UNCW is the tournament s No. 1 seed and will face No. 5 seed Northeastern in the first semifinal at 5 p.m. on Friday. The Tribe-Patriot tilt will take place at the conclusion of first semifinal at approximately 7:30 p.m. W&M is making its 18th CAA Tournament appearance and will be in search of its seventh CAA. The College is the No. 2 seed for just the second time and owns a all-time record at the event. The CAA match will be on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 1 p.m. Admission for each of day of the championship will be $5 for adults with children 12-under free. Students from participating institutions will be admitted free with a valid college identification card. ON THE WINNING TRACK With its 3-0 win over Drexel on Senior Night, the Tribe improved to on the season and in CAA play. The 10-win season marked the College s first since the 2002 campaign, which was also the last time the Tribe advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The six CAA victories also give the Tribe back-to-back league ledgers of It marks the first time since the 1995 and 1996 campaigns that the College has won six or more conference games in back-to-back seasons. The Tribe s No. 2 seed in the CAA Tournament is also its best since getting the second spot in 2002 as well. LEADING THE WAY WITH FIVE ALL-CAA PLAYERS W&M topped the CAA and tied a school record with five players named to the three all-league teams. Sophomore midfielder Nat Baako topped the list as a First-Team All-CAA selection, while junior forward Andrew Hoxie garnered second team accolades. Senior Doug McBride and juniors Price Thomas and Roger Bothe were named to the All-CAA third team. It marks the sixth time the Tribe has had five All-CAA selections as it also pulled the trick in 1990, 1991, 1993, 1994 and SCOUTING GEORGE MASON The Tribe will face arguably the hottest team in the CAA to open the league tournament in George Mason. The Patriots are riding a five-match winning streak into the conference semifinals, following a dominating 5-0 quarterfinal win over No. 6 seed Hofstra. Mason earned the No. 3 seed in the tournament by defeating Old Dominion, 3-1, to close out the regular season. Also over its winning streak, the Patriots own victories over Drexel (2-0), Georgia State (2-0) and CAA regular season champion UNCW (1-0). Mason is overall on the year and finished in CAA play. The Patriots are ranked right behind the Tribe at No. 5 in the South Atlantic Region poll and are also No. 60 in the latest NCAA RPI. Senior Kwame Adjeman-Pamboe leads the Patriot attack with 18 points on six goals, including two game-winners, and six assists. He has been on a tear as of late, winning CAA Player of the Week honors each of the last two weeks. During Mason s five-match winning streak, Adjeman-Pamboe has tallied 14 points on five goals and four assists. Irvin Martinez is second on the team in points with 11 on three goals, all gamewinners, and five assists. Ryan Garcia (5g,0a) and Lucas Pardew (4g,2a) each have 10 points on the year. Sean Kelley has started 17 matches in goal for the Patriots and owns the second-best GAA in the CAA at He also has 65 saves and eight shutouts. W&M is all-time against the Patriots, including a 4-0 ledger in CAA Tournament play. The Tribe won the regular season affair at Mason, 1-0, in overtime. Junior forward Price Thomas scored the game-winner on a breakaway off a pass from fellow striker Andrew Hoxie just 29 seconds into overtime. Prior to the 2008 meeting, the teams had played to a pair of 0-0 draws in the previous two battles.

