Do Matt and Deb know how to put on a Halloween Bash or what?!? Those of you who were able to attend were treated to a bewitching night of mischief with some of the best people around. A great big BOOOO goes out to Matt and Deb for supplying some awesome fun! Next up is the November meeting and November TGIF all rolled into one. This venue is the ever popular Route 40 Roadhouse in Zanesville on Friday, November 9 th, starting at 6pm. The Club has been there before, and we are going back again because we always have a great time. After all, it is called a roadhouse, right?!? This would be a great event to invite some friends so that they can party with the hardy. Hold onto your antlers! The annual Christmas Party on Tuesday, December 4th at the Newark Maennerchor is slated to be filled with Fun, Food, and Frolic. The halls will be decked with a sleigh load of gifts. Your At-Large Directors, Tom & Mark, are continuing to gather a bag full of Christmas loot. Should you have any items that you would like to donate to the Shhh-ilent Auction, please contact Tom or Mark, or just bring it to them at our November meeting. ***Please note that November 15th is the cut-off date to purchase your discounted Season Pass from Snow Trails. 2 Page NOVEMBER A TON OF THINGS ON A TUES NIGHT Our LATEST Annual CHRISTMAS PARTY Tuesday, December 4th, 2012 The Newark Maennerchor It s that time of year again. That s right everyone, time to get your holiday spirit on! This year s Annual Christmas Party (how many is that so far?) will be back at the Newark Maennerchor on (here s the shocker) Tuesday, December 4th, 2012 starting around 6pm. There will be TONS OF THINGS: things to eat (dinner and a desert), things to drink (a full array of drinks for purchase at the bar), things to buy (see The Shhhh ilent Auction article on page 3 to start your shopping list), things to compete for (I repeat, look at page 3), things to listen to (I think that s called music), things to dance to (again, I repeat, it s just music), things to talk to (can t you just call them friends?), things to look at (you mean decorations?), and things to enjoy (what is wrong with just saying that it ll be fun? I mean, c mon!). If you think you can handle A Ton Of Things On A Tuesday Night (aren t you stretching this just a little too far?!?), then get you name onto THE LIST. All it takes is giving Christian or Matt McBride (is there another Matt on the Board worth mentioning?) $5 at the November meeting and presto, you name will magically appear on THE LIST. If you can t be at that meeting, send $5 (check or money order) and a coupon (from page 5) to the NSC PO Box (say that three times fast!) by November 30th. Or, on Tuesday the 4th, put on your Christmas-est clothes and grab your favorite $10 bill, and come on over. We ll take that heavy, heavy Alexander Hamilton off your hands while you come in and enjoy yourself. Now isn t that nice of us?!?

3 Page NOVEMBER The Shhhh--ilent Auction Tuesday, December 4th, 2012 This year, we are replacing the ever-popular (thanks to all of Tim Crowley s great work!) Big Raffle with a Silent Auction at our Christmas Party on Tuesday, December 4th. We have gathered some pretty amazing gifts to auction off, but we are still looking for more. If you have something really cool that you just can t or don t use, please contact the President, Vice, or either of the At-Large Board Members to donate it to this worthy cause Running the Funnest Ski Club in the World!! Since money doesn t grow on trees and Matt (our Treasurer) can t run out and harvest a few hundred dollar bills every time he has to write a check, The Silent Auction will be a great way to donate to your ski club & maybe get something you really want for cheap. Or do some right-ontime Christmas shopping. Plus, haven t you always wanted to outbid a friend? Victory dance, anyone?!? What We Have So Far 1. Season Freedom Pass for Snow Trails 2. An Overnight Package for 2 to Seven Springs including lodging, breakfast buffet, & Lift Tickets for the day before and after 3. 2 Three- Lift Tickets to Lake Taos 4. 4 One- Lift Tickets to Perfect North in Indiana 5. 2 Eight-Hour Lift tickets to Holiday Valley in New York 6. A Wine & Accoutrement Basket with a Cordless Corkscrew 7. A 40 year old bottle of Bourbon 8. A Portable Boot Warmer which can be charged in your car 9. A Texas Roadhouse Gift Basket 10. A Meat & Cheese Basket with a cheese board 11. a pair of Skiskooty s slip-on Alpine Ski Boot Rocker Soles See anything you like? Ready, Set, Bid!! Membership Birthdays Dave Horning 6th Deb Weiser 6th Judy Horning 21st Dan Hoselton 26th Christian Phillips 26th Kip Bowman 28th Rosie Chattos 29th I just can t get away from it! It seems that all the truly cool people know, November is the BEST Month to be born in!!!! (Especially near the end!) [Sorry to the Double Ds on the 6th] Date Changes for Meetings For Your information: Due to outside influences (the gov t. and the calendar), your board has thoughtfully changed the date on two membership meetings. Since November 6th is also Election, we won t compete with you doing your civic duty. The meeting will now be held at Route 40 Roadhouse in Zanesville on Friday, Nov. 9th, combining it with our Nov Happy Hour. So go vote, and then come out to complain about who won & who lost this time around. Our second date change comes because New Year s falls on a Tuesday in 2013, and that is just cutting it toooo close for my hangover. So we have decided to have our annual Snow Trails meeting on Saturday, January 5th. This way, you can come up and ski during the day, come to the meeting that evening, eat & drink with friends, then either go ski again and/or stay the night nearby & ski on Sunday. A really great way to get away with friends for the weekend on the cheap!!

4 Page NOVEMBER Alpine Discovery Program or Learn To Ski Better Program Good job NSC members, we put hurdles in front of you, but 16 signed up before the first deadline. Let s see how many members, family, and friends can sign up before the next deadline of Nov.15 th. There is a price difference, but not by much. Also, if you did not have your photograph taken at the September meeting, you can do so at the Christmas Party. Jon, of the Jon LeVeck Studio, will be taking the final shots for out NSC Directory at that meeting. We had wanted to get this done earlier, but life has a tendency to change things, right? For everyone who was at the September Meeting and had their pictures taken, the proofs will be available for viewing at the Christmas Party. Marge Jensen-Brubaker
