1 THE KING CITY SENIORS CENTRE NEWSLETTER September 2018 Inside This Issue From the Editor p Game Winners p.5 Community Board Members p.8 Travel Club p.3 Puzzle Page p.6 Reminders p.8 Happenings p.4 Activity Programs p.7 Looking Ahead p.8 1
2 From the Editor s Desk: *Welcome back everyone. We hope that you had a wonderful summer and are now ready to fully immerse yourself in the many activities KCSC has to offer. *The Board would like to thank Jane Underhill for all her work as treasurer over the years as she leaves this position. *Congratulations to all participants and winners in the Summer Games (see p. 5). *Thanks to photography by Jack Brooks, Betty Coles and Dianne King, our first page is very colourful. *Several administrative changes took place over the summer to align KCSC with other community groups in the Township. New Terms of Reference were drawn up as well as job descriptions for Board members. The Board will henceforth be referred to as the King City Seniors Centre Community Board. The name change, however, does not change the way our volunteers run the activities and programs at the Centre. *We were pleased to welcome four new board members at the June meeting. They are Lynne Fonseco, Toni Palma, Susan Phillips and Sheila Croker. We look forward to their participation. *Construction is beginning on our new home, so we are sharing our building with the library. It is now downstairs. *To keep up with any changes or additions to scheduled events for KCSC, be sure to check the King Weekly Sentinel as well as our website located at *If you have any comments/suggestions/photos for this newsletter, please forward them to the address below.
