A BIG Thank You goes out to our two At-Larges, Tom Brubaker and Mark Wieser for their help in coordinating this function and a BIGGER THANK YOU to all of you that contributed many of the wonderful

Snow Trails will provide the ski runs, the snow, and the Alpine Room. We will provide the pizza. You will provide all of the fun. The pizza starts at 6:30 pm and the fun will start when you get there.

If you like to party then you are in the right club. The Annual Christmas Gala was a whole lot of fun, with a whole lot of food and a whole lot of friends. We had 73 of your best friends attending & bidding ;-) And how about the SHHHH...ilent auction? This was our first year of doing this event and it was a huge success. We were able to raise $1496, 10% of which will go to TAASC. A BIG Thank You goes out to our two At-Larges, Tom Brubaker and Mark Wieser for their help in coordinating this function and a BIGGER THANK YOU to all of you that contributed many of the wonderful gift items. There were 41 items donated for the auction. Oh What Fun! The next pppparty for all of you will be at Snow Trails on Friday, January 11th. Snow Trails will provide the ski runs, the snow, and the Alpine Room. We will provide the pizza. You will provide all of the fun. The pizza starts at 6:30 pm and the fun will start when you get there. And yet another ppparty is in the planning. Our February meeting will see us returning to Harbor Hills. At first light, make a Right. At light (front of Wal -Mart), make a Right onto O Possum Run Rd. Follow thru the Left-Right dogleg to find Snow Trails on Right. From Newark: Take OH-13N to Mansfield. At first light after I-71 exit, make a Right (Wendy s will be on your Right). At light (in front of Wal-Mart), make a Right onto O Possum Run Rd. Follow thru the Left turn-right turn dogleg to find Snow Trails on the Right. From Zanesville: Take OH-146W to Dillon Wilderness Area. Make a Right onto OH-586N. In Mt. Vernon, make a Right onto OH-13N. At first light after I-71 exit (Interstate will be visible), make a Right (Wendy s will be on your Right). At light (in front of Wal-Mart), make a Right onto O Possum Run Rd. Follow thru the Left turn-right turn dogleg to find Snow Trails. Thanks to the 41 items donated, we were able to raise almost $1500 to help defray operating cost for the club. That means more money to spend on all the many different things that can cost so much when you are just trying to enjoy yourself with friends. We couldn t have pulled this off without the excellent effort of many of our club members, both on the board and off. 4 Page JANUARY Cross Country Ski Weekend in PA Laurel Highlands, Feb 22-24, 2013 We will be staying at the Ligonier Country Inn, a sweet old B&B very near where we will ski (we are going to start on the beginner trails, so don t worry if you haven t tried this FUN sport yet). The Inn can also rent you Cross Country ski equipment if you want to come out for a weekend away. We have 2 floors of the Inn blocked off for our club, BUT ONLY UNTIL MID-JANUARY, with different room arrangements available (they are pet friendly, too). You will need to call & make your own reservation for the weekend there is a full refund if you cancel at least 7 days prior. Check out the website - ligoniercountryinn.com - or just call them at When you call to reserve your room, tell them you are with the Newark Ski club & choose your room.. The cost is per room, NOT per person, so three could stay in one room. The price is approximately $220/room for the 2 nights with breakfast (of course) included. Transportation is on your own, as are lunches/trail snacks and dinner. Interested in possibly sharing a room to defray your cost? We can get you in contact with other people who want to share. Plus, we are coordinating where we want to eat, who wants to carpool, equipment, etc. Any other questions? Just call or us. NEW Date Changes for the January Meeting For Your information: Due to a great new event (the mid-week Seven springs trip) & the calendar, we ve (again!) changed the date for the January meeting. We are now having our annual Snow Trails meeting on Friday, January 11th and combining it with the January Happy Hour. This way, you can come to the meeting that evening, eat some pizza (provided by the club) & drink with friends, then maybe stay the night nearby & ski on Saturday. I ll list some nearby hotels in the next newsletter. This would be a really great way to get away from the mid-january doldrums and hang out with your fun-nest friends for the weekend on the cheap!!
