As both a safety precaution and to encourage attendance a point is awarded each week for attendance at the Sign Off to Kingfishers. A minimum of 60% attendance must be attained at the Kiama club. In addition a maximum of 15% may be included for attendance at any other SLSA endorsed event provided that the attendance occurs on the same weekend as a regular Kiama nipper s morning. This is to allow Nippers who are away on holidays to include participation with other clubs in their total attendance. Written/Signed confirmation from the other club must be handed to their Age Manager, Nippers Registrar or JAC within 2 weeks of returning to Kiama. If a carnival occurs on the same weekend as a regular Kiama Nippers morning, attendance at the carnival will be used in the 15% mentioned above. It is the nippers responsibility to ensure that their attendance at the carnival is recorded by the Carnival Coordinator on the day of attendance at the Carnival will not be recorded. Carnival Participation Awards are also awarded at the end of year Kingfishers Presentation. AGM and Award Presentation Date: Sunday 20th March, 2016 Time: 11:00am Location: Kiama SLSC Competition/ Awards; To reward excellence in competition the best competitor in each age group, based on points awarded at our points scoring events (refer below) are given an award at the end of year Kingfishers Presentation and AGM. To be eligible the child must also have completed the Participation Award and attended at least one of the South Coast SLSA carnival listed in this Calendar. The U6 and U7 age groups are not included in the Kingfishers Point Scoring and as such there is no awards for these age groups, we as a club are more concerned about fun at these ages than competition so we want to ensure all the U6 and U7 competitors are graded equally. - Page 3 of 5 Updated - 14 September 2015

4 Kiama Kingfisher Perpetual and Major Award Criteria; To reward excellence in competition the best competitors are presented with any of a variety of awards at the end of year Kingfishers Presentation and AGM. To be eligible the child must also have completed the Participation Award. has several Major Awards and the following will detail the criteria for receiving one of these Major Awards; Competitor of the Year; 2. Highest total of points accumulated during Kiama Kingfisher days (Refer to the Point Scoring Events section on Page 12 of this booklet) combined with the total accumulated Carnivals points for the season. 3. Awarded to 2 Kingfishers (1 Male and 1 Female) across all group (U8 s through to U14 s). Carnival Competitor of the Year; 2. Highest accumulated total points at Carnivals for the season. 3. Awarded to 1 Male and 1 Female Kingfisher from each age group (U8 s through to U14 s). PointScore Champions; 2. Highest total of points accumulated during Kiama Kingfisher days. (Refer to the Point Scoring Events section on Page 12 of this booklet) 3. Awarded to 1 Male and 1 Female Kingfisher Kingfisher from each age group (U8 s through to U14 s). Point Scoring Events; We have allocated 4 separate days to conduct Point Scoring for the Kingfishers as shown in the Kingfishers Calendar which are marked as blue, this is to accommodate for any unforeseen poor weather that may arise causing the cancellation of a Point Scoring day. Of the 4 Point Scoring days only a maximum of 3 will count toward a competitors final total points, what this means is if Kingfishers run all 4 Point Scoring days the competitor's lowest scoring day will be discarded and the remaining 3 of the 4 days will be tallied to create the competitors total points. If only 1, 2 or 3 Point Scoring days are held due to weather conditions then all the points accumulated for the those days will count toward a competitor s total score. For example if we ran all 4 point scoring events the following table would show how the points would be tallied. Sample Point Scoring Total #1 #2 #3 #4 Total In the above scenario #2 would be discarded and not tallied as it was the lowest scoring round the competitor registered and hence the total would be 63 points and not 81 as would be the case if all 4 Point Scoring Days were actually tallied. - Page 4 of 5 Updated - 14 September 2015
