30MILES Sailing routes There are totally 60 planned safe sailing routes between 30MILES-ports. These routes are aimed to support boaters in route planning.

3 30MILES Sailing routes There are totally 60 planned safe sailing routes between 30MILES-ports. These routes are aimed to support boaters in route planning. However, captain of the boat is always responsible for the safe route planning. All planned sailing routes are described verbally and routes are available as a digital route points in gpxformat. Routes are freely available on internet. Primary way to use routes is to upload the route file to one s own navigation software / device, where it should be examined in relation to the latest nautical map. Routes are planned according to latest information, but they are not constantly updated.

4 Safety audits; Auditing model was constructed. 30MILES ports where auditing is reasonable have been audited to give an overview of current state of port safety and give guidelines for safety improvements in future. 30MILES ports in Finland and Estonia were has been audited during spring/summer During auditing process we examined the physical structures, but whenever possible, also involved port personnel and stakeholders to discuss on how to maintain and improve safety. Auditing process produced auditing report describing current state of port safety and guidelines for safety improvements in future.

5 Approach videos; Approaches from sea to all of the 30MILES ports. The aim of the approach videos is to give general overview of the approach route and point out the most important navigation marks along the route. 6 Safety investments; defibrillators to eight ports; seven installed (Porvoo s device in storage, installation agreed)

7 Port safety training; course consisting of multiple short Youtube videos about port safety, targeted for personnel responsible for port safety, port employees, and boaters interested in port safety. Course production responsible team member: mr.