W&M trails only ACC programs Maryland, Virginia and Boston College in the rankings. Currently, W&M is either ranked No. 1 or No. 2 in every offensive category. W&M leads the league in assists per game (1.67) and goals per game (1.67), while ranking second in points (89), goals (30) and assists (30). The Green and Gold is the only team in the league with three players among the top 10 in points. Junior Andrew Hoxie leads the group in sixth with 16 points followed by sophomore Nat Baako and Alan Koger, who each have 15 points. W&M also has a pair of players in the top 10 in goals and the top five in assists. Koger is second in the league with seven goals, while Hoxie is sixth with six. Junior forward Price Thomas leads the CAA with six assists on the season, while Baako is fourth with five. FIRST CAREER GAME-WINNERS A quintet of Tribe players scored their first career game-winning goals in 2008, accounting for half of the College s wins this season. Both Tribe seniors Nathan Belcher and Doug McBride tallied the first clinchers of their careers, while junior Roger Bothe and sophomores Michael DiNuzzo and Nick Orozco also accomplished the feat this season. Orozco opened the season with his first career goal, scoring the gamewinner on a volley off a rebound with under three minutes remaining to knock off UNC Greensboro. Belcher was next scoring the game-winning goal in the Tribe s 2-1 overtime win at Elon. DiNuzzo, like Orozco, had his first career goal count for the game-winner on a toe poke from in close in the College s 2-0 win at Old Dominion. In each of the Tribe s last two home wins, McBride and Bothe accounted for the game-winners. McBride found the back of the net on a breakaway against Georgia State off a counter, while Bothe found the far side netting from 12 yards out with just four second left in the half to propel the Tribe to a 3-0 win over Drexel to close out the regular season. ROAD WARRIORS The Tribe has put up a remarkable ledger away from Williamsburg this season, going on the road and at neutral sites. Included in that mark is a tie with No. 6-ranked Loyola (Md.), 0-0, in September. The tie is the lone blemish on Loyola s regular season mark and also snapped a 13-match home winning streak by the Greyhounds. BATTLING THE BEST Including CAA regular season champ UNCW, the Tribe faced five regular season conference champions during the 2008 season. W&M was against the group with its lone setback coming to UNC Wilmington. The Tribe also faced Atlantic Sun champion Campbell, Atlantic 10 winner UMass, MAAC champion Loyola (Md.) and Southern Conference regular season titlist Elon. W&M defeated Campbell, 3-2, in double overtime and

4 Elon, 2-1, on the road. W&M played to a 2-2 draw with UMass at the ODU/Stihl Soccer Classic. The College also tied Loyola (Md.), who is ranked No. 6 nationally, 0-0, on the road to provide the Greyhounds with the lone blemish on their regular season mark. NCAA RPI The Tribe is rated No. 30 in the latest NCAA RPI released on Nov. 10. Like it was in the previous two NCAA released RPIs, the College is the highest rated CAA team. DISHING IT OUT The Tribe leads the CAA in assists per game and for good reason. W&M has six players with three or more assists on the season, including the CAA assist leader in junior forward Price Thomas. The six players with three or more assists are the most for the College since it had seven in In total, 10 different Tribe players have tallied an assist on the season. Behind Thomas, sophomore Nat Baako has five assists on the year, followed by junior forward Andrew Hoxie with four. Senior Doug McBride and juniors Roger Bothe and Jeremy Haris each have three helpers on the year for the Green and Gold. BAAKO TURNING INTO AN OFFENSIVE FORCE Sophomore Nat Baako has long been a key fixture in the Tribe offense, starting every match for W&M since stepping on the Williamsburg campus from Accra, Ghana in During his sophomore season, the heady sparkplug has been an offensive force for the Green and Gold. Baako currently ranks among the CAA leads in points (15) and assists (5). He is second on the Tribe in points and assists, while also ranking third in goals with five. The 5-5 dynamo enjoyed a breakout start to the 2008 season at the ODU Stihl Soccer Classic, earning MVP honors after finishing with three goals and an assist. Baako was also named CAA co-player of the Week following his performance at the event. He scored his first collegiate goal in the win over UCF and then exploded for both W&M tallies in the program s 2-2 tie with 2007 NCAA College Cup Semifinalist UMass. In the Tribe s comeback 3-2 double overtime win over Campbell ealier this season, Baako assisted on each of the Tribe s final two goals, including the game-winner two minutes into the second extra session. HOXIE A VALUED COMMODITY Junior Andrew Hoxie has been a valuable asset to the Tribe in 