1 Here we go the 2016 South Australian Trials Season is ready to go and will be starting off with a couple of pre-season coaching days, that are split by Easter (and the Glenmaggie Easter Classic), with the Velocette MCC & Ray Robbie hosting a Motorcycling Australia Come & Try Day the week before Easter and the Gas Gas Motos Australia Junior Development Programme teaming up with Global Racing Oil Australia to host a 2 day training camp with British World Top 10 rider, Alexz Wigg the week after Easter! SUNDAY, MARCH 20 TH MOTORCYCLING AUSTRALIA COME & TRY TRIALS, w/- VELOCETTE MCC! Full details about the Motorcycling Australia Come & Try Day will be released next week just needing to confirm the venue but if you have never had an MA licence before, you can come along and get yourself a free Recreation Licence, worth over $ to get yourself started in the sport for all the details, give Kate at MSA a call on (08) am to 4.00pm on Sunday the 20 th! Keep an eye out early next week for the full details, including a venue! SATURDAY & SUNDAY, APRIL 2 ND & 3 RD THE ALEXZ WIGG TRAINING WROXTON GRANGE! To be run along the same lines as the highly successful Jordi Pascuet Training Camp in 2012, this will be 2 days of great coaching from Alexz and the Moto Trials SA Coaching Crew. This will be Alexz first trip to SA after having already run brilliant camps in Victoria in previous years! Alexz will be joined by GRO Australia s Phil Whittle, and maybe a couple of other special guest coaches as well, with the weekend kicking off with a meet & greet BBQ on the Friday night at the Keyneton MCC Clubrooms from 6.00pm, with the camp being held across the road at Wroxton. Each day will kick off on Saturday at 9.00am and run until around 4.00pm, with Sunday starting at the same time but will finish at 3.00pm, with both days also including lunch for all. COSTS: $ per rider for both days, which includes 2 lunches, drinks & the Friday night BBQ. $ per rider for one day, which includes lunch and drinks & the Friday night BBQ. NON RIDERS; $ per lunch, or $25.00 for 2 lunches, drinks & the Friday night BBQ and please advise when entering riders for catering purposes. 2 OUR 2016 MOTO TRIALS SA CALENDAR OF EVENTS! Here is the 2016 Moto Trials SA calendar and check out the Triple Treat we have to start the 16 season!

3 SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO START SEASON 2016 HERE IN SA! THE SHERCO SA WOMEN S CUP & BAROSSA UNIQUE TOURS DIENER/HOLMES SIDECAR TROPHY! Yes, the SA season will kick off with one of the premier events, the Sherco South Australian Women s Cup & the Barossa Unique Tours Diener/Holmes Sidecar Trophy. To be held at Vine Vale in the Barossa Valley on Sunday, April 24 th, and as in previous years it will be preceded by a Gas Gas Motos Australia JDP training day on the Saturday. Run by the Keyneton MCC, supp regs & entry forms will be out in early March, with early rumours suggesting a number of interstate girls will once again push numbers well over the 20 women mark, which is great for the first event in SA motorcycling where the girls & women headline the event! The 2015 naming rights sponsors are also once again on board, with the girls being looked after by Greg Knight and his Sherco Moto SA crew and the outfits once again backed by the brilliant Barossa Unique Tours of Tony & Amanda Tscharke! Always great to have great support for great events! Also look for sidecar numbers to be on the rise again as more teams start to enter the sport, and also, so rumour goes, the return of a few old names throwing a leg over once again! AND JUST ONE WEEK LATER GRO TROY KICKS INTO GEAR!! 2016 welcomes back GRO (Global Racing Oil) as the major supporter of our TROY Series SA for 2016 for the 2 nd year, with a huge thanks to Team Hogan & Phil Whittle for their continued support of our great Series! With Juventus running the SA Champs and some forced changes to the calendar Rockleigh will not host the opener in 2016, and instead become the 5 th & final round in September and possibly at a brand new venue stay tuned for more on that! TROY in 2016 will instead kick off at the AJS MTC run Frank Tuck Trial at Victor Harbor on May 1 st at the great Vic Dowling property hopefully this year will see the waterfall flowing! Round 2 will this year be the trek to the Flinders Ranges for Team Hogan s trial at their home, Mungeree, complete with the usual Saturday training day and Saturday night dinner in the woolshed! Round 3, after the usual mid-season break, will be run by Chris Schultz and the Gawler MCC with their Max Graetz Trial at iconic Tungkillo, followed by round 4 out on the pipeline at Moculta, and as said, finishing with the Juventus round! Classes will be as previous years, but with one major change for the girl s class, PINK. With the levels our girls are now riding here in SA and after much discussion with our friends in the East as to what they are doing to encourage their girls to reach for the stars, the PINK Class will now be scored on lines first; red, yellow, blue, white & run of section, and then scores, not just on scores alone as has been done in the past! It is the first major change to a TROY Class since the Series started in 2010 and it says a lot for the great skills of our women riders that they have forced this change to take place salute!

