3 Some Game Themes: The wait is over college football season is here! Football returns to the Old Pueblo for a Friday night kickoff before a national television audience UNLV s trip to the desert is its first since 2001, and this marks only the third meeting in series history after the Wildcats dispatched the host Rebels, 58-13, last year in Las Vegas That thumping seemed to be a turning point for UNLV, which won seven of its final 10 regular season games once Arizona left town Rich Rodriguez & Co. head into Year 3 with stability across the board, though most wonder who will be named the starting quarterback. It was a steady four-man race throughout fall camp and that competition hopefully has prepped one (or two?) for a dozen or more gridiron clashes in the months to come The Wildcat coaching staff returns intact for the first time since 1999 (yes, 1999!) and thus familiarity with the system and personnel across the board is an asset Arizona has been a prominent running team the last two years, but a bevy of wideouts will be tempting to throw to all season for whomever gets the nod as the quarterback Among the notables is senior Austin Hill, a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist with 1,364 receiving yards in 2012, who missed all of last season with an ACL injury Somewhat lost in the Arizona discussion is replacing two-time consensus All-American running back Ka Deem Carey, but a handful of capable names await their chance to shine and perhaps replace Carey by committee The Rebels are likely to go with a similar approach to replace career leading rusher Tim Cornett, while Scottsdale Community College transfer Blake Decker was named the starting quarterback two weeks before the opener On the defensive side, the Wildcats believe they have more depth, yet there is inexperience, if not talent, at some key positions The meeting last season saw the Cats defense score twice an early indicator that the unit was vastly improved, something that did play out over the course of the season Home-openers have been promising for the Wildcats in recent years, and Rodriguez is a perfect 2-0 in his first two tries The first full week of classes will be in the books as Friday s contest kicks off Labor Day Weekend. Last Time Out: Arizona capped Rich Rodriguez s second season with a rout of Boston College last Dec. 31 at the AdvoCare V100 Bowl in Shreveport, La. The Wildcats struck first with Ka Deem Carey s two-yard run in the middle of the first quarter and never trailed in the contest. The Eagles kicked a pair of field goals to keep things close into the second period, but Will Parks turned the tide with a 69-yard interception return for a touchdown, and Trey Griffey hauled in a touchdown pass with 30 seconds left in the half to put Arizona comfortably on top, 21-6, at halftime. Any hopes of a BC comeback were thwarted when the Cats marched 75 yards on 11 plays in the first 2:49 of the second half to put the game away. Fittingly, Carey punched in the touchdown his school-record 48th career rushing score and finished the game with a routine 169 yards. But the offensive star may have been quarterback B.J. Denker, who rushed for 51 yards and a score himself, plus completed 17-of-24 passes for 275 yards and two more scores to finish his career on a high note. Freshmen receivers Nate Phillips (nine receptions for 193 yards) and Trey Griffey (two touchdowns) were the benefactors of Denker s highly efficient finale. The game had been billed as a matchup of the nation s two premier running backs, but Andre Williams who edged out Carey in the Doak Walker Award voting was shut down by a stingy Wildcat defense. The Cats limited Williams to 75 total yards on 26 totes, a 2.9 yards per carry clip that left the pro-style Eagles struggling to move the ball. Senior linebacker Jake Fischer was the leader of the aggressive defensive unit, totaling 14 tackles, including a sack and 1.5 stops for loss. The Wildcats were the more disciplined squad, too, losing only 23 yards on penalties, while the Eagles were flagged five times for 55 yards. The bowl victory was Arizona s second-straight (also won 2012 New Mexico Bowl) and gave the program back-to-back eight-win seasons for the first time since For Openers: Arizona is all-time in the first game of the season, winning six consecutive and 12 of the last 14...The Cats open the season at home for the sixth time in the last seven seasons (opened at Toledo in 2010)... UA is 15-0 since its last season-opening defeat at Arizona Stadium, which was a decision against Iowa on Sept. 12, UA has given up a grand total of 35 points over the last six season openers (5.8 ppg). The Cats have outscored those foes over the six games Rich Rodriguez is 9-3 all-time in season openers at West Virginia, Michigan and Arizona. Outta This League: In two seasons at Arizona, Rich Rodriguez is a perfect 8-0 against non-conference opponents. That includes victories over each of the three non-conference teams on the slate this season. Last year in Las Vegas, Arizona easily defeated UNLV, 59-13, in the second game of the season. A week later in Tucson, the Wildcats rolled to a victory over UTSA, which happens to host Arizona in San Antonio next Thursday. The third opponent the Cats face this season will be Nevada, which Arizona rallied to upend, 49-48, at the 2012 Gildan New Mexico Bowl. Arizona in the NCAA Rankings Category Rk. He needed just nine carries in the second quarter alone to rack up his then-11th career 100-yard game and he finished with a game-high 171 yards the fifth straight game he has rushed for 170 or more yards Not to be overshadowed, backfield mate Daniel Jenkins ran for 82 yards and quarterback B.J. Denker added 60 yards and two touchdowns Meanwhile, the Wildcats defense got into the action with Jake Fischer (49 yards) and Tra Mayne Bondurant (52 yards) stepping in front of Nick Sherry passes and returning them for touchdowns It was a two-touchdown game for the defense it s first in some 202 contests dating to 1996 Continuing with the defensive trends, the unit was stout on third downs, holding the Rebels to a 4-for-15 conversion rate and even worse 0-for-3 rate on fourth downs Kicker Jake Smith connected on 3-of-4 field goals, added seven extra points and kicked off 11 times in a game that saw him set a school record with 16 points by kicking Freshman linebacker Scooby Wright continued to show what he can do defensively, leading the charge with seven tackles and one for loss The scoring output was the second-most in modern history for Arizona in a road game, and it was the largest margin of victory in road contest since 1952 Rich Rodriguez won his 130th career game and the Wildcats won for the third straight time away from home. Auspicious August Openers: For the second year in a row, Arizona opens its season in the month of August (defeated Northern Arizona, 35-0, last Aug. 30). Last season s victory over the Lumberjacks was the first August game for the Cats since a 70-0 thrashing of Idaho on Aug. 31, 2008, under former coach Mike Stoops. That gives Arizona a cushy cumulative score in the last two August games, an edge that reinforces itself to when you add in previous romps over UTEP (2003, 42-7) and Northern Arizona (2002, 37-3). In fact, the Wildcats are 6-1 all-time playing in the eighth month on the calendar, falling only once at Penn State (41-7 in 1999). Arizona s first-ever game in August was a 23-3 victory against UTEP in In six all-time August wins, the Cats average 38.3 points per game and have allowed only two total touchdowns. Labor Day Weekend: The Labor Day weekend has been kind to UA football over the years when the Wildcats play at home. Since the college football season began opening on (or before) Labor Day weekend back in 1983, the Wildcats have played 16 home games on the holiday weekend. UA s record in those contests is 15-1, including 14 straight wins dating back to 1985 (only loss was to Fresno State in 1984). More impressive, though, is the fact that the Cats have outscored opponents over the 16 games. Additionally, UA has allowed an opponent to score double-digit points just four times in those games (27 to Fresno St. in 1984, 13 to BYU in 2006, 10 to NAU in 2011 and 17 to Toledo in 2012). Traditionally the holiday weekend has resulted in a lower attendance figure since many local families have used the time for one final summer vacation. But since 2006, the Wildcats have averaged just under 52,000 fans (including 53,793 last year) at the six Labor Day weekend games, a nice increase over the school s 47,097 average in the 15 such games. Weekday Openers: For the eighth time in program history, the Wildcats open a season on a weekday. Interestingly, this will be just the second time in school history Arizona begins its season with a weekday home game after first doing so with a 35-0 victory over Northern Arizona on Friday, Aug. 30, last season. Previous weekday openers include 1994 at Georgia Tech (Thursday W, 19-14), 1997 at Oregon (Thursday L, 16-9), 1998 at Hawaii (Thursday W, 27-6), 2001 at San Diego State (Thursday W, 23-10), 2005 at Utah (Friday W, 27-24) and 2010 at Toledo (Friday W, 41-2). Home Sweet Home: A seven-game home slate gives the Wildcats a chance to capitalize on their opportunities at Arizona Stadium, where the program has enjoyed success in recent seasons. In fact, Arizona has completely erased a seven-year string of losing home records suffered from by going at home since the start of the 2007 season. That checks out to a.674 winning percentage, which has improved to.714 as Rich Rodriguez s charges have posted a 10-4 mark over the last two years, including a win over an AP Top-10 team each season. First Strikes: It seems rather simple, but scoring first goes a long way to determining the outcome of a game at least if Rich Rodriguez s first two seasons are any indication. When Arizona scores first, it has posted a 10-2 record over the last two seasons, including a 6-1 mark last year. On the flip side, if opponents score first, the Wildcats have struggled to a 6-8 record (2-4 in 2013) Arizona Football Game 1 vs. UNLV

