After being named the fourth head coach in program history on June 3, 2009, Wright helped lead the Bruins to the MPSF Tournament title, UCLA s first conference tournament championship since After opening conference play with consecutive losses midway through October, Wright knew that the Bruins would have to win the MPSF Tournament to advance to the NCAA Tournament. The first-year head coach adjusted the team s practice and conditioning regimen, preparing the Bruins for the three-day tournament setting. After closing its MPSF schedule with a 5-3 mark, at fourth place in the standings, UCLA surged in the conference tournament. The Bruins opened with an 8-5 win over No. 5-seed Pepperdine, before upsetting No. 1-seed and tournament host USC, UCLA cruised into an MPSF Tournament title showdown against No. 3-seed California, fresh off an upset of No. 2-seed Stanford. The Bruins won a back-and-forth affair against the Golden Bears, pulling away in the fourth quarter to win, In his first year at the helm, Wright saw three of his players earn ACWPC All-America acclaim, while two players earned honorable mention accolades. Scott Davidson, a first-team All-America selection, became the first Bruin to earn MPSF Player of the Year honors since 2000 (Sean Kern). Ben Hohl and Chay Lapin were each honored as second-team All-America and All-MPSF selections. Davidson finished his career ranking fifth on UCLA s career goals list (152), and Lapin became the Bruins all-time saves leader, making 719 stops in four seasons as a goalkeeper. Prior to his tenure as head coach, Wright was a four-year letterwinner at UCLA from , helping lead the Bruins to back-to-back NCAA titles in 1999 and Following his collegiate career, he served as a key member on the U.S. National Team, participating in the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games. He helped lead Team USA to a seventh-place finish in 2004 (Athens) and to the silver medal in 2008 (Beijing). Wright served as an assistant coach with the UCLA men s and women s water polo teams during the school year. He helped guide the women s program to an unprecedented fifth consecutive NCAA championship in May Following the 2008 men s water polo season, Wright played an integral role in securing the top men s recruiting class in the nation. In addition, Wright served as an assistant coach with the varsity boys and girls water polo programs at Wilson High School (Long Beach, Calif.) from He helped coach the boys program to four consecutive CIF Division I championships and Moore League titles. Wright coached the girls team to two Moore League titles and two CIF Division I quarterfinal playoff appearances. As a senior at UCLA in 2000, Wright scored 39 goals before earning honorable mention All-America acclaim and second-team All-MPSF honors. In 1999, he secured third-team All-America and second-team All-MPSF honors. That season, Wright led UCLA in assists (27) and was second in total points (48) and steals (39). In his first two seasons, he scored 43 goals 26 as a freshman and 27 as a sophomore. He gained second-team All-America honors in 1998 and was an honorable mention All-America and All-MPSF selection as a freshman in Wright graduated from UCLA in 2001 with degrees in history and sociology. Following his collegiate career, Wright competed in the European League (Italy and Russia) for Bissolati Cremona, Civitavecchia SNC, Nuoto Catania and Dynamo Moscow from He competed for the U.S. National Team in all major tournaments from , helping lead Team USA to the gold medal at the 2003 and 2007 Pan American Games as well as the 2005 ASUA Cup (Mexico City). Wright, 32, is married to Kerry Norris, a former UCLA women s soccer player. Adam and Kerry reside in Los Angeles with their daughter, Rome (born July 2010).

