EVENT DATE AND LOCATION The 2018 SunSmart Endurance Championships will be held at Sorrento on Saturday 27 October This event is proudly sponsored by Healthway, promoting the SunSmart message. LIST OF EVENTS The list of events and race distances for the 2018 SunSmart Endurance Championships are outlines in Appendix 1. Note: A minimum of three competitors from two clubs is required to constitute an event. ENTRY FEES $20 per nipper competitor (U12 U13). $40 per competitor (U14 Masters). $100 per Surf Boat Crew. This entry fee covers the 2018 SunSmart Endurance Championships only. Clubs will be invoiced accordingly for entry fees at the conclusion of this event. Entry fees are non-refundable if members do not take part in these Championships or if events are subsequently cancelled after commencement of the Championships. START TIMES Start times of events are listed in Appendix2 SAFETY BRIEFING A safety briefing for competitors will take place at 10 minutes before each starting wave. EVENT COURSES The event courses will be outlined to competitors in the race briefing. All events will start and finish at Sorrento beach except the surf boat events. SURF BOAT EVENTS The Surf boat events will start at Scarborough beach and finish at Sorrento beach.

2 SUNSMART NIPPER GOLD (Ironman) The Nipper Ironman (Under 12 to Under 13) will be run as the SunSmart Nipper Gold. Course map is available as appendix 3. ENTRY CONDITIONS Entries will be on-line via Members Surf Sports Entries Entries will close 5pm Wednesday 24 October NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. Entry conditions, proficiency and patrol hour requirements will be as per SLSA Policy 5.04 Competition Eligibility and the SLSA Surf Sports Manual (35 th Edition) plus its amendments. The patrol hour requirement will use the 2017/2018 calendar hours performed, or on a pro-rata basis as defined in the policy (U13 and U14 age competitors do not have a patrol hour requirement). Age categories for these championships are taken as of 30 September U12 and U13 competitors must possess the competition skills evaluations. The 2017/2018 evaluations are valid for this event. New members must obtain the evaluation before the event. U14 competitors without a SRC for this event must have an U13 competition skills evaluations from 2017/2018 U15 competitors must possess the SRC as a minimum. U17, U19, Open and Masters competitors must possess the Bronze Medallion as a minimum. All competitors in water-based surf lifesaving events held by SLSWA will be required to wear a high visibility lycra vest. Except where otherwise specified, vests must be worn by all competitors and handlers entering the water beyond knee depth. MEDAL PRESENTATIONS Presentation of championship medallions will be held on the beach as each event has concluded. POINT SCORE As outlined in circular 2, 2018/2019, SLSWA has revised the point scores for Championship events. From 2018 Clubs will compete for the SunSmart WA Endurance Championship. This incorporates all results from all applicable age groups (nippers to masters).
