2 WORK DAYS Due to Old Man Winter refusing to give up, we had to cancel our March 24 work day. However, what a crew we got for March 31! The following cowgirls and cowboys show up to get the range in shape for the April match. Zoe, Goldilocks, Annie Dote, Mama J Bear, Edna Mae, Bell Aire, Butch McCandles, Benevenue Kid, Doc Zahn, Creekside Kid, Buckle Bob, Slim Chance Pistolero, Letort Lawman, Farmer Brown, Lee, Doc Allan Wood, Big G, Frontier Bob, Mac Moshannon, Cardiac Cowboy and Tuscarora Slim. Three Scouts from Troop 73 also helped with the preparations. Thanks to their hard work, we were cleaned up, set up and ready to shoot by 11:30. A huge thanks to everyone!!!! APRIL MATCH We had only had 21 shooters at our April match, due to the cold, windy weather. Here are the results. Buckaroo Creekside Kid Lady Silver Senior Annie Dote Lady Wrangler Mama J. Chesty Senior Big G Silver Senior Blue Mountain Bandit Gunfighter Doc Allan Wood Elder Statesman Dirt Rider Cowboy Dusty Dylan Cattle Baron Tucker Senior Duelist Frontier Bob Frontiersman Sgt. Hochbauer Forty-Niner Mac Moshannon Tucker and Mac Moshannon cleaned the match despite of the cold. This was Mac s first match at Regulator Ridge! MAY MATCH There will be a meeting after the May match to discuss Smoke on the Ridge. SASS has some new requirements that need ironed out. Remember this month you may use your long range rifle if you want to. MAY SET-UP Set up for the May match will be May 4 at 8:00 AM SHOOTS April 7- PP May 5 - LR June 2 (Empty Saddles Charity Shoot) - PP July 7 - LR August 4 - PP August 31, September 1 and 2 (Cow Camp) Set up August 30 October 6 - LR November 3 - PP Registration 9:00 AM Shooters Meeting 9:45 AM PP Pocket Pistol One stage allows you to use your pocket pistol or the club supplied pistol LR One stage will allow the option to use your long range rifle or your match rifle. IT WAS COLD! If you weren't at the April match you missed a good one. Well, a cold one anyway. I have never been so cold shooting before. My hands were like ice cubes. It really made it hard to draw and hold a gun. Not to mention trying to holster again after shooting with all the sweaters and coats the cowboys had on. We shot Letort s new setup on Bay 8, the coal car. Needless to say as first shooter I messed it up big time and don't even know what I did wrong. Of course it would help if I had known how it was supposed to be shot. I think I have finally figured it out and I know he won't ever shoot it that way again. Where the heck is spring anyway? I know what is going to happen. We are going to go right from winter into summer. I have my ice packs all ready so I am as prepared as I can be. Hope to see you all at the May 5th (Cinco de Mayo) shoot. Maybe it will all be written around The Cisco Kid and Poncho. Annie Dote
