In order for an athlete to be considered for novice level competition, the athlete must be able to change direction, fall and get up unassisted, and attempt to stop on his/her own. Athletes must wear winter competition appropriate attire. Athletes will not be permitted to compete in jeans. Helmets are required. Lunch will be served on a 4:1 athlete to coach ratio at Winter Games. Kneepads, shin guards, neck protector, gloves and helmets are required. Lunch will be served on a 4:1 athlete to coach ratio at Winter Games.
