9 Goals The general goals for the demand response element of this proposed fare policy update are to achieve a fare structure, which is: COMPASSIONATE: Providing a discounted rate for elderly and disabled riders CONSISTENT: Prescribing a pricing system wherein riders going similar distances pay a similar fare CONVENIENT: Allowing Drivers and Call Center Agents to easily quote fares 9

10 Policy Concerns The new fare policy will not increase net fare revenue. Senior trips to the nearest senior center (same city) will remain a zero dollar fare. Personal Care Assistant s fare will remain a zero dollar fare. The new fare policy provides equity across our current and future service areas. 10

14 Distance Banding Calculates the trip fare based on direct travel distance from origin to destination. Direct distance travel does not include intercept pickups or drop-offs. Calculation is trip based. It measures distance based on fastest, most efficient street routing. 14
