The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of ailing The prescriptions and special regulations of Australia ailing (A). Part 1 Category 5 of Australia ailing will apply.. 2. NOTICE TO COMPETITOR Notices to competitors will be posted on the official notice board(s) located outside the RQY ailing Office 2.1. RACE AANDONMENT Any decision to race, postpone or abandon racing will be made by the Race Committee A decision to race on any given day does not relieve a competitor of his/her obligation under RR Fundamental Rule The decision to race, postpone, or abandon will not be made prior to two hours before the scheduled start time on the day of the race unless circumstances dictate that an earlier decision would be appropriate, noting: Racing will not be started if there is a current gale warning or higher or other severe weather warning that will impact on the race area Racing may be started if there is a trong Wind Warning in the racing area Races will only be abandoned after careful consideration of all weather conditions and their likely impact on the course area. 3. CHANGE TO AILING INTRUCTION Any change to the sailing instructions will be posted before 0800 on the day it will take effect, except that any change to the schedule of races will be posted by 1700 on the day before it will take effect. 4. IGNAL MADE AHORE 4.1. ignals made ashore will be displayed on the official flag pole located adjacent to the RQY clubhouse When flag AP is displayed ashore, 1 minute is replaced with not less than 45 minutes in the race signal AP. 5. To alert boats that a race or sequence of races will begin soon, the orange starting line flag will be displayed with one sound at least five minutes before a warning signal is made No warning signal will be made after 1530 hours. 6 CLA FLAG Class flags will be: Cruising Division Performance Division Code Flag D Code Flag F 7 RACING AREA Attachment A shows the location of racing areas. The tart for Race 1 and Race 2 will be in Waterloo ay 8 THE COURE 8.1 The diagrams in Attachment A show the courses, including the order in which marks are to be passed, and the side on which each mark is to be left. 8.2 No later than 10 minutes prior to the warning signal, the race committee signal boat will display the course to be sailed with the appropriate Numeral Pennant 9 MARK 9.1 Navigation marks will be marks of the course 9.2 Laid Windward Mark, the race committee may lay a mark approximately 0.5 nm to windward of the start line. The committee vessel will display a green flag (starboard) or a red flag (port) to signal the side on which yachts shall leave the laid mark on the first leg of the course. The laid mark will be a purple inflatable buoy 9.3 The starting and finishing marks will be orange teardrop buoys 10 AREA THAT ARE OTRUCTION 11 THE TART 11.1 Races will be started by using rule 26 with the warning signal made five minutes before the starting signal The starting line will be between a staff displaying an orange flag on the start vessel at the starboard end and the port-end starting mark oats whose warning signal has not been made shall avoid the starting area during the starting sequence for other races A boat starting later than fifteen (15) minutes after her starting signal may be scored Did Not tart. This changes rule A If any part of a boat s hull, crew or equipment is on the course side of the starting line during the two minutes before her starting signal and she is identified, the race committee may attempt to broadcast her sail number on VHF channel 72. Failure to make a broadcast or to time it accurately will not be grounds for a request for redress. This changes rule 62.1(a). 12 CHANGE OF THE NEXT LEG OF THE COURE 13 THE FINIH 13.1 The finishing line will be between a staff displaying an orange flag on the finishing boat at the starboard end, and the port end finishing mark If the race committee is absent when a boat finishes, she should report her finishing time, and her position in relation to nearby boats, to the race committee at the first reasonable opportunity C & FYC I V1.2 Page 4

5 2016 pirit Marine Queensland eneteau Cup & French Yacht ailing Instructions 14 PENALTY YTEM Rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty. 15 TIME LIMIT The time limit for both races is 1700hrs 16 PROTET AND REQUET FOR REDRE 16.1 Protest forms are available at the RQY ailing Office. Protests and requests for redress or reopening shall be delivered there within the appropriate time limit For each class, the protest time limit is 90 minutes after the last boat has finished Notices will be posted no later than 30 minutes after the protest time limit to inform competitors of hearings in which they are parties or named as witnesses Notices of protests by the race committee or protest committee will be posted to inform boats under rule 61.1(b) reaches of instructions 11.3, 18, 21, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27 will not be grounds for a protest by a boat. This changes rule 60.1(a). Penalties for these breaches may be less than disqualification if the Protest Committee so decides On the last scheduled day of racing a request for reopening a hearing shall be delivered (a) within the protest time limit if the requesting party was informed of the decision on the previous day; (b) no later than 30 minutes after the requesting party was informed of the decision on that day. This changes rule On the last scheduled day of racing a request for redress based on a Protest Committee decision shall be delivered no later than 30 minutes after the decision was posted. This changes rule CORING 2 races are required to be completed to constitute a series. A boat s series score will be the total of her race scores, no score will be excluded. 18 AFETY REGULATION 18.1 All boats shall IGN ON for the race at least 15 minutes before the warning signal by contacting the Race Committee vessel on VHF Channel 72 advising the name of the boat, sail number, number of persons on board (PO) and receive acknowledgement A boat that retires from a race shall notify the Race Committee as soon as possible 18.3 Unless in use no part of an anchor may project forward of the bow at any time whilst racing. 19 REPLACEMENT OF CREW OR EQUIPMENT 20 EQUIPMENT AND MEAUREMENT CHECK 21 EVENT ADVERTIING 22 OFFICIAL OAT Official boats will be marked with a white flag with the letter RC. 23 TRAH DIPOAL oats shall not dispose of trash in the water 24 HAUL-OUT RETRICTION 16 - C & FYC I V1.2 Page 5