5 Sweet 16: Head Coach Rich Rodriguez has led Arizona to a record in his first two seasons. The only coach in school history to post a more successful first two-year run is College Football Hall of Fame member Jim Young, whose Wildcat squads went 17-5 in the seasons. Otherwise, Rodriguez has set a new modern day standard and he s the only coach in program history that has led the team to bowl games in each of his first two seasons let alone win both bowls. The back-to-back eight-win seasons are quite notable considering the Wildcats had accomplished such a feat only three previous times since joining the Pac-10/12 in 1978 ( , and ). Staff Continuity: In Year 3, Rich Rodriguez welcomes back his entire assistant coaching staff from last season. The staff continuity is a tangible sign that Rodriguez is building a solid foundation for the Arizona football program. In fact, Arizona has not had a season of full staff retention since 1999 when Dick Tomey and Co. returned following one of the most successful seasons in school history a 12-1 record capped with a Holiday Bowl victory over Nebraska in Since, John Mackovic saw turnover in each of his three seasons at the helm from , and Mike Stoops replaced at least one assistant coach in all eight of his seasons in Tucson. Turnovers Tell the Tale: If any statistic has been indicative of Arizona s success under Rich Rodriguez, it s been turnovers. When the Wildcats win the turnover battle, there are 9-0 over the last two seasons, including spotless 5-0 mark in Splitting the turnover battle has been a good omen, too, with a 4-2 mark in those games to give Arizona a steady 13-2 record when winning or tying turnovers. However, committing more turnovers than the foe has been dooming. The Wildcats are just 3-8 when losing the turnover battle, so no doubt ball security will be a premium throughout this season. Cats on Preseason Watch Lists Steven Gurrola, Senior, Center» Rimington Trophy Austin Hill, Senior, Receiver» Maxwell Award» BiletnikoffAward» Walter Camp Award Jared Tevis, Senior, Safety» Lott IMPACT» Bednarik Award 2014 Honors/Awards Scoring 30: Arizona has made scoring 30 points seem quite easy under Rich Rodriguez. The squad has done so 20 times in the 26 games over the last season. For comparison s sake, Arizona needed 42 games to score 30 points on 20 occasions in the four seasons leading into the Rodriguez era. When the Wildcats do score 30 under Rodriguez, they usually win as evidenced by a 16-4 overall record, including an 8-1 mark last season. Getting to 40 points is even more decisive for the Wildcats, who are 9-1 under Rodriguez in such games. Island of the Misfit Transfers: Arizona may not be surrounded by water or ice, but the program has proven to be a perfect destination for transfers to land on their feet. Rich Rodriguez and Co. have welcomed 13 such players with open arms over the last couple seasons, patching holes on the depth at various positions. Among them are two players from LSU, two from Texas, one from Notre Dame and another from USC. Most notable is the added depth at quarterback, where one-time Trojan Jesse Scroggins is in his second yet final year as a Wildcat. He s been in competition with former Tiger Jerrard Randall and ex-longhorn Connor Brewer, along with redshirt freshman Anu Solomon, for the starting quarterback position. The winner(s?) will get the luxury of throwing to Texas transfer Cayleb Jones and former Notre Dame receiver DaVonte Neal, who played in the 2012 BCS national title game. Now, Arizona hopes its collection of misfits can find Rudolph with a rosy-red nose to make it all a happy ending by season s end. Wildcats with Previous Stops at FBS Schools Jordan Allen (Sr., DL, LSU) Brendan Murphy (Sr., DB, Air Force) Freddie Tagaloa (Jr., OL, California) Connor Brewer (Soph., QB, Texas) DaVonte Neal (Soph., WR, Notre Dame) Blair Tushaus (Sr., TE, BYU) Cayleb Jones (Soph. No Problem! Rich Rodriguez is 2-for-2 working with first-year quarterbacks at Arizona, following successful one-year stints by seniors Matt Scott (2012) and B.J. Denker (2013). It s something Rodriguez has been accustomed to throughout his career, whether it be at West Virginia, Michigan or Arizona. With the Mountaineers, Rodriguez molded Rasheed Marshall into a 13-game starter in the 9-4 season of Marshall