2 Welcome Aaron, Danielle and Kennadee Kravig We would like to welcome you to our 5th annual production sale. We greatly appreciate your interest in our program and the continued support of our past customers. Kravig Red Angus is a family operation that has been raising Red Angus cattle in Eastern Colorado for over 30 years. The day-to-day operations of our ranch are handled by myself, my wife, Danielle, my father, Dennis, and my mother, Lisa. With several of us holding jobs off of the ranch it makes our calving and breeding season very busy. For that reason it is very important to us to place a lot of emphasis on calving ease and good dispositions in order for everything to run smoothly. The heart of our operation revolves around the mother cow. She must possess a sound udder, a quiet disposition, be moderate framed, easy fl eshing and have excellent structure with an emphasis on her feet and legs. Our cows are not pampered and must be able to work for a living with only minimal supplemental feeding. These traits are passed on from generation to generation creating an ideal cow who will stay on the land and generate a profi t year after year. 3 Cattlemen and Women, Welcome The cattle markets in 2014 were one fast and wild ride and I am sure it will be one that we will not soon forget! Cattlemen and women all over our great nation reaped the benefi ts of record high markets and are finally able to breathe a little easier. Now, as good as 2014 was, I do not think we will see another year like that again, however I do believe we are going to see a consistent trend that will ensure profi table cattle for several years. Here at the ranch we saw another good year of moisture allowing us to grow a bountiful amount of grass and even raise a little feed. I still won t say we are out of the drought but at least the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter (or in this case greener!). This year the bulls were weaned mid-october were started on feed shortly after. The bulls were fed a seed stock pellet and over a period of 3 weeks were worked up to roughly 9 lbs per head per day to achieve a gain of around 2.75/lbs day. Along with free choice hay, the bulls have access to 120 acres of grass allowing them to get out and stretch their legs daily. We believe that by developing our bulls in this manner they will remain sound, they will not be over conditioned, and they will be ready to go out and start working for you. All of the cattle in the sale offering have been culled for dispositions, feet, legs, udder structures, and are backed by years of proven performance. Just as last year all sale animals will be videotaped and will be able to be viewed on our website (kravigredangus.com) prior to the sale. Sale Day Phones TERMS AND CONDITIONS All cattle start out at the listed base price. If two parties are interested in the same lot you are allowed to bid in the form of a silent auction. The silent auction closes at 1 pm. The highest bidder on the board gets the lot. CATTLE VIEWING Viewing starts at 11 a.m. Bidding closes at 1 p.m. The private treaty sale will begin immediately following the close of the silent auction. FEEDING All cattle will be kept free of charge until May 9th. All cattle kept past May 9th will have a $75 feed and delivery charge. DELIVERY Free delivery to central points within 120 miles. Delivery beyond 120 miles can be arranged for a fee. BREEDING GUARANTEE All bulls will pass a breeding soundness exam prior to leaving our ranch. CATTLE CARE When the cattle are sold, the buyer may leave the cattle at the ranch until delivery at the buyer s risk. We will take care of the cattle to the best of our ability, but the cattle are the buyer s responsibility. LUNCH: A complimentary lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on sale day. Category II Animals with equal to or greater than 87% up to including 100% Red Angus blood content having one or more disqualifying features. In this offering it is white front navels, black hides, or scurs. Category III Animals that are 50-87% Red Angus. In this offering all animals being sold are purebred Red Angus cattle, however some sale lots only have a registered pedigree on the top side.
