5 Company Projects Products DOWN A CAISSON TRENCHLINING It is a system for the containment of ditch excavations that ensures retaining excavation walls up to 4 m in width and 3.5 m in depth, drastically resolving the security problems of construction workers working on canalizations and sewer systems. Quick and inexpensive to assemble, this caisson system is used and extracted from the excavation already assembled and it is suitable for non-continuous ditches with soils of good consistency. Thrust resistance: designed to withstand soil thrusts up to 45 kn/m 2 Continuous thrust: no STRENGTHS STURDY QUICK MODULAR ideal for retaining excavation soil with a depth from 2.30 to 3.5 m, it reaches an excavation width between 1.30 and 1.70 m; widths up to 5 m are obtained with the help of flanged pipe extensions. the weight of the trenchlining, formed by two 3.15x2.3 m panels, is about 2000 kg so it can be handled with standard yard vehicles. the position of the spacers allows laying piping up to 1.20 m in diameter. the panels can be also combined with the DOWN SIMPLE and DOUBLE GUIDING system. The base module consists of modular panels held in place by spacers adjustable by screws that can be hooked up to the panels and allow variable widths of excavation. The panels have a sharp lower edge to facilitate insertion into the soil. The SIMPLEX caisson is a less expensive version in which the screw-downs are replaced by male-female telescopic spacers with fixed 10 adjustment. DOWN A CAISSON HOW IT WORKS The DOWN A CAISSON formwork is laid down already assembled on the bottom of the excavation and it is inserted into the soil by beating alternately on the upper sides of the two panels. The articulated connection of the screw-down works as a hinge and it allows an angle variation of the screw-down of 20 degrees respect to the panels. The other modules are placed in series until the desired excavation length is reached. The lifting and handling are carried out through wire cables hooked to the perforated plates of the panels.