2 COACHING STAFF adam KRIKORIAN ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH 15th Year at UCLA Alma Mater: UCLA 97 Adam Krikorian enters his 15th season on the UCLA men s water polo coaching staff in Krikorian served as the program s head coach from and in an assistant capacity from before assuming Associate Head Coaching duties in July Krikorian concurrently serves as head coach of the U.S. Women s Water Polo National Team. Krikorian has won 15 national titles 11 as a head coach (men s and women s), three as an assistant coach and one as a student-athlete in 18 years with the UCLA water polo programs. Krikorian helped lead the men s program to NCAA titles as head coach in 1999, 2000 and 2004 and as an assistant coach in As a senior, he led the Bruins to the 1995 NCAA title, UCLA s first men s water polo championship since On the women s side, Krikorian coached UCLA to eight national championships (7 NCAA) as head coach from He helped engineer UCLA s remarkable run of five consecutive NCAA women s water polo titles from Serving as an assistant coach with the women s program in 1997 and 1998, he led UCLA to national titles each season. As the men s water polo head coach from , Krikorian guided UCLA to three NCAA Championships and recorded a overall record (.756 winning percentage). His men s water polo teams went in MPSF play in 10 seasons, and two of his men s teams posted a perfect 8-0 MPSF record (1999, 2004). Between both water polo programs, Krikorian has coached six Peter J. Cutino Award recipients, seven National Player of the Year selections and 12 Olympians. On the men s side, Sean Kern won the Cutino Award in 1999 and 2000 and was named the National Player of the Year in Brett Ormsby earned National Player of the Year honors as a senior in Krikorian led the UCLA men s and women s teams to national championships in the same season on three occasions during the , and school years. The 2004 men s water polo team finished with the best winning percentage of any UCLA water polo team since The women s team completed the second undefeated season in NCAA water polo history that spring by running off 33 consecutive victories. In 2004, Krikorian guided the men s program to their first perfect MPSF finish since 1999 and first NCAA championship since securing back-to-back titles in 1999 and The 2004 team also compiled an 18-game winning streak, which included winning the NorCal Tournament title and gaining multiple victories over the nation s other three top-ranked teams Stanford, California and USC. In 2000, Krikorian led the men s program to its fourth NCAA title in six years. He also coached the UCLA women to the inaugural NCAA championship in the spring of 2001, coaching in the absence of Guy Baker (who then served as the USA Women s Water Polo Head Coach). The 2001 women s squad finished the season with an 18-4 overall mark, including a 9-1 MPSF record, and won its second consecutive national championship. Krikorian was promoted to Co-Head Coach of the men s program at the start of the 1999 season, after serving as an assistant coach for three seasons. In the spring of 1999, he served as the interim head coach for the women s team, while Baker was coaching Team USA. During the school year, Krikorian served as a student assistant coach as he completed his undergraduate studies, assisting Baker in leading both squads to national championships. As a senior captain in 1995, Krikorian helped lead UCLA to its first men s water polo national championship since He scored two goals in the Bruins 10-8 win over California in the NCAA title match. During his senior season, he registered a team-best 31 goals, including one two-pointer, while earning second-team All- America and second-team All-MPSF honors. A four-year letterwinner, Krikorian captained the team in 1994 and 1995, leading the Bruins to the NCAA Tournament both seasons. He finished his collegiate career with 76 goals, including a pair of two-pointers, and was named Most Inspiration Player by his teammates in his final three seasons. A standout prep athlete at Mountain View High School, Krikorian was a four-year letterwinner in water polo and swimming. As a senior, he scored 113 goals and earned honorable mention All-America accolades. In 1992, he helped lead his team to the National Junior Olympic Championship. Krikorian s older brother, Blake, was on the UCLA water polo team from Krikorian, 36, graduated from UCLA with a psychology degree and a business administration emphasis in June In May of 2001, Krikorian married Anicia Mendez, a four-year Bruin letterwinner in tennis who is completing her MBA at UCLA. Adam and Anicia reside in Manhattan Beach, Calif., with their son Jack (4) and daughter Annabel (born June 2009). The Bruins rebounded by winning 10-7 in the title game of the 2009 MPSF Tournament. Pacific Sunday, Oct. 10 at Pacific, 12 p.m. Four Bruins each scored two goals in an 11-7 win over Pacific at home on Oct. 25 in the two teams only meeting of the season. UCLA has won its last 22 games against the Tigers. Stanford Friday, Oct. 15 at UCLA, 7 p.m. UCLA lost its regular-season MPSF match at Stanford, 8-6, on Oct. 3. The Bruins also lost two games to the Cardinal in each of the NorCal and SoCal Tournaments. UC Irvine Saturday, Oct. 23 at UCLA, 6 p.m. The Bruins opened a 7-2 lin the third quarter before host UC Irvine tied the game with 2:38 left. Ben Hohl scored the game-winner at the 1:46 mark, as UCLA finished the year 2-0 against UCI. Long Beach State Sunday, Oct. 31 at UCLA, 12 p.m. Goalkeeper Chay Lapin collected 21 saves and limited the host 49ers to three goals as UCLA won, 9-3. The Bruins outscored Long Beach State, 25-9, in both victories last fall. USC Saturday, Nov. 6 at USC, 4:30 p.m. Scott Davidson scored a game-high four goals in a 7-6 loss at home to USC on Nov. 7. UCLA went 2-2 against the Trojans last fall, winning games in the NorCal and MPSF Tournaments. Pepperdine Saturday, Nov. 13 at UCLA, 2 p.m. UCLA won its regularseason MPSF match at Pepperdine, 9-6. Three weeks later, the Bruins downed the Waves, 8-5, in the first round of the MPSF Tournament at USC. UC Santa Barbara Sunday, Nov. 14 at UC Santa Barbara, 1 p.m. The Bruins defeated UC Santa Barbara, 9-7, in their final regular-season match last fall at UCLA.
