I (we) agree to assume all responsibility for any claim, loss or damage, of whatever kind or nature, whether to person or property, which may be caused at or near this event, either directly or indirectly, by me (us) or the dog(s) I (we) have entered in or brought to this event. I (we) further agree that I (we) will hold the officers, directors, agents and members of SWHDA and the judges and Allen and Arlette Seib, Dog Tale Ranch, and their employees/help working this event, harmless and defend them from any and all liability for any injury, claim, damage or loss, of whatever kind or nature, whether to person or property, caused at or near this event. I (we) acknowledge that while the hosts of the event may provide guidelines and rules for this event Allen and Arlette Seib, Dog Tale Ranch and associated persons do not have and do not exercise control over the conduct of those present. I (we) certify and represent that the dog(s) I (we) have entered in or brought to this event is/are not a hazard to other dogs, other animals, or to people. I (we) will pay for any livestock injuries or replacement value in the event of death of any livestock by my (our) dogs. In case of any injury to any stock caused by the dog(s) entered or said dog(s) actions thereof, I (we) will assume total responsibility for any damage. I (we) agree to pay the full market value, as set for the livestock and noted here and/or in this event premium, of the injured animal in case of serious injury, or the veterinarian bill or its equivalent if the injury is slight. Livestock replacement market value is $285 CDN dollars per head. Exception: dogs handling stock for trial. Non-Member Participation Fee Non-member Participation fee A) An annual non-member participation fee for awards and titles will be charged to a Canadian non-member of CKC. The fee will match the ERN fee. In order to protect the awards/titles earned, the non-member will have a choice either to become a CKC member or to pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply with in 30 days of notification will cause all awards and titles to be cancelled. Attention Foreign Exhibitors ERN numbers must be applied for within 30 days of the first day of entering a CKC event. A CKC ERN registration form can be downloaded from the CKC website: The request can then be forwarded to the Canadian Kennel Club, Ste Ronson Drive, Etobicoke, ON M9W 5Z9 or faxed to: CKC Policy & Procedures Manual Chapter 6 - Shows & Trials states: T. Day of Entry Performance Events [Board Motion # ] 1. At its option a club may choose to allow day of trial or test entries. When a club chooses this option it must be so stated in the Premium List. Section 18.1 of the CKC Herding Rules states: The CKC shall not be responsible to any member, person, partnership, club or corporation for any loss, damage or injury arising at or by reason of any herding trial held under any rules adopted by the CKC. Section 15.7 of the CKC Herding Rules states: It shall be the duty and obligation of the trial-giving club to see that a judge, club official, ring steward volunteer or competitor at a Herding Trial held under these regulations, is not subject to indignities of any kind. The Herding Trial Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred. A copy of this regulation shall be prominently placed in every premium list and catalogue. Please note that the CKC Herding Rules changed in Please review the changes prior to trialing 2012 Rule Books are available through the CKC Office LAST BUT NOT LEAST: COURTESY RULES Poop & Scoop courtesy rules apply. Lots of dogs and people frequent Dog Tale Ranch; we need to leave it as we find it. If you are in the yard, on the way to the trial area, around the arenas or in the arenas, please pick up after your dogs. If you are in a field or wildlife area, use your judgment but if in doubt... pick it up. There will be garbage pails around and pick-up bags for those who have forgotten them. Leashes. Dogs must be on leash when in the trialing or yard areas and in proximity of stock or guardian dogs. This is a working ranch and the jobs of the hands must be respected. CAMPING & ACCOMMODATIONS BY DOG TALE RANCH Trial location is Dog Tale Ranch Limited camping in the yard no hook ups. There will be a portable toilet and hand wash area in the yard. There is a full campground facility at Manitou Beach, 35 km from the site. There are Bed & Breakfast and hotel accommodations at Manitou Beach. Check out

4 DIRECTIONS TO TRIAL LOCATION From Saskatoon To Dog Tale Ranch Take Highway 11 South and travel to Hanley. About 1 km South of Hanley turn East (left) onto gravel (grid) road 764. Travel east on this grid for 35 km. Turn North (left) and travel 3.2 km. Turn East (right) and travel 1.6 km. Turn South (right) and travel 1.6 km into yard. The yard is located around a bend and tucked into trees so is not visible until you arrive. This route involves 40 km of gravel road travel. Alternate Route from Saskatoon to Dog Tale Ranch Take highway 16 East to the junction of highway 2. Turn South (right) onto highway 2 and travel to Young. At Young, just past the grain elevator, turn West and cross the railroad tracks (your turn is the one with the railroad crossing arms). Follow the curves of this grid road (going west, curving south and then curving west again); travel 8 km (5 miles) from the tracks. Turn South (left) and travel 9.6 km (6 miles). Watch for a white church that will be on the driver s side of the road. At the white church, turn West (right) and travel 3.2 km (2 miles). Turn South and travel 1.6 km (1 mile) to the yard. This route has half the gravel road travel but is 10 km longer than first route. From the South via Highway 2 South To Dog Tale Ranch Travel North on highway 2 up to Highway 15. Turn West (left) on highway 15. Travel 32.4 km going through two small valleys. Turn North (right, this turn is at the bottom of the second valley) and travel 12.5 km. Turn East (right) and travel about 1 km to first road going North again. Turn North (left) and travel 3.2 km. Turn East (right) and travel 1.6 km. Turn South (right) and travel 1.6 km into yard. From Watrous To Dog Tale Ranch. Leave Watrous on highway 2 heading North. At the Co-op Agro Centre turn West (left) and cross the railroad tracks. Immediately turn North (right) and follow the curve back to the west again. Travel this grid road for 24 km (15 miles) until you reach a yield sign. At the yield sign, turn South (left) and travel 4.8 km (3 miles). Watch for a white church that will be on the driver s side of the road. At the white church, turn West (right) and travel 3.2 km (2 miles). Turn South and travel 1.6 km (1 mile) to the yard. See map on next page
