2 On May the grade 5-7 students spent time outdoors cleaning up the CCS playground. Way to go Cougars!! Mrs. Homeniuk s Grade 9 ELA classes travelled to Yorkton to share their summative assessments with other students from the GSSD Read Aloud Unit! 2

3 Mr. Knight and Mrs. Bisschop accompanied the CCS grade 8s' on their field trip to the RCMP Depot and the Legislative Building in Regina. Highlights included getting ice cream from our MLA Terry Dennis as well as a private tour of the Premier's office. TEEN BOOST For Teens ages Sessions are held every Second Wednesday from 10:00am to 12:00pm located in Yorkton at the Sunrise Health and Wellness There are 4 separate sessions where participants will learn about self esteem, body image, bullying/cyber bullying, stress management anxiety and depression, mental wellness and coping skills. 9 ****IMPORTANT**** Grade 5-12 Report Cards will be handed out on June 27th. Any Report Cards not picked up by the 29th at 12:00pm WILL NOT be mailed out but will be kept in the office until the fall. 9

10 I d like to say Good Luck on your final exams, but I know luck has nothing to do with it. How you perform on your finals will be related to the work you and your teachers put in all year so I will just say that I wish you a good final exam season! Remember to get sleep, eat protein for breakfast, make a study plan, don t cram, and above all just do your best. We are very proud of our graduates! It s with mixed emotions that we congratulate you though, as I can t imagine those senior hallways without your familiar faces. Grad is always a bitter-sweet occasion, as teachers of course get pretty attached to students over the years, and you become part of our community and you are always the very best part of our job! So Grads, congratulations, and please know that though we wish you the very best, you will also be missed. We are looking forward to meeting our next years grade fives! That is going to be an exciting evening for them, and for us! We can t wait to welcome you to the Cougar Zone!!!! You are cubs no longer! Congratulations to all students who will be acknowledged at Awards Night! We are very proud of the strong academic programs at CCS, and Awards Night is a time to celebrate student excellence. I commend you all. To the teaching staff team at CCS, thank you all for your dedication to students! This is a hectic time of year, but thanks to many long hours of planning and organizing, things like final exams, Grad preparations, Awards Night, Grade five orientation, and the many other events and tasks that end the year come and go with few hitches thanks to our teachers and support staff.
