Approval of the minutes from March Motion to accepted and pass unanimously. Presidents Report John Veilleux announced he will transition to the Casco Bay Arena board John Veilleux thanked all the current board members for their service this year. Over the course of this year we have had a lot of reorganization in many of our divisions this year including our Casco Bay Academy (initiation), mites and squirts. Several of our travel teams competed at State tournaments with our Squirt travel A team competing for the New England Regional title. Our Girls U14A attended the National finals tournament and were bronze medal champions! Casco Bay Arena We currently are offering box lacrosse at the rink of which we have over 100+ members enrolled John Veilleux recognized the work of many who assisted with getting the rink up and running

Treasure Report (Sarah Kramlich) Casco Bay Hockey Association Sarah noted we will break even with the Arena this year. We have had a strong financial model and been keeping $50k CD to help ensure our stability. We have 800 strong members Casco Bay donated approx. $184k towards the building of a new rink. John Veilleux thanks Sarah for her years of service. She joined us 7 years ago and has worked hard to bring the organization back to the financial portion of Casco Bay. Registrar (Stephanie Haskins) Casco Bay Hockey continues to offer strong house and travel programs for Southern Maine. This season 793 skaters and 146 coaches were rostered. Our breakdown was as follows: Casco Bay Academy 164 skaters House Mites - 8 teams/78 skaters House Squirts 5 teams/84 skaters House Peewee 4 teams/64 skaters House Bantam 3 teams/49 skaters House Midgets 4 teams/68 skaters Travel Squirts 2 teams/31 skaters Travel Peewee 3 teams/47 skaters Travel Bantam 2 teams/ 33 skaters Travel Midget 3 teams/ 68 skaters Girls U12 2 teams/31 skaters Girls U14 2 teams/33 skaters Girls U16 1 team/15 skaters Girls U19 2 teams/34 skaters Strengths: o From a registrar perspective, this was a very positive season! Our second year with the online registration portal went smoothly, and updates are helping improve the user experience. Coaching and player changes were communicated effectively and our new ACE director did an amazing job of tracking coaches regarding credentials, safesport, etc! Looking Ahead: o As positions on the board change, it is important to be mindful of communication. Keeping the treasurer and registrar in the loop is always a good idea when players move, coaches come and go, etc. Additionally, the ever- growing list of coaching requirements is causing difficulty when it comes to rostering teams. It is important for all to be mindful of the requirements as well as the timelines that are imposed. Division Directors: Referee Equipment Director (Tom Clifford) This year we were able to introduce some different teams to the divisions, which allowed for the players to take home jerseys of different teams. A thank you to Play It Again sports for all of their cooperation with our equipment needs Officiating We once again saw our numbers increase here at Casco Bay as far as new officials go. It is always nice to hear from our coaches and parents about how much they appreciate the officials that work CB games after they have

been to a game out of town or to a tournament someplace. Thank you to Sarah K for her work in making sure the officials were paid quickly, and to all 4 schedulers, Sally, Eric, Scott and Chris K for making sure when changes happened, that I was made aware, as well to Chris Prinn for sending me the monthly schedules with the most recent updates. This year from our officiating group, we had 4 officials that worked in a ME High school state championship game, an official that worked the DIII women's national championship game, 2 officials that worked at USA hockey national championship games (1 lined the U 16 girls national final and an official worked as the referee for the USA High School national championship game), as well as a large group that worked games during the ME high school playoff games. This year Casco Bay played 465 homes games, and am happy to say that we had only 4 games that had 1 official. Tournaments (Amanda Woodford) Mites season ending tournaments were very well received. Ran as half ice however scores were kept and teams advanced to championship game on Sunday. Special thanks to Matt and his assistant coach Caitlin for the tremendous amount of assistance with this tournament. CB Holiday "Pond Hockey" style tournaments for Bantams was well received and the recommendation is to move all levels above Mites to this format next year at CBA and other rinks only if needed. Recommendation is to bring back the March season ending tournaments for Squirt, Peewee and Bantam divisions with posting to the webpage early to attract outside associations. March ice should not be an issue with utilization of CBA and running two divisions the same weekend. Determination of which two divisions will be made based on numbers next year. Early posting to CB website is key for outside associations to attend. Weekend dates can be determined early in season and posted once number of teams are solidified. Team Administrator (Bethany Wilson) TA were amazing. No issues with the books this year. All TA s were prepared for States. This year we had TA s for the CB Hockey Academy which was new and a huge help. Girls Team Administrator (Rachel Pargeter) This is a new position this year in which she supports the Girls Program and the Web and NGIN. Assists with the TA binders for states. Marketing Update (Rich Lappin) Fundraising: Most recent tally on Dunkin Donut mug program: $54,340. We had a little over $2K in expenses. Overall, good year for the Mug program and will set us up well for next year. I documented a few things that we learned along the way to ensure continued success in the future. Overall feedback has been positive. Have started to document plan for next year in hopes that we have prizes in place before selling begins. DD Player of the month: Several players have had plaques put up in local DD stores. The last two months ended up being teams. Will look to streamline this process a bit more next year with possible focus on the CBA kids. Tough to focus on one player towards the end of the year when the full team is really the story. Marketing: Website and Facebook page: Continue to work with Chris to ensure photos and stories about yearend success stories have been posted. Maintaining Face book page as well as we typically see views of the stories we post on Face book. Clearly, this is an opportunity to reach a broader audience. Will look to use Face book page as a way to promote new skater registrations in 2016.