rushed for 666 yards and 13 scores, while tossing for nine more touchdowns and 1,616 yards. A few years later, Pat White became the starter midway through the 2005 season en route to a Freshman All-American season as WVU went White racked up 952 rushing yards and accounted for 15 total scores to begin a stellar career. Once at Michigan, Rodriguez molded Dennard Robinson from a freshman part-time quarterback/running back to a 13-game starter at quarterback in his sophomore season of Robinson racked up 4,272 yards of total offense, finishing second in the nation while the Wolverines went 7-6 that season. Regardless, who calls the signals was a point of conversation all offseason, with a quartet of quarterbacks vying for the starting nod before Anu Solomon was tabbed on Monday. Arizona had two veterans by class identification (though neither has started an FBS game): senior Jesse Scroggins, a former USC Trojan, and junior Jerrard Randall, a former LSU Tiger. Another transfer, sophomore Connor Brewer from Texas, and redshirt freshman Anu Solomon were the two other contenders from the underclass ranks. Under Center Part II: Arizona enters the season having started an upper-class quarterback in 51-consecutive games dating to the 2009 season. That year, Nick Foles (10 starts) and Matt Scott (three starts) combined to start all 13 games as sophomores. Foles went on to start 22 more games in his junior and senior campaigns, while Scott started two in 2010, redshirted in 2011 and started 12 games in Rich Rodriguez s first season of Of course, senior B.J. Denker was the trigger man for all 13 games a season ago. What it amounted to was the possibility that senior Jesse Scroggins or junior Jerrard Randall could have extended a rather significant streak a bit further. On the flip side, sophomore Connor Brewer or redshirt freshman Anu Solomon could snap the streak with an underclassmen taking the snaps. Now with Solomon poised to start on Friday, he would be the first freshman to start at quarterback for the Wildcats since Willie Tuitama earned four starts as a true freshman to close the 2005 season. Tuitama went on to start the majority of the next three seasons, culminating in a Las Vegas Bowl victory over BYU in A Fresh Start: On Monday, Rich Rodriguez named redshirt freshman Anu Solomon the starting quarterback for Friday s opener against UNLV. It s a fitting matchup for Solomon, who was a four-time Nevada state champion at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas. But historically, a start by Solomon would mean something quite significant at Arizona. For starters, the Wildcats have not utilized a freshman quarterback be it a redshirt or true freshman at the position since 2005, when true freshman Willie Tuitama started the final four games of the season. More noteworthy, Solomon is poised to do something that has never been done in school history: begin the season as a freshman starter. Indeed, no Wildcat freshman redshirt or true freshman has started a season opener going back to 1972 when freshmen became eligible to play. Arizona has had a few worthy contenders, including Keith Smith in 1996, who arguably could have been the guy out of camp, but then head coach Dick Tomey opted to start junior Brady Batten for the first two games before handing the reigns over to the more dynamic Smith. A decade earlier, Ronald Veal was passed over by Tomey in favor of the more experienced Bobby Watters, who transferred out of scandal-plagued SMU, to start the first handful of games in Watters had the job for a few games, but a hand injury sustained against a Troy Aikman-led UCLA squad opened the door for Veal thereafter. Going back another decade, College Football Hall of Famer Jim Young s squad in 1976 featured local Tucson native and Amphi High School product Jim Krohn, who was thrust into action as a freshman in the second game of the year after junior Marc Lunsford went down with an injury. It was Lunsford who sat as a backup for two seasons behind Bruce Hill, a highly-talented quarterback who may have been Arizona s most capable freshman to play out of the gate. However, Hill was unable to see action with the varsity during his freshman campaign in 1971 as he missed the NCAA rule change to allow freshmen to play by one season. After a strong year with the freshman team, Hill went on to quarterback some of the best teams in school history under Young, including consecutive nine-win seasons in 1974 and Interestingly, all three aforementioned freshmen candidates Smith, Veal and Hill had a versatile set of skills and athleticism to thrive in the multiple spread offense like the one Rodriguez employs at Arizona these days. In the Trenches: Entering 2014, an overlooked strength of the Arizona football team is the experience along the offensive line. The