5 Ultimate te Personal Personal Best Assessment Best Assessment At each station: 1. Read content card and perform the tasks below. 2. Record your score and set a goal. 3. Ultimate Skills Stations 1 Passing Accuracy: Backhand and Forehand How many passes out of 20 can you make to a stationary partner from a spot marker (10 BH & 10 FH)? Target partner can move 1 step in any direction. Personal Best Pre Goal Post BH FH 2 Passing Distance: Backhand and Forehand How far can you throw? Throw 3 BH & 3 FH throws and record the farthest distance for each type. Throws must stay within boundaries. BH FH 3 Catching: Clap Catch How many passes out of 20 can you catch? Disc must be secured on initial contact. Only throws within reach of the catcher count. Errant throws should be repeated. 4 Catching: 'C' Catch How many passes out of 20 can you catch? Disc must be secured on initial contact. Only throws within reach of the catcher count. Errant throws should be repeated. 5 Footwork: 3-Cone Cut How many cuts can you make in 30 sec.? Begin at cone 1, sprint to cut-cone, cut and sprint to cone 2. Repeat in opposite direction. Cone 1 to cone 2 = 1 cut. Stay to outside of cones at all times. 6 Ultimate Rules All teams are assigned a number, which corresponds to their start-station. On signal, teams move clockwise and remain together for the entire race. Perform 1st non-stop loop, returning to assigned start-station. Complete the task at that station to criteria before moving on to the next station. Continue moving to each station in order until all stations have been completed once. Remember to have the station box checked after successfully completing each station. Perform another non-stop loop, returning to original start-station, repeat process. Move to Closing Challenge when each station has been completed and checked off 3X. Teams adhere to Adventure Race Creed: Out Lead! Out Last! Out Laugh! Think About It Read the question. When your team thinks they know the answer, tell the Judge. If correct, receive a mark and move on. If not, jog around the Think About It Loop before returning to Judge with your answer. Answer question correctly before moving on. Questions: Loop 1: What is the most common offensive formation in Ultimate? Loop 2: List 1 characteristic of the notion of Spirit of the Game. Loop 3: Ultimate is similar to what other field-based games/sports? Pass & Cut Away In circle formation, face team members 30 paces away from each other. Pass (backhand or forehand) 1 disc 50X as a team. After each pass, cut away and back to your spot. Observer s Clinic As a team in unison, show and say each of the ultimate observer's signals. Throw-a-Mile 1 disc per person. As a team, throw a total distance of 1 mile. Throw discs at same time. Measure and add up distances. Repeat until your team accumulates 1 mile. HIGH SCHOOL PE TASK CARD Target Practice 1 disc per person. From throw line, use backhands and forehands to knock down all 10 cones. Throw and retrieve as a team. After all 10 cones are knocked over, reset cones. Closing Challenge Cool-down, stretch and/or cheer for other teams until the signal.