Casco Bay in the News: U14 girls and Squirt tier 2 teams were recently highlighted in Forecaster newspaper as well as Forecaster website for their State and Regional championships. Story was sent to Press Herald as well and believe it was highlighted in their Milestones section. Dasher board advertising: Have several requests out to multiple businesses and more to be sent out. Recently signed a contract with Ricetta s for dasher board advertising as well as 10% off for CB hockey players. More to come in the future on how that will work. Webmaster (Chris Prinn) Coaching: Coaching Director (Shawn White) Coaching surveys went out. Should have the results soon. This summer we will run the summer program on Sunday mornings for 8 weeks. This will include dry land at CBA. The invite should go out this week. Skills Development Director (Glenn Jonsson) By adding back in weekly skills training we did see some good growth in our players' development. Our trainers this year were: Kent Hulst and Ray Jean (goalies) for PW and Bantam, Matt Libby and Fred Quistgard (goalies) for Squirt and Kristin Andrews for power skating. Kent and Matt worked with our players every Tuesday night and the goalie instructors came every other week. A few teams also chose to work with Shelby Turcotte from NYA for off- ice conditioning (which they coordinated with Shelby on their own). Along with extra ice times this year, CB did a good job in creating an environment that will retain our current travel players and attract new players that fit well within our organization. This was the first year that the Board has had this position and I feel that it was a good decision in getting skills training back on the schedule. Going forward, I believe this role can be coordinated by the Travel director position as it is not a full time board level time commitment. Next year, it will be important to get Kristin Andrews schedule in advance to ensure her availability. Her expertise in power skating is tremendous and we need to have her on the ice more than we had this year. ACE Director (Jason Cyr) Overall, the season went pretty well. We had 150 coaches registered with CB. Out of that group, only a handful failed to meet training requirements imposed by USA Hockey and were removed from their respective rosters as required. To make it easier for the registrar and ACE Director, we will be adding some lines into the Casco Bay Coaches registration form that require coaches to enter their SafeSport Completion codes and dates of completion before the registration is complete. That is a preseason requirement and is difficult to manage as the season gets started. New for next season is that USA Hockey is mandating that all age specific modules be completed prior to the season, as opposed to by 10/31 or 12/31 as was the policy previously. In order to comply with this new rule, we are also adding in a line to the registration for the coaches to indicate the age group(s) they are coaching, and the date of completion of their age module. That way they have to look it up and see if they need it or not. I d like to hold a coaches meeting at some point in the next few weeks for all coaches expecting to return next season to go over the new registration policies and training requirements. We should have another one in late September as well. Goalie Coaching update (Tim Barnard) The season was a great breakthrough for CBH goaltenders. This season s addition of weekly skills sessions with the inclusion of skilled goaltending coaches (Ray and Fred) enabled the goalies to get individual attention on a

