Let s have fun and enjoy the game we love! Many people have dedicated many hours of volunteer time to make boys basketball in Alabama successful. As Alabama Boys Basketball Chairman, I wish to express my sincere appreciation. Please know and communicate to your players and your parents that we will expect the highest quality of good sportsmanship from all those in attendance. 3 PLAYING TIMES 8 minute quarters Half time shall be five (5) minutes in length Minimum pre game warm up shall be five (5) minutes in length Arrive an hour early for your games because game time is game time. National Federation of State High School Association rules will be used. HOME TEAM The team listed first on the schedule shall be the home team and shall wear light colors. The home team must sit to the right of the scorer s table (facing the table from the floor) and the visitor to the left. You must warm up opposite your bench. POOL PLAY If any situation where two (2) teams are tied, head to head competition between the teams will determine the winner. If more than two (2) teams tie, a point differential tiebreaker will be applied. The point differentials of the teams involved in the tie are totaled. Teams are then ranked according to the sum of the point differential with the highest number placing first, the second highest placing second. (The maximum that you can beat a team and still gain an advantage is 15 points.) If more than two (2) teams are still tied after the application of the formula, the point differentials of the teams not involved in the tie are added, and the results recalculated.
