2 Real Estate Market Update Summit County real estate continues to experience positive sales activity and signs of an upward-trending market. As we come into the winter season, the number of residential transactions and sales volume year-to-date are both at their highest level in six years. Additionally, vacant land sales are picking up momentum, with nearly 15% growth in transactions over the same time period in Increased buyer activity of vacant land is an indicator of confidence in the market and might be an effect of the historically low inventory levels we continue to see. Included in this new construction activity are Slifer Smith & Frampton s esteemed development projects. In June, Angler Mountain Ranch introduced 12 additional homesites at the top of the ranch with sweeping views of the Gore Range. Frey Gulch in Keystone, consisting of 8 luxury duplexes overlooking the Keystone River Couse, recently sold out. The Shores at Breckenridge will be breaking ground on two new riverfront residences that boast new transitional architecture. Construction of Water House on Main Street began this summer, and we continue to see incredible sales activity with 11 residences sold in 8 months. The luxury real estate market, which includes properties $1 million and up, is thriving with more than $267 million in sales volume this year. Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate leads in the luxury real estate market with $70 million in sales accounting for 26% of the market share, with our next closest competitor at 16%. Over the past year, Copper Mountain has recycled over 151 tons of waste and composted over 14 tons of garbage, keeping 165 tons of waste out of local landfills. Initiatives: Protect Your Playground: A new environmental grant program aimed at empowering individuals with ideas to protect their local environments and to develop solutions for environmental issues. Copper Environmental Foundation: An employee-run and funded foundation with a long-term goal of supporting environmental initiatives in Summit County and the surrounding area. 100% Bottle Free: A quest to become 100% bottle free by installing new, highly-efficient bottle re-filling stations throughout the resort. On-Mountain Solar Heating: Copper s Solitude Café added a new solar thermal heating system which is expected to generate heat for approximately 90% of the Solitude s summer hot water needs and around 40% of the winter hot water needs.
