7 5 *Tourna ment / Training Participat ion 6 Doubles Camp/In vitation event 7 **PSA Members hip Fee 4 men + 4 women 2 Dec/J an Dec /Jan 7 Malaysia /England Professional 1,50,00,000 5,00,000 2,85,000 *Squash is primarily played as an individual sport. To excel at a high level a player needs to enroll in the professional organisation (PSA) to garner world-ranking points. This requires participation in approximately 10 tournaments a year. To beat the best, players need to train with the best; as a result players base themselves abroad at various clubs for training and to attain the requisite match exposure (leagues). It must be noted thattournaments appear on the professional (PSA) calendar 8-10 weeks prior to events;therefore, it is not possible to list the tournaments players will participate in advance. However players will apply for funding from their allocated amount at least 4 weeks in advance. The SRFI has allocated an amount to be distributed (subject to approval) to playersbased on their national,professional ranking,performance in tournaments and future potential for training andpsa competition exposures. These players would be required to abide by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports letters dated 28 October 2014 and 18 July 2013 and SRFI s code of conduct. **Membership Fees In order to participate in PSA tournaments players are requiredto pay their annual professional members fees. The cost is as follows: For the 5 men the PSA fees - GBP 425 x 5 players = GBP 2,125 For the 4 women the PSA fees - GBP 300 x 4 players = GBP 1,200 Total fees GBP 3,325i.e. INR85/GPB For this purpose the SRFI has graded its players. 8 Korea, Bahrain, Iran, Jordan 7.0 Coaches and Support Staff proposed for providing training at National Camps for Seniors only (Male & Female separately). 7.1 Foreign Coach MYAS has appointed Mr. Achraf El Karargui as the foreign coach from 30 July 2016 at a salary of US$5,000 per monthalong with prerequisites as per government norms. Mr. Achraf El Karargui overseas the National Coaching Program that has produced excellent results in the few months he has been in India. Sparring Partners (Coaches) In addition to players going abroad for training and competitions, it is imperative that we hireformer professional squash players to India to train and spar with our elite men and women squash players based here. This will give a larger pool of Indian squash players an opportunity to train with accomplished professional players, and this too at a lower cost than if we were to send a numbers of players abroad. It is proposed that we appoint 2 sparring partners at a salary of US$3,000 each per month along with prerequisites as per government norms. 7.2 National Coach (Give detail with Cost). Cyrus Poncha is currently the national coach. 7.3 Support staff for Training. (Give detail with Cost). S. Supporting Staff (Seniors & Salary (per month) No Juniors) 1 Sports Analyst Rs. 50,000 2 Gym Trainer Rs. 60,000 3 Physiotherapist Rs. 50,000 4 Nutritionist Rs. 50,000 5 Fitness Coach US$3,000 * *Fitness Coach Fitness training for squash is extremely critical. As there are no specific squash fitness coaches in India, it is recommended to hire a fitness expert who has worked with the top players in the world. It is proposed that we appoint the fitness coach at a salary of US$3,000 per month along with prerequisites as per government norms. 8.0 Sports Equipment (Consumable and portable) required and to be procured for use in preparation of Indian teams/campers. The SRFI will procure all equipment through sponsors. 9.0 Annual Calendar of National s for all three-age categories separately with date and venue. Our calendar is published online and revised on a constant basis. It can be viewed at 7

19 ANNEX D SQUASH RACKETS FEDERATION OF INDIA CRITERIA TO REPRESENT INDIA / BE INTIVED FOR SELECTION TRIALS 1. General Coaching camps / selection trials may be conducted by SRFI. These will be used as a guide for selecting players to participate in international tournaments. Participation in the selection trials / coaching camp is compulsory for eventual selection or participation in the championship; however, exemptions may be given at SRFI s discretion. 2. To Represent India In International Senior s In a team of 4 players, a maximum of 3 players may be selected based on their PSA rankings as at 30 days prior to the closing date of the tournament. For any event where less than 4 players are required, selection may be based on PSA rankings as at 30 days prior to the closing date. A selection trial may be held if required. 3. To Represent India In International Junior s Performance at the selection trials / camps (Semi finalists at the junior nationals in their respective categories and players ranked top 4 in the SRFI rankings will be invited; however, the SRFI reserves the right to invite other deserving Indian citizens for selection trials). a. Performance in physical fitness tests at the selection trials / camps, if conducted. b. Performance at national / international tournaments. c. World / Regional rankings. d. Discipline on and off court. e. Attitude during training and competition. f. Future potential. g. Preference may be given to players who are eligible for the next team championship. 4. Selection Committee The selection committee shall select the individuals / teams to represent the country. The committee shall consist of the President / Secretary General of the federation, National Coach, an eminent ex sportsperson and 1 other person appointed by the President / Secretary General of the federation. 1

Identifying and grading players Appointing relevant coaches and supporting staff Monthly training programmes (micro cycles) Training Camps in India and aboard Participation in all Asian & World and PSA championships. Monitoring of results and performances. GRADING OF PLAYERS The identified players have been put into 4 grades: For the CWG & AG 2018 we would primarily look at players in Grade A & Grade B with a possibility of players from Grade C. Grade A Players who are currently ranked top 100 in the PSA Men's ranking and ranked top 50 in the PSA Women's ranking. Grade B Players who have represented India (in senior events) within the past year or have finished top 4 at the current national championships. 2
