Rob O Gara was traded to the New York Rangers along with a 3rd round pick by Boston in exchange for Nick Holden Szwarz was sent back to Providence Feb 19. from emergency recall to Boston. Czarnik is back with Providence after he was recalled Feb 5. His 7-game point streak is the longest by a P-Bruin this season. Hennessy & Acolatse, who were on PTOs, signed SPCs with Providence Feb. 15 McIntyre has allowed two or fewer goals in 8 of his last 12 appearances. McIntyre won AHL Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 21. He recorded back-to-back shutouts for the first time in his career, stopping all 55 shots faced. Czarnik is 6th in the AHL in scoring. Szwarz is 6th in the AHL in rating. Zboril is 3rd among rookie defensemen in rating. Binnington is 4th in GAA. 4 Draft class of 2015 Much of Providence s roster was acquired via the 2015 NHL Draft: Zboril (1), Senyshyn (1), Forsbacka Karlsson (2), Lauzon (2), Vladar (3) & Gabrielle (5). Other notables from that class are Jake DeBrusk (1) & Brandon Carlo (2) who are in Boston. 34 Jay Leach, Head Coach Jay Leach was named the 12th head coach of the Providence Bruins on July 31, 2017 after serving as an assistant coach for the team during the season. He takes over for his former boss Kevin Dean, who was promoted to an assistant coaching role with the Boston Bruins early during the 2017 offseason. The former captain of the Providence Bruins and Providence College Friars enters his first season as an AHL head coach. Rangers, compiling 11 goals and 18 assists for 29 points with 104 penalty minutes. He also made 18 NHL playoff game appearances, including four with the Bruins.