2008 and the numbers back it up. Despite playing in only 12 of the Tribe s 18 matches and only making six starts due to various injuries, Hoxie leads the Tribe and ranks among the CAA leaders with 16 points on six goals and four assists. He has also tallied a pair of game-winning goals and two more game-winning assists. With Hoxie in the lineup, the College is on the season and only without the 6-4 striker. THE PRICE IS RIGHT After enjoying a breakout sophomore season in 2007, junior forward Price Thomas has been a marked man. Last season, he earned First-Team All-CAA honors, while leading the Tribe with 16 points on six goals and four assists. Thomas followed that up with another solid performance this season for the Green and Gold. He has 14 points on four goals and a CAA-leading six assists. The Charlottesville, Va., native was recently named CAA Player of the Week after factoring in on all three Tribe goals against Drexel. He tallied a goal and two assists in the win. Earlier this season, Thomas scored the game-winner just 29 seconds into overtime as the College notched a 1-0 win at George Mason. HATS OFF Sophomore forward Alan Koger did something that had never been accomplished by a men s player in the five-year history of Albert-Daly Field earlier this season. He scored a hat trick in leading the Tribe to a 3-1 win over Delaware on Oct. 18. He was named CAA and ECAC Player of the Week for his efforts. Koger tallied the 14th fastest three-consecutive goal hat trick in NCAA history during the Tribe s victory over the Fighting Blue Hens. He scored the three goals over a 15:32 stretch. The hat trick was also the first for a Tribe player since Brannon Thomas tallied a three-goal game against High Point on Sept. 18, Koger leads the Tribe and ranks second in the CAA with seven goals, while also ranking among the league s best in points (15). DEFENSE STEPPING UP After allowing four goals in a loss to UNC Wilmington on Oct 28 and falling outside the CAA Tournament chase, the Tribe defense has really stepped up its game in propelling W&M to the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the league tourney. Over the College s last four games, W&M is thanks in large part to the efforts of defense. The second-year Tribe backstop also ranks sixth in career saves (167) and fifth in career save percentage (.807) and career goals against average (1.03). BAAKO NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT Sophomore midfielder Nathaniel Baako was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). It marks the eighth time in the last six years that a Tribe men s soccer player has been named to the academic all-district team by CoSIDA. Baako was one of five CAA players named to the academic all-district teams this season. DOWN BUT NOT OUT The Green and Gold has proven in 2008 that it is never out of game no matter how much time is remaining. During the 2008 campaign, the College has fallen behind by a goal and rallied to earn results on three occasions. On two occasions, W&M trailed with less than 10 minutes remaining before coming back. In W&M season opener, the Tribe rallied from a 1-0 deficit to pull out a come-from-behind 2-1 win over UNC Greensboro. After an Andrew Hoxie penalty kick tied the game at one, sophomore Nick Orozco scored on a volley with less than three minutes remaining in the contest to help the Tribe pull out the victory. At the ODU Stihl Soccer Classic, UMass took a 2-1 lead in the 84th minute, but W&M tied the game less than three minutes later as sophomore Nat Baako found the back of the net. The game ended in a 2-2 tie. On Sept. 23, Campbell scored on a breakaway with six minutes remaining to take a 2-1 lead, but W&M did not quit as senior Nathan Belcher scored the equalizer in the 88th minute. Junior striker Price Thomas added the game-winner two minutes into the second overtime period. During head coach Chris Norris tenure, W&M has six comeback victories. IMPRESSIVE START W&M jumped out to its best start since the 1994, going unbeaten through its first six matches at The Tribe started the 1994 campaign on a school-record 12-match winning streak. The six-game unbeaten streak to start the season marks the sixth time in school history a W&M team has accomplished the feat. W&M also opened the 1970 (11 games), 1985 (10), 1987 (6) and 1991 (6) seasons with unbeaten streaks of six or more matches. ODU/STIHL SOCCER CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIP For the second time in the last three seasons and the fifth time overall, the College won the ODU/Stihl Soccer Classic as a result of its record at the event. The Tribe opened with a 3-1 win over Central Florida on Sept. 12, before forging a 2-2 tie with 2007 NCAA College Cup Semifinalist UMass on Sept. 14. The College improved to (.648) all-time at the Stihl Soccer Classic, having competed in the event on 22 occasions.
