1 Sussex County YMCA Swim Swordfish Team 2019 LONG COURSE SEASON INFO SHEET The Sussex County YMCA is offering a unique opportunity for to experience Long Course training and competition for (Coaches discretion) age 9 to 18. Our coaching staff is experienced, certified and dedicated to the sport. Our practices will be held at the following sites: Sussex County YMCA (15 Wits End Road, Hardyston NJ 07419) Lake Mohawk Pool (21 Lake Mohawk Country Club Boardwalk, Sparta Township NJ 07871) Coaches for Long Course season will be Coach Ray & Coach Linda. Occasional substitute certified Coach when needed or a third coach added if needed based on roster size. We are pleased to be offering (once again) a Stay in Shape practice session that will run with the same schedule as below, however, will end on June 15th. This is an opportunity to allow our who may decide to compete with their summer league teams a chance to stay in shape leading into that season. Or they may want to join our summer team (strongly encouraged) which starts on Monday June 17th. More information to follow regarding our summer team. Anyone that does full LC season will be automatically registered on our summer team and can participate in those meets. No extra fees. **Space is limited so please register as soon as you can.** New Swimmers looking to swim Long Course: We remain committed to accommodating as many on our team as we possibly can without sacrificing the quality of our program. In an effort to place any new on the LC team the qualifications to swim are as follows: Participated on a competitive swim team within the last year (2018) Minimum of 9 years of age. Coaches will determine if swimmer is ready for Long Course training. If you don t meet these requirements I strongly suggest signing up for our 8 week Spring swim clinic which also starts on April 22nd and runs 3x a week based on the group you are in. 2 YOU MUST REGISTER AHEAD OF TIME-AS SPACE IS LIMITED. Limited space during our training inside, once outside we are fine. Team Deposit and registration 1 st installment of fees will be due by Wednesday, April 10th, These must be received by this date to assure a spot on our team this year (see Fees below). Note to Returning Swimmers: Your TeamUnify account will not be accessible until are activated after registration. All fees from the previous short course season MUST be paid in FULL before swimming for the Long Course season or Spring clinic. We will participate in 5-6 Long Course meets during the summer as well as Championship meets. We also participate in The Wallkill Valley Summer League with approximately six dual meets vs summer league teams beginning in early July. Meets generally are held on weekday evenings with a start time around 5:30-6:00 pm. Summer League Championship meet is held on Saturday July 27 th, As always practice schedules are subject to change based on weather, meets being held at the Mohawk pool or meets we are participating in. 5 Competition Schedule We do not have our full LC Competition Schedule at this time; however continue to check our website for updates. Here are some general guidelines: YMCA & NJ Swimming Invitational s There is a myriad of invitational meets (with multiple teams attending) which offers the options of swimming additional events for times, which they can choose. We compete against other teams throughout New Jersey/New York & Connecticut. Summer League Meets: All LC can also compete in our summer league meets and the Championship meet at the end of July. No additional fees are required to do this. YMCA & NJ Swimming Championship Meets Swimmers must make qualifying times to be eligible for a series of Championship meets, which begin in May and run through July. Our Competition schedule will be posted on our TeamUnify website at the beginning of the season. Team members will have the opportunity to sign up for meets directly online.

6 Fees There are 3 categories of fees that need to be satisfied: YMCA Membership (including Joining Fee), Team Deposit, and Practice Group Fee. All fees must be paid at time of registration in order to reserve spot on the team. YMCA Membership Required for all YMCA programs, including swim team. (This is for any new members looking to join the YMCA) Membership Type Monthly Draft 20/20 Joining Fee Youth (0-12) $23.00 $25.00 Teen (13-17) $31.50 $25.00 Young Adult (18-22) $43.75 $35.00 $25.00 Adult (23-64) $55.50 $44.40 $25.00 Senior (65 & up) $44.25 $35.40 $25.00 Senior Couple (65 & up) $63.00 $50.40 $25.00 Family* $89.25 $71.40 $50.00 Family Plus * $15.00 addtl. $ *(additional adult living in same household) Team Deposit $ Non-Refundable Team Deposit for full Long course season. $65.00 will be applied towards meet entry fees for the season. Stay in Shape will require $70.00 Nonrefundable Deposit in which $40.00 will goes towards meet fees. Practice Group Fees Covers pool time and coaching for all practices from April thru July. (Final dates are determined by what championship meets each swimmer individually qualifies for. Season for some may extend into first week of August.) All LC Swimmers Full season (14 weeks) $555.0 Plus $ nonrefundable deposit. Total cost= $65.00 of the nonrefundable deposit will go towards meet fees. Deposit plus first payment due by 4/10/19 $ includes deposit. 2 nd payment due- $ /10/19. 3 rd payment due $ /10/19 Weekly cost is approx. $40.00 per swimmer All Stay in Shape Shorter season (8 weeks) $ Plus $70.00 nonrefundable deposit. Total $ Open to 9 & older. Swimmers can swim in long course meets only through June 16 th and are not automatically on our summer team. $40.00 will go towards meet fees. Deposit plus first payment due by 4/10/19 $ (includes deposit) 2 nd payment due by 5/16/19 $ rd payment due by 6/16/19 $ Weekly cost per swimmer is approx This is a good program if you re planning on swimming on your summer team or you can choose to do our Spring clinic if the practices times don t work out for you. Additional Costs Some are additional costs throughout the season are team suits, gear, team photos, meet entry fees (in excess of the allotment given at registration), hotel and travel costs (for championship meets should a swimmer qualify), etc. per swimmer towards meet fees.

7 Answers to Frequently Asked Questions The age of our is 9-18 years old with different practice groups for age and ability levels. Our team participates in three different leagues: The Wallkill Valley Swim Conference (Summer meets), Northern New Jersey YMCA, and NJ Swimming (USA Swimming). Our coaches are ASCA, USA Swimming, and YMCA certified and are accomplished and dedicated to the sport. Our season runs from early late April to approximately end of July (depending on age and what championship meets your child qualifies for) Practices are five times a week, Most competitions are on the weekends. We require to maintain a minimum of roughly 70% practice attendance. All must be members of the Sussex County YMCA. Parents are required to volunteer at a few meets as timers, etc. No experience necessary for most jobs. Generally Timers needed at meet. New not on our team during the short course season will be charged an additional $68.00 to cover USA swimming fees so they can swim in USA sanctioned meets. All on our short course team already are US registered through 12/31/2019 and therefore can participate in USA swim meets.