Wildcats return four full-time starters, including tackles Fabbians Ebbele (37 starts) and Mickey Baucus (38), center Stephen Gurrola (13) and guard Cayman Bundage (14). Together, the group has combined for 102 career starts, while versatile Lene Maiava has two starts to push the tally to 104 starts on the roster. Redshirt freshmen Jacob Alsadek and T.D. Gross are 6-foot-7 and 6-foot-6, respectively, and figure to factor in to the depth at the guard positions for second-year line coach Jim Michalczik. The Graduates: Five of Arizona s starters have already earned their degrees from the school. Bookend tackles Mickey Baucus (economy and industry) and Fabbians Ebbele (economy and industry) have combined for 75 career starts on the offensive line and each has a degree in hand. On the defensive side of the ball, lineman Dan Pettinato (sports and society) and defensive backs Jared Tevis (finance) and Jonathan McKnight (social behavior and human understanding) have also earned their degrees Arizona Football Game 1 vs. UNLV

7 Where in the World? Arizona s roster includes players from 19 states and others from South Africa, American Samoa and Mexico. From the Pac-12 footprint, the Cats have players from Arizona, Washington, Oregon, California and Colorado, while excluding only Utah. Elsewhere around the U.S., Arizona players hail from Texas, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Ohio, North Carolina, Wisconsin, New York, Georgia, Hawaii, New Mexico and Oklahoma. The message from Coach Rodriguez and Co. is clear: no matter where you re from, if you love playing football, you can come to Arizona. What More Can Scooby Do? As a true freshman, linebacker Scooby Wright made a name for himself as an emerging star in the league. The Windsor, Calif., native finished his rookie campaign tied for third on the squad with 83 tackles, including 9.5 for loss. Those stops behind the line of scrimmage actually put him No. 5 among returning Pac-12 players in the category. Wright was also involved in one of the most memorable plays of the 2013 season, when he hauled in an interception after corner Shaquille Richardson tipped a Marcus Mariota pass back in bounds to open the thrilling upset of Oregon last November. This year, Wright slides into the middle linebacker role and changes uniform numbers from No. 31 to No. 33, which was previously worn by Jake Fischer the team-leader with 99 tackles as a senior a year ago. Defensive Improvement: Defensive coordinator Jeff Casteel has done a tremendous job improving the Arizona defense in just two short seasons. Prior to his arrival with Rich Rodriguez for the 2012 season, the Wildcats were one of the most porous units in the country, and the cupboard was bare in terms of talent. The result was a difficult 2012 season when as many as six walkons were relied on significantly, yet the defensive numbers improved slightly and the club was able to win eight games, including a New Mexico Bowl comeback against Nevada. Last season, with improved depth and experience, the Wildcat defense made more significant strides and moved to the middle of the Pac-12 in most statistical categories. Some of the numbers below show the improvement over the last two seasons, which include holding opponents to a full yard less per play and nearly two yards per pass attempt less than the 2011 unit before Casteel and Co. arrived. Year Yards/Play Yards/Pass Yards/Rush year improvement They Sure Were Picky: Last season, Arizona s defense intercepted 18 passes, which were the most at the school in more than two decades dating the 1990 season (also 18 INTs). Equally as noteworthy, the Wildcats returned five of those interceptions for touchdowns, which was one shy of the school record of six set in the 1996 season. A total of 10 players had an interception, but the leader was Tra Mayne Bondurant with four, including two for touchdowns. Seniors Jake Fischer and Marquis Flowers each had pick-six s, while now junior William Parks had a 69-yard return for a score in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl to help earn defensive MVP honors. Bondurant, Parks, Jared Tevis, Jourdon Grandon, Jonathan McKnight, Scooby Wright and Devin Holiday combined for 13 of the 18 interceptions, and each returns to the defensive unit this season. Guess Who s Back: Austin Hill is back, and that is a very good thing for whoever becomes the starting quarterback. The 6-foot-3 receiver missed all of the 2013 season recovering from a torn ACL, which he sustained in the spring of that year. In 2012, Hill was a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist following a sensational campaign that saw him catch 81 passes for 1,364 yards and a 11 touchdowns. The yardage total was second-most in the Pac-12 and sixth-most nationally that season, and ranks as third-highest