2 LPDL Vision Statement The vision of the LPDL Program is to develop elite players with the skill set, desire, and experience to succeed at the local, state, regional, and national level. By providing a progressively regimented and player focused educational environment, we empower players to own their development and achieve their individual goals. Our teams strive to compete at the highest state and regional levels of competition and attend events that provide collegiate exposure and recruitment opportunities. Players are expected to learn and embrace the program s core values of character, commitment, respect, integrity, and sportsmanship. The focus is to raise the standard and expectations for the players, coaches, and club. To create a higher level of professionalism from all involved in the LPDL. The system approach is to create a higher learning soccer environment, increase a player s soccer IQ, higher demands on coaches training preparation, communication, and player feedback. MSC wants to raise the soccer development bar- we want to be the pioneer of the state on how we approach the importance of player development. Schedule LPDL League- 5 clubs participating in LPDL- MSC, CABOSA, Baton Rouge, Cajun Soccer Club and La Fire. Each team will play home and away match- All LPDL games are self-scheduled to give clubs the freedom to attend regional and national events. Three games must be played in the fall. Teams will not compete in LCSL. The MSC LPDL teams will participate in LPDL and GPSL leagues plus regional and national events. LPDL GSPL Showcases Team Formation Currently, LSA plans to adopt the 2004/15U and 2002/17U as the LPDL playing age groups for the soccer season. MSC s Coaching Staff goals are to keep the selection process closer to pure birth year teams. Players abilities, talent pool, and circumstances will ultimately determine LPDL team selection. Team Roster The roster may vary in size throughout the season. Player movement to and from LPDL will be open. The MSC Coaching staff can move players in and out of the team during the playing soccer season. Players training behavior, injuries, game performances, mentality/attitude, and commitment will be factors that influence the coaching staff and the director of coaching decisions to move players in and out of the team. For example- a player on the Elite team may be asked to train and play with the LPDL

3 team when coaching staff sees fit thru player performance observation. Potential LPDL players at times will train with the LPDL team but play games with their Elite team. Rationale: it s better to play 60 minutes in an Elite match than 12 mins in a LPDL match. These players are next on the depth chart if an LPDL player is injured, sick, or misses often. 4 Uniforms Players must understand the importance of their professional look as a representation of the club. Players must look and conduct themselves with class. The players training dress code and uniform appearance will be strictly enforced. Full Nike kit Soccer ball Training top Warm-up Bags Travel polos/shirt Players Expectations This program is designed for players that have a desire to play at a higher level and beyond their MSC careers. Players are expected to dedicate themselves to training and for soccer to be their primary extracurricular activity. Rest and balance in life is important and there will be circumstances where players miss training. These should be the emergency situations and rare exceptions. Players that miss training, games, or tournaments may be moved down to a lower level team at any point in the season and be replaced. 5 Core Values- The MSC Way Each and every player should know our core values and should strive to live by them daily. The values form our character on and off the field. Respect - for yourself, family, staff, and the game Optimistic Attitude Sportsmanship - Demonstrate good sportsmanship before, during and after the games Character Commitment Integrity Player Injury responsibilities Need to seek treatment Attend all training Communicate to staff Do assigned rehabilitation exercises Proper nutrition for healing Travel LPDL teams will look to attend 1-2 regional or national events in the fall soccer season and 2-3 in the spring. Depending on the cost, the MSC LDPL teams will charter a bus or fly to regional events and/or showcases. Depending on location and type of event the LPDL teams will travel as a team with the coach and a few parent chaperones. Players will stay four players per room. Parents are welcome to attend but will travel separately from the team. Possible Events Include: Disney, Vegas, Houston, North Carolina FC (CASL), Atlanta Cup and Dallas Travel Expectations for players Curfew Room checks Team meeting Team itineraries Proper behavior on and off field Representation of the club

6 Parents Expectations Parents are expected to support their player s ability to participate fully in the LPDL program. This means that vacations and other activities must be planned around their soccer commitments. Parents are expected to support the coaching staff and their role in the development of their child both on and off the field. Parents and coaches must work as a team and have a clear understanding of the coach s expectations as well as the role of the parent in player development. There will be complete player movement meaning a player can move up or down base on their mentality, attitude, commitment and play development progression. Players may be moved down to a lower level team if their parents are not following the parent Code of ethics.
