11 QUESTIONS? Do I have to get my picture taken for my pass? Yes, all pass holders require a pass with a photo. Your pass will not be printed until we have it. Come to the pool to get your photo taken and automatically scanned into our system. See our Facebook page for options of submitting your own picture if you d prefer! What if I forget my pass? No worries! We can search you up in no time. Can I register for Season Passes or Swimming Lessons online/ by phone? You can register for seasons passes online (cardston.ca) but for everything else must come in to the pool to register. Lessons are on a first-come, first-served basis, and cannot be registered online or by phone. My child can swim. Why did they fail their class? We follow the Red Cross Swim Kids lesson curriculum, which requires all skills in a level to be performed correctly 3 times on 3 separate days. So, while your child may be excelling in one skill, if there is another skill they are struggling with, our Instructors cannot complete them. Remember- its not passing or failing. It s completing or not completing! We need to make sure they can safely and clearly complete all required skills so they are prepared for the next level. Why is the instructor discouraging me from registering my child in multiple levels per summer? It s important to us that everyone is in the appropriate level, so they can get the most out of their lessons. Their level should be challenging but still fun! If a child passes 2 levels in a summer, chances are that they 1) didn t need to take the easier level, or 2) likely wont complete the harder one. Classes fill up quickly so we like to make sure everyone is where they need to be.

12 How do I know what level to register my child in? Please call or visit the pool, and any of our Instructors will be happy to help you. If your child starts a class and the Instructor feels they are in the wrong level, we will collaborate with you and our other Instructors to make sure your child is in the right class. What is Power Tots? Instead of offering all 8 Red Cross Swim Preschool levels, we have combined them into 2 classes; Tots and Power Tots. Power Tots is perfect for those swimmers who are too advanced for our regular Tots class, but not yet old enough for level 1 (MUST be 6 to enrol in level 1). An easy guide is age 3-4 for Tots, and age 5 for Power Tots. Must be 3 to enrol in Tots.