tally in program history. The Corona, Calif., native averaged yards per game, surpassing the century mark in five contests, highlighted by a 259-yard breakout game in an upset of USC. His 11 receiving touchdowns tied the school record set on four previous occasions and pushed his career total to 13, which is just outside the all-time top-10 at the school. With 1,675 career yards, Hill is within reach of becoming only the seventh Wildcat to reach 2,000 for a career. Up Next: It will be a short turnaround for the Wildcats, who travel to play at UTSA next Thursday, Sept. 4, in San Antonio. The game will be televised live on FOX Sports 1 beginning at 7 p.m. (CDT). Thereafter, Arizona plays its first Saturday game of the season when it hosts Nevada at Arizona Stadium on Sept. 13. Just like in the Rebels season opener at Minnesota, big plays and turnovers doomed them again Saturday night in their home opener against Arizona, falling Wildcats star running back Ka Deem Carey, who was suspended for the Wildcats opening game against Northern Arizona and sat in Saturday s first quarter, rushed for 171 yards with two touchdowns. His first carry was a 58-yard score through the middle. UNLV quarterback Nick Sherry struggled and was under pressure several times, completing 6 of 22 for 111 yards, including two interceptions for touchdowns in the second quarter. The interceptions counted for two of the three Rebels turnovers Sherry s lone highlight was a 69-yard touchdown pass to Devante Davis on the first play of the second quarter. You can t come into a game against a Pac-12 team and turn it over for touchdowns and scores and hope to win it, UNLV coach Bobby Hauck said. (Arizona) did a really nice job in the first half and we didn t handle it at all. We ve got to flush this game and move on to the next one. Caleb Herring replaced Sherry on UNLV s first drive in the third quarter as the second-half pace seemed to be on afterburners after the Wildcats (2-0) led 45-6 at halftime. That score also sent many of the 26,950 fans home early as the second string players played in a near empty Sam Boyd Stadium during the second half. UNLV (0-2) stays at home the next two weeks, hosting two non-bcs opponents in Central Michigan and Western Illinois respectively. Our team will come back. They are resilient, Hauck said. The guys will come out and play their tails off next week. 9 Rich Rodriguez enters his third season as head coach of the Arizona football program. He was introduced as Arizona s 30th head coach on Nov. 22, Entering the 2014 season, Rodriguez carries a career record of in 20 seasons, marked by Division I records of at West Virginia, at Michigan and with the Wildcats. He is the first coach in Arizona history to lead the program to bowl games in his first two seasons at the helm. In Rodriguez s second season, the Wildcats posted an 8-5 record with a bowl victory over the Boston College Eagles in the AdvoCare V100 Bowl in Shreveport, La. Arizona also knocked off a top-10 ranked team for the second-straight season with a win over No. 5 Oregon on Nov. 23. Running back Ka Deem Carey earned consensus All-America honors for the second-straight season, was named the 2013 Pac-12 offensive Player of the Year and a Doak Walker Award finalist. He ended his three seasons in Tucson as Arizona s all-time career rushing leader (4,239 yards) and all-time all-purpose yardage leader (5,483). Senior B.J. Denker threw for 2,516 yards, completing 233 of 381 attempts with just seven interceptions, and connected on 16 scores to eight different receivers. Showing his versatility, Denker also rushed for 949 yards on 181 attempts with 13 scores. The 2012 season proved successful for Arizona in Rodriguez s spread-offense, no-huddle system. The Cats beat No. 10 USC, 39-36, on Oct. 27 en route to an 8-5 season and a win over Nevada in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl. Carey led the nation in total rushing yards (1,929) and yards per game (148.38) while rewriting the Arizona record book. For his efforts, Carey was named first-team All-Pac-12 and a consensus All-American, UA s first on the offensive side of the ball. Rodriguez inherited a fifth-year senior in quarterback Matt Scott who was perfectly suited to run the Wildcat offense. With Scott as signal caller, Arizona was 7-5 as he orchestrated come-frombehind wins against No. 10 USC and Nevada in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl. Earning second-team All-Pac-12 honors, Scott led the conference in yards per game with and ranked No. 2 in the league in total yardage. Austin Hill totaled 81 catches for 1,364 yards and 11 touchdowns to lead the Wildcat receivers in He was named a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist, second-team All-Pac-12 and fourth-team All-America by Phil Steele.