weekly basis. This was a big improvement over past years at CB and from what I have heard, a step above other area programs. Our Casco Bay Academy was provided with a set of goalie gear and put it to use at the Learn To Play level at weekly scrimmages. The Mite division this year had increased focus on goaltenders with the inclusion of coaches to specifically work with them and run practice stations for goalies mixed in with the overall practice plans. By dedicating a coach or two at this division to work with the goaltenders goes a long way with their individual improvement of skills. Coaches throughout all divisions were asked to appoint at least one coach per team to work with their goaltenders. Skills sessions for House and Travel Squirt, Pewee and Bantam goaltenders was provided on a weekly basis. At the house level, goalies were invited to attend all skills sessions regardless of their team s scheduled skill session time. This allowed for goalies to make different skill sessions based on their desire and team s schedules. Although we started the Travel skills sessions with every other week goalie training, we soon realized we could offer goalies the opportunity to attend weekly skills sessions by grouping the Squirts with the Pewees and Pewees with squirts on alternating weeks. Ideas to help improve skills sessions for goaltenders next year is to continue to invite goalies to attend non- team specific skills sessions that have goalie coaches in attendance. This would be by team or division basis and would provide goalies with the optional opportunity to train once or more per week depending on available skills sessions and goaltender s schedules. It will be important to sell this from day one, so that all goalies know they will have the opportunity to go to sessions that are not on their Team s schedules. Perhaps creating a separate Sport Ngin goalie schedule would be worth looking into. Skills sessions on a weekend for house mites and squirts showed low attendance numbers at times based on practices and games and asking kids to skate multiple times per day. It is recommend that the scheduling of skills sessions take this into consideration for next year with the hope of improving attendance during weeknight sessions. If we could provide our goalies with the opportunity to be trained by a goalie coach at least once every week we will achieve great progress. Scheduling: Master Scheduler (Chris Kennedy) House Scheduler (Sally Morris) All scheduling for Tier IV finished up in March. The pre- season meeting last summer to lay out an ice plan was helpful. It generally allowed more consistent ice time for PWs and BTs but that area can always be improved. The change in the way we set up the play- ins this year was helpful (each organization, CB, Huskies and Biddeford hosting one division) though we still have some ambivalence around our teams wanting to participate. My task now is to look forward. I circulated the operation calendar via Slack and invited everyone to join. I think most have joined though I have not received any feedback on the calendar. Please let me know if the Slack app is not working. Of course, it may be that we need more information about who is holding which positions next year to get full feedback. In any event after tonight I will be following up so I can get our calendar finalized and start setting up next year s ice. My plan is to have it set when we vote the budget since the same information is required for both. Travel Scheduler (Eric Turgeon) A total of 24 hours of ice was booked for travel tryouts 8 per division. Due to registration numbers, a total of 6 hours were given back. Still more hours used this year than last, which allowed for fewer kids on the ice at a time and easier evaluation. Other schedule adjustments were made last minute to accommodate critical personnel schedules. CBA helped afford the opportunity to be flexible and accommodate last minute changes, use more ice time, and to book even more ice and therefore be prepared had we been surprised with larger registration numbers. Practice ice was scheduled for Valley League teams and for squirt tier II team in preparation for regional tournament. No additional travel ice scheduling anticipated for teams.

Looking ahead: Planning to work this spring/summer to schedule (early) the following for travel teams:! Tournaments! Exhibition games against out- of- state teams The goals of the above actions are to:! Take this burden off the coaches! Provide appropriate competition level tournaments for all CB travel teams! Get these on the calendar early to make fall scheduling of MeAHA games easier, and also to allow families to plan well in advance! Augment the game MeAHA schedule with exhibition games against out- of- state teams! Provide out- of- state exposure and stretch teams with elevated competition Division reports: Midgets Travel (Fran Norris) CBHA had two teams in the U16 T2 division and one team in the U18 T2 division for this season. The teams were competitive and had successful seasons. We were challenged a bit with practice ice times and days of the week because of the offline Family Ice Arena. The open boundaries continues to challenge our talent pool as players jockey for teams and try out for multiple organizations. We have also seen an increase of high school affiliation lead players to other organizations. For example, Cheverus HS hockey players banding together and playing for the Wild. Ben Gray (MeAHA travel director) determined that we should break the age divisions for the upcoming 2016/17 season into Tier 2 and Tier 3 to maintain a better competitive balance. So, instead of teams in Tier 2, we will have a more balanced 5 and 6 team division in Tier 2 and 3. Headed into next season, we are currently planning for a Tier 2 and 3 U16 and a Tier 2 U18. Although that could change if more associations determine that they can field a Tier 3 U18 team. We have about 12 players at U18 level that could compete in the Tier 3 division of U18 if MeAHA moves forward with one. I expect our teams to go back to a more traditional TUES and THU practice day of week and later times. This change should allow for better practice attendance and fewer conflicts with fall sports. Midget House (Tom Clifford) This year the midget house program was limited to 4 teams, because FIC was under repairs, so ice was limited. We added 1 team from Biddeford and a Huskies team to form a 6 team league that went very smooth, and are in the process of doing the same for the coming season. Boys Travel (Shawn D.) A fantastic year for Travel at Casco Bay just wrapped up, with 6 out of 7 travel teams advancing to the league play offs. A shout out to the Squirt Tier II team that won the State and New England championships! brought some great changes to the Travel program with additional ice time being dedicated to skills and more teams enjoying full ice practices for two weeks a month. A note of great appreciation to all the coaches and TA s that help keep everything on track all season for the players and parents. Thank you! The Travel try out process was just completed in March. A group of current Travel coaches, former players, John and Fran, met twice to revamp the selection process to give the coaches more input into the selection process and allow the players to compete in the best activities to showcase their talents. Each of levels of competition had outside evaluators with no connection to Casco Bay, current coaches and the Director. There was three hours of icetime devoted to each level, with scrimmage making up two of the three hours. While there is always some difficult decisions with team selection, the feedback from coaches and players has been positive. A special note of thanks to all those that helped on the ice and with the evaluations this year. Girls Travel (Scott M)

