1 Thompson Minor Hockey Association The Mission of the TMHA is to provide participants in our minor ice hockey program with fair and competitive hockey experience that focuses on the development of individual and team hockey skills, the practice of good sportsmanship and fair play and the opportunity to be challenged while having fun. 2 Correspondence: - Matt received tryout information for the Midget Male and Female AAA teams. It has all been posted and sent out. - Matt has received s about Team Linked Kit. He doesn t think it is something we would be interested in. - Information about registrar system - Information regarding a small grant program. Matt forwarded the to Carlee. - IP mentors are needed for the Norman Region. - Mike Howell from Canadian Tire is still looking to sponsor girls hockey. Matt will follow up. Director s Reports: President: Matthew Steeves - Matt still hasn t heard back from the Rec Committee. The championship banners have been hung in the CA. - Matt has been working on cleaning out the storage room and has plans to dispose of any unnecessary papers and set up a desk and the printer/copier in there for TMHA use. Past President: Vacant VP Admin: Jaime Carey- Regrets VP Tech: Greg Long Secretary: Chelsea Kirkey Treasurer: Erin Murphy- Regrets Registrar: Luke Kempers - The leisure mart is coming September 7 th and 8th. We will have 2 tables and electric service. Will need Wi-Fi to do any registration on site and receipts. Luke will send an electronic volunteer list to members of the board so we can help with registration. - About 30 people have preregistered online for the 2018/2019 season, and about half of those have paid. There have been no issues thus far. Luke is checking about Respect in Sport, try out forms, birth certificates, etc. as he receives them and contacting families about what they need. - After discussion regarding try out forms it was decided they are not necessary. Luke will supply directors with a list of names for tryouts.

3 Publicity/Webmaster: Jenny Long - Jenny has posted all relevant information to both the website and Facebook page. - The manager section on the website is missing forms, it is the only thing Jenny believes needs updating. - Chelsea needs a Sport Ngin account to post minutes to the website. Hockey Development: Carlee Monias- Regrets On-Ice Officials: Donnie Mitchell - There will be a Ref Clinic September 22 nd. Donnie will give Jenny the information to post online. Ice Operations: Dave Dawson - Dave has the schedules done for the AA tryouts and evaluations. September 15 th and 16 th will be evaluations, and September 22 nd and 23 rd will be AA tryouts. A tryouts will be he following weekend, but the schedule is not done yet. Schedule may change if we do not have coaches for Midget and Bantam. Equipment Manager: Adam Uhrina Tournament Director: Shelley Ellingson- Regrets Munn Cup: Jenny Cameron- Regrets Pre-Novice: Vacant Novice: Dennis Rathgeber - Dennis ordered jerseys, he is unsure of if he will get them. Atom: Devin Richcoon - Devin has received correspondence from Brett from McDonalds. He would like some Atom coaches and kids in Atom jerseys to attend the Grand Opening of the new store. He is unsure of the date yet, but will follow up. - Also received was an from AtoMc looking to sponsor a house league tournament. Devin will keep us informed. As we already have Munn Cup for the Atom kids he is thinking about doing a skills weekend or Atom playoffs instead. Pee-wee: Rob Bassett- Regrets Bantam: Dave Johnstone Midget: Lindsay Anderson-Absent Female: Vacant

4 Fundraising Coordinator: Jessica Smith New Business: - Travel to season opener Season opener will be held September 28 th and 29 th. We must send a minimum of 2, generally president and registrar. Depending on how many we send, Matt would like to request flights rather than driving. Cost of cabs, meals, hotel should also be covered. Tabled to next meeting. - Vacant coaching positions The Bantam AA coach resigned. The positions have been posted online, and ads are still running in the newspaper. - Police checks These need to be completed. Matt will check with Kevin Lewis to ensure they are kept for us. - Bantam AAA playing house league Discussion regarding whether to allow kids that make the Bantam AAA team to play in house league. Last year it was allowed as a pilot project, and 5 kids played. Discussed pros and cons of allowing it again and what happened last year. Tabled until next meeting when we have more information - Try out weekends/hockey start up Dave has the schedules done up for the first two weekends as stated in his report. Waiting to hear back from Corey Sparkes with the city to confirm ice times. Old Business: - Disciplinary committee Tabled to next meeting - Laptops Matt has spoken to The Source regarding purchasing a couple more computers. He would like one for the registrar, the treasurer, the secretary, and himself. One was returned from a past board member and it has been cleaned up. We will vote once we have more information.
