1 Aquatic Center The Eline von Borries Aquatic Center opened its doors in 1967 and now serves the Goucher College faculty/staff, students, alumni, and Baltimore community. To please the recreational and competitive swimmers the water temperature is set at a mild 82 degrees. The pool measures 25 yards and has 6 lap lanes. Hours Weekdays 7:30am-2pm Monday & Wednesday Evenings 9pm-10pm Weekends 12:00pm-3:00pm Note: The pool may be closed during certain holidays, academic breaks, swim meets, and other special events. Check monthly calendars for exact schedule. General Policies Pool passes must be presented to desk attendants, facility supervisors, and lifeguards upon request. Under no circumstances will a person be allowed to enter the pool without their pool pass. Guests must be accompanied by the sponsoring pass holder at all times and will be required to pay a $10.00 guest fee. Passes may be purchased from the Aquatic Staff. Individuals under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Members are permitted a maximum of two guests at any one $8/person. You are responsible for your belongings. Bring your own lock and towel and remove locks when you leave. Patrons must abide by the directions of the Aquatic Center staff at all times. Students & Faculty/Staff: All students and employees need only present their valid College ID to use the aquatic center. Alumni Memberships: All alumni applicants will be checked against the alumni directory. Be sure to list year of graduation on the registration form. Community Memberships: Members of the community not affiliated with Goucher College may purchase memberships. Membership is limited to the first one hundred applicants. Memberships are first come first served. Please return this application immediately to reserve your membership now!!! MEMBERSHIP DATES The membership period runs from Saturday, August 25, 2007 and closes Friday, May 2, Memberships purchased after November may be pro-rated quarterly. Additional Programs Water Aerobics: The water aerobics program is a low level aquatic exercise program designed to improve aerobic capacity, muscle strength, and flexibility. Swim School: The Swim School program provides swimming instruction to pre-school and school aged children. Lessons for adult are also available depending upon interest. Swim Clinic: This clinic will run throughout the academic year and is designed for those swimmers who are looking for that little extra help in their strokes or for those swimmers getting ready for competition. Safety School: Basic and instructor level courses in Lifeguard Training, CPR, First Aid, and Water Safety Instructor (WSI) are offered during Safety School. Pool Operator- Become a certified Pool Operator. Ask about our future classes and dates.