Casco Bay Girls had a very good season. We had 115 girls across our 7 teams, ranging from U12 B to U19. Try Hockey for free / season Kick off event in October. New addition this year was the U19 B team which was a need based on the numbers at evaluations. We plan to continue U19 B for but more in a practice / pre- HS clinic fashion. Highs lights for the season. o U12 B winning the MHD march Challenge o U12 A winning New England Sectionals o U14 A winning New England Regionals and advancing to Nationals Semi Finals. o Excellent coaching at all levels, all the coaches did a tremendous job. o Fantastic sportsmanship and displaying shear love for the game by all the players from the U19 to U12 B. All teams for have been posted and rosters filled or being filled. Looking to possibly add a second U14 T2 team for Teams were posted yesterday for U14, waiting to see about the fall out of players accepting spots or not. Expectation for girls numbers to be around 130 for next season. Would like to see continued growth and opportunity for the girls with in CB and MeAHA. Scheduling will continue to remain an issue for the CB Girls teams with lack of local girls teams to play at all out division. Will continue to be creative with scheduling coed games, joining out of state leagues and bringing teams in from other states etc. Bantam PeeWee (Melissa Riley) We had 4 teams with Bantams of which 3 went to States and one competed in the finals Bantam finished the year strong, sending two (of three) teams to states. Very positive feedback from parents, including the Midcoast families that joined Casco Bay. Some feedback requesting later start times for bantam pond hockey next year. I have two head coach commitments for next year. With PeeWees we had 4 teams could have had 5 but we had a goalie shortage. Peewees were a mixed bag. Overall, the season went well, however, the lack of house goalies added to some imbalance between the teams. Had some very positive feedback from a few families, some suggestions for improvements for next year. Sally and I will meet prior to next season to figure out how to minimize scheduling issues for next year. Part of this will involve a plan for ensuring peewee teams commit to games outside their desired geographic radius. Squirt (Scott Rousseau) A very successful season for all 6 extremely well balanced teams. We made some changes to our evaluation and team selection process that were extremely successful but the biggest reason for our success was the cooperation from all of our coaches. All 22 coaches bought in fully to a one team concept that allowed all of our teams to have successful practices and very competitive, even games with strict guidance to how players should be utilized to maintain fair and balanced play. We started a more cooperative relationship with Huskies and Biddeford this year that we had hoped to build on for next year but that is up in the air pending BYHA s status as the revamped Wild program. 18 of our coaches just met for a season ending review of all elements of our season and we have a very strong base from with to work from and make improvements to our scheduling and programing for next season. I plan on remaining the Squirt Director, Asst Equipment Mgr working with Tom Clifford or his replacement, and anything else the organization needs. Mites (Matt Goodrich) We had 8 mite teams this year and some really great coaches that will be returning next year. We had 3 to 4 hours of ice every week with every practice having at least 30 minutes of full ice and station power skating. Kids showed huge

progression throughout the year and we have 8 kids that made a travel squirt team next year and 2 making the Tier 2 team. We have an even stronger 08 group coming back next year. Kids attended the Auburn, Bangor and Rockland tournaments this year and all teams were competitive against the other programs. The Casco Mite tournament had 10 teams participate and we used different format this year. Saturday consisted of round robin play and Sunday had a brackett design that lead to a championship. The feedback was very positive and we plan to do it again next year with more teams being invited. Mite EP- 42 of our 44 eligible kids participated. We had 3 full teams. We maxed out the MEHA allowed practice and game hours. Would consider doing an A team and 2 B teams next year. A team would travel a little more and attend tournament. B teams would play more comparable teams from other programs and play each other. Requests for next year: o spread out the ice times. Parents complained about Sunday Skills after already having practice and games on Sat and Sun. o schedule Eval, Tournament and EP ice early as possible Casco Bay Academy (Heather Geoghan) We finished out with a great year at the "Academy." We had 101 total skaters by the end for Learn to Play, and 66 BTI skaters between the 2 sessions. We had a FABULOUS group of coaches and Jason Sulham ran the BTI program as the head coach and did a great job with it. We added players right up until about the last 2 weeks of the season, and I received lots of positive and happy feedback from parents. My plan for next year is to stay on as the CBHA director, though my daughter may or may not be at BTI, and my son will play Mites. I'll be looking for a "head coach" to take over both the LTP and BTI divisions as I won't be planning on attending each session as a parent/ coach next year, but will do my best to be visible to parents and in close contact with the coaching staff.
