The Big East has the nation s next longest current non-losing streak at 15 straight years. Since 1981, six different ACC schools have made a total of 27 Final Four appearances, 10 more than any other conference. By the Numbers Eleven of the 12 ACC teams have made at least one NCAA Tournament appearance over the last four seasons. Since 1981 four different ACC schools have won a total of eight NCAA titles, three more than any other conference. Since the NCAA Tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985, the ACC has the most NCAA Tournament wins (231), the best winning percentage (.669), the most Sweet 16 appearances (63) and the most teams (34) in a regional final. Since the NCAA started assigning seeds with the 1979 Tournament, the ACC has won more games (23) against No. 1 seeds and is the only conference with a winning record (23-22) against top-seeded teams. With three teams - North Carolina (1), Duke (9), Clemson (22) - listed in the final AP poll, the ACC extended its streak to 48 consecutive seasons with at least one team ranked in the top 10 of the final AP Poll. With his selection as the National Player of the Year by the AP, The Sporting News, the USBWA and the NABC, North Carolina s Tyler Hansbrough is the 16th player from the ACC, since 1975, to be a consensus National Player of the Year and the ninth to be accorded unanimous status. 6 Hammonds, McClinton head up All-ACC Academic Team Clemson's Cliff Hammonds, Miami's Jack McClinton, Duke's Greg Paulus and NC State's Ben McCauley highlighted the 2008 All-ACC Academic Men's Basketball Team. Hammonds ranked second in the ACC in assists to turnover ratio (2.22:1), third in steals per game (1.9), fifth in minutes played (34.2) and seventh in assists per game (3.9). McClinton led the ACC in free throw percentage (.919) and was fourth in scoring (17.7). Paulus, a third-team CoSIDA Academic All-American, ranked 11th in the ACC in assists (3.2) and fourth with 2.44 threepoint field goals per game. McCauley, who has started 51 games the past two years, averaged 6.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists for the Wolfpack.