4 2016 SOUTH AUSTRALIAN ROCKLEIGH JUNE 18 & 19 and run by the JUVENTUS MCC This year s South Australian Championships will be run early for the first time in many a year, in June, instead of what has become the traditional September (since it went to a stand-alone event in 2004) and the Juventus MCC are really excited by this, as with favourable weather it will open up so much more of their Rockleigh property gate 1, where the slabs are! The Club are already gearing up for the event and have said that there will be all weekend catering from Saturday morning until Sunday arvo, with onsite camping also available from Friday night! The SA Championship weekend has, since 2010 at Mungeree become a great weekend, not only of trials riding, but also of camping and a great social atmosphere around the bonfire, with 2012, the last Titles held at Rockleigh being no exception! Supp regs and entry forms will probably be available from round 1 of TROY May 1 st and, as per the previous years, a full range of classes will be available, subject to the required numbers to constitute an official Championship Class! These Classes will require four (4) entrants; Open Solo, which includes Expert, A Grade, B Grade, C Grade & Clubman; Veterans; Historic Blue; Historic White These Classes will require three (3) entrants; Open Women; Junior A Boys; Junior B Boys; Junior A Girls; Junior B Girls Open Sidecars, which includes A Grade, B Grade & Classic MINI TRIAL & NON-COMP SOLO & SIDECAR classes will also be available for those on rec licences Veterans (all classes combined) & Historic Blue (Air-cooled, Post Classic & Classic combined) ride to blue splits Historic White (Air-cooled, Post Classic & Classic combined) ride to white splits Open Women can nominate preferred line highest lines are scored first in a tiered system Junior A Boys & Junior A Girls to ride white splits Junior B Boys & Junior B Girls to have run of sections THE TEAM SA ATTACK ON THE 2016 AUSTRALIAN MOTO TRIALS STANTHORPE, QUEENSLAND; SEPTEMBER 24 & 25 The 2016 Australian Moto Trials Championships are being held at Stanthorpe, which is in South Queensland, very close to the NSW border. If you plan to ride and would like to come into consideration for the official South Australian Team SA State Teams, please let Andrew Warnest know as soon as possible. Teams will, more than likely, have to be picked by the Max Graetz Trial at the end of July at the latest so team clothing can be organised in time! Last year we were third, so let s send another great team to QLD and try and get the State Team Award back that we won in 2013!

5 AND THE JDP CAMPS ON SATURDAYS WILL BE ON AGAIN! The Gas Gas Motos Australia Junior Development Program will continue on in 2016, and again with great support from Paul Arnott & The Hell Team, with 3 JDP Saturdays during the year, April 23, May 14 and July 30 again, 10.00am until 4.00pm with a BBQ lunch. Come along for a great days training/practise and not to forget the after training camp out on Saturday night before the Sunday event! REACHING FOR THE STARS!!! 2016 will see 2 of South Australia s finest trials riders take a huge step in their careers, as both have decided to compete in the 2016 FIM Trial World Championship! Our current SA#1, Connor Hogan, the current Australian Open Junior Champion, and still only 16 and in year 11 at school, is currently gearing up to ride the whole 2016 series, some 15 rounds, which will include 8 overseas trips for Connor and his father, Hoges (Brenton), as Connor becomes, it is thought, the very first Australian male to compete in a whole World Championship Series. With a change of brand for 2016, and named as a team rider in the newly formed Sherco Australia Trial Team, with support from GRO & Jitsie, as well as family and friends and the Mungeree Homestead, this is a huge step for Connor and we wish him all the best and I am sure all in the Moto Trials SA family will continue to support him in any way we can! Joining Connor will be fellow new signing to the Sherco Australia Trial Team, Sofie Kraft, who will head overseas for the first time in July for round 1 of the FIM Women s Trial World Championship, before heading to Italy & France in August to complete the Series, and will be joined on the journey by the current Australia #1, Kristie McKinnon, and will be supported from home by Sherco Moto SA, Wulfsport and Kraft Family Vineyards, as well as her family and friends and also the Moto Trials SA family! Whilst Sofie isn t the first Australian woman to ride the World Championship, she is the very first South Australian woman to head overseas to chase her dream! As most people can appreciate, this is a huge under taking for both of our Motorcycling SA Elite Riders and MSA Rising Star Award recipients, so if any person or business is keen to get involved and support these stars of the future, it would not be a decision you would regret, as both are not only great riders, they are also great role models for junior riders to look up to, as well as great ambassadors for their sport.

6 AND NOT FORGETTING THE AJS CLUB S PREMIER EVENTS! In between the GRO TROY Series rounds 2 & 3 it is the time for the South Australian Special Events usually the SA Women s Cup & Diener/Holmes is in here as well, but this year it s the SA Championships that are head lining this part of the season however the AJS MTC will still be running their 2 premier events during this period the 41 st running of the Peter Sparkes Sidecar Trophy at Iconic Tungkillo and the 2016 Classic Trial at JB s Trials Park at Eden Valley At the Peter Sparkes classes for A Grade, B Grade & Classic Sidecars (as per the Diener/Holmes) on those great Tungkillo rocks and creeks, with the Classic Trial at Eden Valley having classes to suit all the Classic bikes and including sidecars!
