ASA asked our Provincial Members to submit their T&F Competitions for the 2 nd half of 2017 to ASA to enable ASA to notify all Members of such Competition Opportunities, as ASA will be starting its preparation for the 2018 Commonwealth Games immediately after the 2017 IAAF World Senior Championships, with the announcement of the 2018 Commonwealth Games Squad. The final Commonwealth Team will be selected by SASCOC in January 2018, and performances up to December 2017 will be taken into consideration for selection by SASCOC for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. ASA would like to thank the provinces who did respond positively on ASA Circular 79. However, several provinces have still not responded. Your response will be appreciated as the athletes are in need of competition opportunities. ASA would like to provide ASA Provinces with an update of the 2017 ASA Fixtures before the 31 August Further to the above call, ASA are asking Provinces to submit their 2018 Fixtures (CC, RR & T&F) to ASA for attention Mehlo at MehloH@athleticssa.co.za or Durell JeJane at DurellJ@athleticssa.co.za As mentioned above, the Commonwealth Games team will be announced in January 2018, and athletes will be in need to participate in competitions during the January March 2018, as SASCOC will be monitoring the fitness of team during this period.
